Can this Pulley be removed or is it part of the shaft? I want to replace it with an aftermarket lightened pulley when the rb30 goes in. What brands of pulley do people recommend? Thanks in advance.

Hi I recently installed an rb25 box into my r32 and I have noticed the gearbox to have a slight whine/whirr in 1st gear, only under acceleration. Gears shift smoothly and the box feels ok as a whole. Noise is like a supercharger increasing with revs (best way I can describe it, not real loud but definitely very noticeable). I'm taking a guess that one of the bearings in the box is worn but not sure why only 1st gear would only have the noise? Or is this just how these boxes are being a lot larger than the rb20 box etc as I did noticed how much more room it took up in the transmission tunnel when we put it in. I'm using nismo mounts(engine and box ) and it came with a short shifter, plus I got a custom 2 piece fishtail made up by Hardy Spicier (fitted like a glove). Box Oil is Castrol Syntrans 75w90 (4 litres in box) I did do a bit of a search on SAU and on the net but found conflicting information. cheers!

Description - RB25DE (R32) Intake manifold and runners I have modified the plenum to suit turbo set up etc Both the runners and the plenum have been painted with VHT Aluminium (Colour) and have a VHT clear coat also. Is the fuel pump cradel an R32 GT_T unit?

Are these any good? Has anyone bought one and tested yet? Made from steam pipe and side walls are approx 3 mm thick. http://www.ebay.com/...d49c0e6&vxp=mtr Figured steam pipe would be better against cracking than s/s.

Ok you all win I decided to go an RB30. I picked an RB30 bottom end up for $50 yesterday. Appears to be in quite good nick.

Townsville is a great place if you lile the slower chilled out life style. I'm moving back there in Jan 2012 and i can't wait. Beaches dont look that great but the fishing is great, if you know where to go. Car sceene is pretty much good but can get a little bogan at times.

Yeah that was my thoughts too after looking into it. I am most likely going down the path of the DET block. The only issues I see is that the Oil Gallery for the VVT that I will not be using will be to be welded or Grub screwed (No biggy) but the Water gallery for the VVT block (near the VVT Oil gallery) is different to the Non VVT head (The one I have) This may need to be welded in parts and then re-machined die grind-ed to suit.. See pics on the first page. It should be ok but I still needed to ask the question to see if the oil squirters could be done correctly? The Permaseal MLS Gasket (on their website) is the same part number for both R32 and R33 RB25 tells me that it may be OK to use (This could also be a web site screw-up though). It looks like the actual sealing part of the gasket will go around both water galleries sizes . I will check this once I get my hands on a DET Block to determine my options. Thanks. Can anyone recommend where I can go to get Oil squirters fitted to an NA RB25 Block. A good Machinist should be fine to do this.

Are all the Blocks Oil squirters in good Nick.?

I know the block is stuffed but are the oil squirters still ok ?

I have no issues with the rb30 set up other than it not what I wish to do. I think too torquey would be more down the lines of a LS3 (I did look into this a bit back but I threw that idea into the too hard basket.). I'll take that comment back on the RB30. but that's all you getting out of me on that one. I want forgies to have a better chance against det and it will allow me a bigger turbo if I wish down the track.

So basically not many of my q's were answered but rather I get the whole anything other than RB30 bottom end is wrong. Let me explain my self better here. I wish to go down the Rb25 path NOT the RB30 path. So if anyone else wishes to tell me to go down the RB30 path please keep you comment to your selves. I Just was after advise on what I am doing with the RB25DE build.
