  1. This 14psi = kill turbo thing everyone talks about seems to be a bit of a bell curve if you ask me. The majarity of them will die round 14psi. Some even die at stock boost and some just seem to take crazy amounts of boost. Its up to you if you want to run more boost but the risk off it dieing will increase accordingly. You may be lucky and then again. Also if it does die it could also at a very off chance kill your engine as the ceramic bits from the wheel do wonder to the bore if they get in there if you know what I mean.
  2. I went with nismo engine mounts and if you can get them cheaper I would go with them first. Straight fit replacement and are much stronger than the stock ones. I guess it all ends up with what you can get cheaper.
  3. Yeah RB20 boxs are underatted more than they should be as they are a strong box just they dont like being flat changed.
  4. A stock ecu will fuel cut before too much boost can be wound into it. Unless you are running 100 ron fuel you will get detonation on much more than 13 psi on a stock tune and intercooler.
  5. Download the manuals from apex-usa. They will show you exactly howto set it up etc. Not sure of the exact link but do a search and you'll find it.
  6. Safc is fine for basic mods but for a more moded motor a remap would be more benificial.
  7. The question is that can these injectors support an idle at 14.7:1 afr. Sounds like a challenge to me
  8. I think they flow to about 560cc each From memory so about 560HP@flywheel? As long as the fuel pump is up to the task of course.
  9. I am not going to the dark side just yet.
  10. I'm running these red tops on my r32 with a remap and they work fine other than a rough idle. This could be rectified with a bit of messing around with the ecu idle control values but I havent really had much time to do it yet.
  11. No expenses spared I see. Cant wait to see the power graph of this one.
  12. Yeah there is alway room just a pain in the neck to install.
  13. So I would just replace the old leather with this one?
  14. Not much I'd say. All it will do is run a little rich at idle. From past experience all I did was Once I set up the K to run the correct afr under load etc I just adjusted the void to run the afr of 14.7:1 as it should be according to the fuel map correction values. Just think of the void as an idle mixture setting.
  15. The k is the main multiply as most of you may already know. It just richens or leans out the whole a/f's across the board of the fuel maps etc. For every number increase or decrease it will richen or lean out the overall fueling by 0.1 of a fuel ratio. So up the k by 10 ( in dec) will up it by 1 afr. The blast off time or void as its allso know as is the extra pulse width to the injectors that is added too the start and the finnish of the base pulswidth of the injector. It barely effects the ratios up in the revs under load but it affect the mixture at idle quite dramticly. For every number up or down it richens or leans out the A/f at idle by 0.1 of a ratio. Just clearing a few things up with the stock ecu.
  16. With the XSpower manifolds I have noticed the top mount ones are made of 321 stainless compaired to the 304 stainless steel the stock mounted ones are made from.
  17. Yeah I guess it does.(Cast manifold compared to the stainless runners )
  18. would these fit the RB20DET box?
  19. I got a xs power lowmount manifold and it was a fairly straight forward to fit. It changed the note of the engine a little (little smoother) but I dint really notice any power increase to be hournest. I recon stick with your stock one and if you rewqire more flow get the stock one flowed etc.
  20. Sounds like a good theory too me Cooler oil cooler piston temps too I guess.
  21. Oil catch can is a good idea. Though a healthy RB20DET breaths sfa. I only have one because my olod motor was so stuffed. I could fill it up in one night. As for an oil cooler I dunno. Never had one and never seen any used. Probly only nesaccerrywhen racing I guess.
  22. What made me come down here? Fiancee and the fact there are real/decent race tracks/parks down here for me to flog my car without the hassle of the police and other traffic. I hope to have some fun over the next few years down here.
  23. Yeah thanxchamp. I am living Dulich hill. Friday night Cruise sounds sweet I will definately check it out once I get my car here. And yeah I would liek to put some faces to the names.
  24. The boost signal is not on the ecu but on the map sensor in the enginbay. Driverside firewall theres the map sensor that has a 3 wire plug connected to it. I think the wire u need is the middle one. I used to have one of the earlia model hybrid boos controllers. Very good unit.
  25. Well I just moved to Sydney last sunday and I barely know anyone down here so I thought it might be a a good time to meet some sydney based people. I have been part of the SAU for ages now but I tend to be a bit reserved most of the time. I have come from Townsville NQ. And I drive a marroon R32 GTS-T, though it wont be down here till after the new yeah. So yeah just saying howdy.
