  1. I NEED this aftermarket facia. It haunts my dreams.
  2. I don't mind pulling it out more than once, it's easy when you have the right tools. I'd prefer to physically see what's wrong with it rather then go off a sight unseen diagnosis. I don't even know why we are talking about my turbo so much. Let's discuss my stereo instead. Lol.
  3. Trying to find a double din facia for the stagea on the cheap. Have seen plenty on eBay but most are $180-$250. Way over priced or am I just being a right arse??? Anyone selling one cheap or know if one going cheap?
  4. I'm happy with the stock rebuild for now, not going for power. Will probably give in down the track and go for more power.
  5. Could cause some serious safety issues if the shock has no upward travel. May result in excessive stress to other suspension components as well.
  6. Yeah they fail catastrophically sometimes. Seen a few blades wedged into radiator cores over the years. There's nothing wrong with mine though, I just hate the noise they make.
  7. Lol nah not yet. It's that ugly gold colour. Should have some pics once I lower it. It's looking like wrong oil has caused the turbo noise. Changed the oil and the old stuff felt like 20-60 or something similar. Put some 5-30 in it and the noise has gotten a fair bit quieter. Pretty sure the damage has already been done and will still need a reco though. Now that I know I can't delete topics, I might think twice before starting another.
  8. Thanks for the input Daleo. Seems like a pain in the arse, I might just turn the stereo up to solve my problem lol. Didn't really need to be told why nissan why like the fans thought.....
  9. Aslong as there's is no damage to non serviceable parts of a turbo, then rebuilding a turbo is a fairly simple job. As far as the exhaust gasket goes, a gasket is a gasket no matter what car it's on and gasket fail. I've seen very small parts of exhaust gaskets blow out and cause whining noises many times before on many different cars. I started this topic to find an answer to my question and assumed It would end there. Now how to a delete this topic? because it's of no use to anyone now that I've got my car.
  10. How do I delete this topic. I can't stop laughing at that reply
  11. The lower the spring, the less distance the shock has to travel. If you want to go lower but keep the standard feel, then you need to change the shocks aswell
  12. That's hilarious
  13. did anyone find out where he got that dash moulding from??? I cracked a fat as soon as i saw that. must have one...........
  14. Just bought an M35 AR-X stagea and straight off the bat the fan is shitting me to tears. It sounds like im driving a friggen EB Falcon. (Very odd that a post 2000 model petrol engine runs a viscous fan ) I've searched the forums for an electric thermo fan solution but can't seem to find anything. Has anyone come up with a good swap for these yet? aftermarket option or possibly a fan from a V35 skyline or something like that?
  15. Cheers gents. ended up picking up a pretty tidy AR-X. Ugly colour though. Only bad point is the turbo is noisey. I didnt think much of it since ive rebuilt many turbos before and the kits are usually only around $100. UNTIL i did abit of searching and found they are in a bitch of a spot and its really hard to find rebuilt kits for. Fingers crossed its just a busted exhaust gasket or a boost leak leading me astray.
  16. Make sure theres no boost leaks before you go ripping the turbo off. Sometimes they can make odd noises.
  17. is it happening mostly while turning? not an expert on stageas but if its an LSD, sometimes the clutches in the diff will bind and release rapidly and repeatedly when cornering causing the inside wheel to "skip" which sounds like a clunk noise from inside the car and will also churp. sometimes its a simple fix by just changing your diff oil and you can also get an additive that goes in with the oil to help free up the clutches.
  18. Looking at a couple of 2002-2003 nm35 A-RX stageas this weekend and just after some basic info. I know there are topics and posts on here with all the info but its taking me way too long to cut through all the crap and find what i need to know. I just want to know what the basic differences are between the different models of the nm35. (2004 and earlier, on a budget) and the major problems that are encountered. Im a mechanic so im not too worried about the minor issues like oil leaks and such, just the issues which will cost me money rather than time. Any help would be great, anyone complaining and telling me to filter through the other posts need not reply.
