DezEgle, You can be the lad rat and do a before and after on this type of intercooler. eg: Creat a thread after do you'r thoughts on how you think it performs and dyno results etc etc. Other than that ARC is a good brand and i would expect that their cooler's are made from good material and do the job. Avc-r's bleed to atmo, they have 3 ports on the solinoid NC, NO & COM, Does this make it illegal ?
-
No its not good for the turbo with out a front mount too much shaft speed generates too much heat, But i've seen a couple of guys running that sort of boost level through stock RB20 - No Intercooler/Dumpipe and their turbo hasn't died yet! But i would reccomend 10 - 12psi max - try and keep around 10 if you can otherwise you'l end up with a exhaust wheel in you'r cat with anything over 12psi, if you'r flogging it on a hot day for too long. Upping boost mean's more air going into enigne meaning you'r going to need the fuel to compensate for it but the stock ecu usally runs rich and can self learn to whats being done to the car. You will deffiently notice it seat to pants, the car will pull harder/stronger through to redline. If you'r at the dragstrip, If you have good traction you will see better terminal speeds & ET's. I'm not to sure on how much HP you will get from upping the boost depends on what else is done to your car. Jun

Interesting point, Avc-r's are good if you set them up properly, but its alot of muking around as you mentioned to try and get it too learn. For the spiking problem - Start Duty is used in each gear to stop this. Jun

Its probrely cheaper to go the full 3" from turbo to cat - one piece. $380 for JustJap I think. It's not work doing half the job, becuase you'll still have restriction their. The air flow will go somthing like this: Out of the engine through exhaust housing on turbo into big 3" dump then into small 2" - 2.5" or what ever size they are standard then back into 3" you get the idea. So its still got a restriction their and that little bit of pipe thats smaller than the rest does make a fair big difference performance wise. If you want to make you'r exhaust more quiet, Put another resonator on their. Making any change to you'r exhaust - from standard to aftermarket, you will get a little more sound to you'r exhaust note, but nothing drastic. Jun
-
Yeh True JULZA, describe the sound more, is it a missfire or a knocking sound ? I'v never herd struggling or shudder. - what rpm is this happening ?
-
Hey Benl1981, The noise increase is fairly little for a mild steel dumpipe but with a stainless its a little bit louder. - Nothing much to worrie about as its hardly noticable. Jun
-
Get the full dumpipe from turbo back to the cat. Other wise its pointless doing half the job. - Yes power gain's are noticable. Jun
-
Do the dumpipe from the turbo to cat. & Front Mount Intercooler. Maby try changing you'r spark plugs aswel. This should help. Jun
-
If you have front mount cooler/Dumpipe/Exhaust done, it should be breathing fully and not strugling uptop. Leaning out won't make it struggle - as you said you have a bigger fuel pump and with stock R34 turbo - it should'nt lean out. What boost are you running & what else is done to the car ? Jun
-
Dude, It should plug into the side of the FC, next to the H/C plug. Simple as! You don't need to do anything to the wires. As long as you have the harness to plug into the FC and not avc-r. Jun
-
You carn't predict the lifespan of an enigne. As others have said its how you drive/look after it and what modification's are done. eg: Fairly Modified RB26 - could last 80,000ks or could last 180,000 depends on what you do to it. Stock GTR, RB26 is nearly impossible to kill & will last for ages if you look after it. - meaning stock boost aswel. Jun
-
Ben, Its not expensive at all. Need a cable that can handel 14 volts. Cable $10 - rufly solder/soldering iron - $? duct tape - $2 - covering the solder join's & bare wires. Jun
-
Hey mate, I wonldn't think the bits and pieces of ringland will go up as they most likely would have blow on compression stroke meaning the air & explosing is forcing pistons down so the air would have blown the a hole through the rings on the side of piston towards the inside of piston into then into the sump. somthing like this:  On this engine their was no dammge done to head or turbo. - car was driven straight home and pull down to be rebuilt. But i've seen cases were valve's have been a little dammged (chips) and turbo exhaust wheel fins possibly chiped. Due to driving the car after blowing ringlands. Jun
-
Yeh bud Bit scarey at first but its becaues the FC draws more current than stock ecu, fuses in the back ticking crazy. See it a couple of times you have to re-run a new wire to the ecu. From the battery to the fuse box in engine bay then to main power on ecu other wise if its direct from battery it will be on all the time. Jun

timesllip - does this seem right ??

Traction seems to be fine which is show by you'r 60' which is not too bad at all. As with ET & TS their about right, I've seen 14 flats at 107mph - indercates no traction. Run it again at 209kw should see mid 13 maby even low 13's. -
Nexus9, Thats correct i agee with what you stated but i was meaning rediculous fine's, as you said in the middle of no were! with no traffic, at midnight. - noise/smoke As for indercator's their's so many people in QLD that don't know how to indercate going into and leaving a roundabout! But i was refering to in you'r own street with no cars and pulling into you'r driveway and not using indercator etc. Jun

Too much Pussquilla! or vodka filled wiskers. Sorta looks like coffee beans not cat bikkies!
-
Its :bs!: really, Police should concerntrate on stopping drink driving, murder's, brake & enter's and other stuff like that. Not: Excessive Noise/Smoke made from a car - $240 fine Failing to use indercator's 10k's over the limmit Having a BOV Having you'r car too low and all the other :bs!: they can get you for to make money for their end of year christmas party! Speed doesn't kill, people kill people & inexpierence drivers kill people as others have said driver training should be applied to make the roads safe. I hear some were in NSW their making the speed limmit upto 140kph on the freeway ? - testing it out as america is doing the same. This will work in a way but not, Not Work: Because inexpierenced drivers get irratated at high speeds and are under pressure if people are up their A$$ because their going too slow. So making the speed faster will make it worse for some drivers but better for others. - comes down to driving expierence. Its just getting worse and worse the cops carn't think of anything better to do except make rediculous fine's that prove what % better in deaths state wide. 175km/h even though that is a rediculous speed to be doing on public roads, you didn't kill anyone! You slow'd down straight away and happened to be in the wrong spot at the wrong time - tuff luck cop it sweet! my 2 bobs worth Jun
-
Have you done a compression test ? Might be a wise thing to do as could be a hole in you'r piston. - usally number 6. Is the car doing anything unusual like chewing lots of oil, blowing un-normal amounts of smoke, miss fire's etc ? Jun

Castrol Synthetic Type R 10w-60 I found is best for hot weather. - Around $60 - $70 depending were you get it from. Jun -
