  1. Red might be nismo's. Black might be HKS, Not to sure though ? usally purpl'y colour for R33 GTST. Not to sure if their differnt from series 1 & 2. If you had the stock computer and bigger injectors you'r car would run like sh!t because of the Injector Data Correction Times need to be changed. - with tunable ecu Jun
  2. Couple of engine bays from FNQ.
  3. Whats the boost hitting ? The engine is breathing alot easier when you fit a front mount the boost will change again. - to compensate for the better breathing that the exhaust side already has. Once you have both intake & exhaust breathing properly it should be fine from standard actuator. It would only increase a little if you had a boost controller - bleed valve as such. With the standard actuator it shouldn't. - but if it does as long as it doesnt go over 10 psi i wouldn't worrie to much. Jun
  4. Dumpipe - Deffiently a Yes & Noise factor not noticable. - Jeeeseee.. how much earlier do you want boost to come on :uhh: You need to take a ride in a Skyline with a big Turbo then you'll know what lag is otherwise i woudn't be complaining  Intercooler - I'd go front mount deffiently! Its really pointless upgrading to a R34 sidemount cooler as their only a little bit bigger. All that will not give you 170 - 180rwkw's on 10psi. - Inless you go frontmount around 12 psi of boost & a bigger fuel pump (to be on the safe side!) Yes stock ECU should be fine but after that sorta of power level you'll have to upgrade to a PFC or Wolf 3D etc. Jun
  5. The car was in Cairns - Has he moved up or on holiday ? Tuff33 - How much is he looking at selling it for ?
  6. YES! - Good Upgrade Their a must You will notice a fairly good power gain if you have stock ones on the then put the hks ones on. The engine will be breathing alot easier meaning you can run more boost with out back pressure etc. Jun
  7. If its got about 2 - 5 cms from the floor before enguaging its a aftermarket clutch. Its either ON or OFF no riding it - other wise bunny hop time! The throwout bearing makes a wineing noise with the clutch out on idle ? If you'r diff makes a clicking/ticking sound when you turn - going slow then its a locker diff.
  8. I wouldn't worrie about pod's too much as long as it does the job then its all good. HKS ones are fine just clean them every so ofter when it gets dirty. Othewise i would recomend the Blitz SUS pod their a realy good filter and give you that loud sucking sound that you like. K & N are good filters aswel, it depends on what you can afford and get you'r hands on at the time. Upto you ! Jun
  9. mutex, This may be the problem as its not tuned. Targa Tom, Good idea after long periods of boosting to cool cylinder's down also. Jun
  10. Wazz, I'd think that with the RB30 bottom end you'll have a lot more tourqe than the usual RB20 meaning you'r going to have big traction problems. - It's a very good idea just in you'r s13 it will be too much. But before that get you'r other mods done (front mount, boost etc) - Are you going to sell the RB20 ? Talk to you later tonight. - If you'r coming out ? :cheeers: Jun
  11. Is this car still for sale, Any Pictures ?
  12. Its fine under acceleration but after you lift you'r foot from the accelerator it jumps upto 100 knock.
  13. He said 0.8psi or did you mean 0.8bar Aeris ? Could be 1 of 2 things that Rob77 mentioned. Exhaust wheel is already in the cat or spring is flogged out on the actuator which carn't hold the gate "closed". Or maby the actuator arm has come of the gate's flap which is just staying open and not causing boost pressure to rise. - easy to check just have a look at the turbo and you'll see. Jun
  14. Hey Guys, In the R33 GTR with an FC is it normal for the knock level's to hit 100+ ? This only happens after you have just finished accelerating hard and have just backed off the throttle. Its running 14psi of boost which is controlled via the H/C. Jun
  15. More details ? Could be spark plugs, coils ? Electrical: Some sort of missfire from arking out wires, short circuirts ? Jun
  16. HKS SSQV make a high pitch sounds their good valve's, You can get all sorts turbosmart type II, Blitz BOV's Depends what you want or you can have no bov and have it plumbing back through the turbo which makes a flutter sound but its no good for you'r turbo after a while. (so i've herd) Jun
  17. Hi Marcus, I always thought that the FC came with base maps. - Inless its you'r translation  If the maps were deleted using the PFC laptop software this wouldn't save on to the FC it self could it ? Maby thats whats been done :uhh: Ask the bloke if you can install it into another car their and try it, or is that not possible ? Jun
  18. Their really good turbo's and its pretty damn hard to kill it on stock boost 7psi. But upping the boost from their will generate more heat meaning the exhaust wheel will fly into you'r cat. Its really hard to tell i've herd so many different turbo's fly apart on different boost level's some on 12psi some on 14psi some not at all on 14psi - this depends on out side temperatures. Simple rule: Dont boost you'r car for long periods of time on hot days and on high boost - keep it at 10psi and it'll be fine. But before boosting make sure you have all the components to go with it, exhaust dumpipe, front mount etc other wise you'r asking for trouble ! How ofter to replace them ? - You carn't give a turbo estimated time of death as it could let go when ever it feel's like it so it comes down to the way you drive. Buying them are usally around $500 second hand. (R33 RB25DET Turbo) Jun
  19. BOOSTD, I've seen a R34 GTT turbo on a R33 GTST and it went very well but it came on boost late 4500 is when it kick in hard but on the dyno you could see the response down lower which was not felt seat to pants. Not sure if its got anything to do with it not being a NEO engine but it was a very good turbo and it never had the exhaust wheel in cat disease. From being in 2 different car's i've noticed that the GT-T turbo stucks a lot harder than the gtst and didn't seem to die up top as much towards redline. You'd think that because the GTT turbo has nylon compressor wheel it is lighter which give faster spooling ? Jun
  20. 217/r33 On a stock RB20 it give's a little more lag (apparently). But i'd say with exhaust and the usual mods done it should be around the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Other wise physicaly putting a smaller turbo on then stock you are going backwards. If you want low down respone do the usual modification's - getting the engine breathing - exhaust, turbo dump pipe, front mount etc. You can fit an exhaust cam gear this can help with turbo spooling & response as can a tuned lenght exhaust manifold. How much bottom end do you want ? Go for a ride in a stock GTR their really no decent power up intil around 4k then it kicks in hard. As to compared to a gtst which has a alot more down low response. Ask SK, about the GTR cams in RB20 - Better still do a search their's lots on it Jun
  21. Does any one know the owner of the Red R33 with the kakimoto body kit, deep dish rims, GTR wing and number plates FAT 33, I seen it driving in town the other day looked awsome ! Is the owner on here ? Jun
  22. Nice ET & TS for stock form ! Fitting dumpie, full exhaust, front mount, more boost (14psi) and some decent tire's and pinapples to eliminate axle tramp. You should see a low to flat 13, maby a high 12 Slither's are a great car and easy power is gained from simple modification's as they are light that also heaps but then again taction is a big factor for light cars with decent power. Another got thing about the s15 is the bigger injectors - 480cc rather than 370's which are in the s13. Jun
  23. Guilty-Troy, Up here in the tropics i've never seen water temps go over 83ºc just after boosting on hot day's 30ºc + Then again as you said different front mount set up etc....
  24. Doesn't make a difference really air is lazy and will go around anything, Their's other object is the road after the intercooler eg: the cooling system for the airconditioner were the thermo fan bolts onto. I've seen + 1 - 2ºc max on a skyline were the airconditioning system has been removed and this car is fitted with a bar and plate cooler (79ºc operating temp) as were the other skyline with tube & fin cooler and airconditioning system in place it sits on (81ºc operating temp) - other factor's that can make a difference is that this car has a alliminium raditator so it could just be the raditator it self keeping the heat in. Inless you'r water temp temps start going up past 85+ then don't worrie too much. As for front bar you'll have to figure that out for you'r self, but usally a fair bit with that size cooler. Jun
  25. SR is a totaly different engine to a RB, 4 cylinder 2ltr - SR20DET 6 cylinder 2ltr - RB20DET They are a total different engine in the way the operate, their best use would be for drift as they are renown for the fast & agressive reving. Their not smooth like a RB. But i must say SR's can be very quick with little modification's as their only in a light silvia body Due to the SR's snappy response we have a one with a 700hp GT3540 on it and it has little to no lag. - Very surprising for a small engine with such a large turbo. But if you were to put one of them on a RB20 it would be lag monster ! Jun
