  1. Arias forged pistons seem to work 100% fine. As for rods you can do a combination of Arias pistons & Standard 25 rods and crank - Cheep option - but this limits you with reving your car past 7k - also your stock interal head limits that aswel (valve's & springs etc) Better way to go would be: Arias Forged Pistons & RB26 rods with standard crank. - with balancing etc. - You can rev upto 8000 rpm easily. - need some head work though. Or expensive option is: Arias Forged Pistons and Forged conrods. I've fround that Crower & eagle do good rods at reasonable prices. Other brands of pistons. Arias Venoli - Not sure on spelling Wiseco HKS JUN Grex Tomei - etc you get the drift. hope that helps, Jun
  2. I personaly would do internals aswel. A set of forged pistons etc. As you will save muking around later down the track when you will have to pull out the engine to get it bored & honed. To make the most of your set up i'd do internals, As for steve's car their are other components that have made he's engine reliable - Lower compression = less detination. but too low compression also = slug coming onto boost, so you have to weigh it up. So an aftermarket head gasket is what i would reccommend. If you do internals now you'll thank your self later. - Trust me - depend on your $$$ aswel, so its up to you at the end of the day. other than that its a very good package and show'd go very well. Jun
  3. I want footage & a graph Other than that nice result
  4. Should be good. I'd say around 230 - 260rwkw's ? on 14 psi Jun
  5. You carnt machine it your self but you can assemble it your self . You need the right tention settings for rods bolts and heads bolts and other things. Just be careful putting rings on pistons beceause if they break you have to buy whole new set of pistons because you carnt get them seperate - That i know of. I'd go forged pistons to keep your enigne stronger so it lasts in the long run. Jun
  6. A set of forged pistons will do you good in the long run and your engine will last you a long time. New head gasekt - $400 Pistons/Rings - $1600 Machiening and balancing - $1000 - $2500 which can include other things that might need doing. Standard rods will be fine at 250rwkw's If your going to do it once mose well do it proerply and put a set of forged pistons in it Jun
  7. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually make that 5 pumps for me in total. A couple of guys i know are after one so saves them making a new account etc. Cam -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8. Well done, Got a graph that we can look at
  9. Yes No, :uhh: The stock RB25 turbo wont handel much over 14psi for long periods of time. Before you put the exhaust wheel into the cat. If that doesnt happen the turbo will over spin and you will lose power. Best safe efficency for a RB25 stock turbo would be around 10 - 12psi Other than that. Its fairly simple job, Just have to re-seal gasekts - If their still good other wise if their broken get new ones. Dont loose the copper washers for your water lines - you need 2 washers on each line. Jun
  10. Did the engine have coolant already in side it ?
  11. Get the cams changed, to the suited ones for a R33 CAS. Time wasting and a pain in the A$$ but its the only other option if the FC doesnt work with the R34 cas. Have you done a sensor check on your FC ?
  12. You should be able to get the wheel re-placed not the whole turbo.
  13. What is your start duty set to. This can able you to spike your boost or under spike it. might help level out your graph a little bit.
  14. Hi Guys, Just after part numbers for: Power steering Alternator A/C RB25DET Jun
  15. When you accelerate your pressure goes up. And as others said on cold starts it will go high intil warmed up then drop down to about 4. 3 sounds a little low, Might be the oil your running ? Other than that sounds normal. Jun
  16. Whats the T piece for ? Are you running a external wastegate or stock set-up ? For stock set up it should go from your intercooler pipe/turbo/serge tank or were ever you have it plumbed into. That goes to [NC] on the avc-r solinoid and [COM] goes to turbo actuator. Check your F/B control if this is too high you will get spikes. And as other's said adjust your duty cycle to get your boost to what its set at. Jun
  17. Is it an option from the factory in the series 2 1996mdl + ?
  18. If your getting 13 psi difference usally indicates you are losing a bit of compression with worn out ring lands and it will only get worse.... eg: testing RB25 Piston 1 - 160psi Piston 2 - 163psi Piston 3 - 162psi Piston 4 - 161psi Piston 5 - 162psi Piston 6 - 150psi - Doesn't look to good! Maby you can get away with a little more slack but on an old engine you carn't have 1 cylinder down a fair bit eg 13psi down and the rest fairly even It can result in time for a rebuild. Not sure on what guage it was but just compression test. Had one RB25 with cylinder number 6 on 0psi compression !!! :headbang: - I dont know how the thing started, it ran like a hairy goat :uh-huh: Jun
  19. A member on here Steve has 321rwkw's on stock internals. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ht=results+3037
  20. Extream 5 Puk single plate clutch with pressure plate, Sprung center - Around $800
  21. I'm pretty sure the malpassi is the replacement for the old regulator near the strut tower. On the malpassi their should be a in and out and a hole for a fuel pressure guage, you have to block that up if you dont have one. Jun
  22. haha good stuff The propper tool if you have it is called a lock rich wrench. - Not sure how much they are. Its not that difficult to change fuel pump, takes about 1hr in and out. - With a bit of muking around aswel. Good guide! :uh-huh: Jun
  23. The coil pack's are differnt. On the series 1 their is a little box at the back of the motor and on series 2 their isnt any little black box. The CAS looks a little different to the series 2. - only minor features. The colour of the engine rocker covers. Series 1 are darker cover and series 2 are shinier silvery colour. Look at the Nissan Japan Co manufactory plate or compliance plates You can look for the ABS system in the right hand conor of engine bay. - Series 2 The rear wing and body kit is different, steering wheel is different, seats are different 1995 - 1996 mdls. Air bag on series 2's I carnt think of anything else. Jun
  24. Yes, Exhaust is a good place to start. Yes it will most likley suck hot air from the engine bay but if you have a cold air intake pipe coming from under neath your front bar into your engine bay - Under Pod filter, This can help with the suck of hot air problem. Jun
  25. As long as its fairly even across all the cylinders they should be right. Should vairy about 1 - 3 psi max each cylinder. Jun
