  1. Yes you can buy a whole brand new cluster or you can just buy the speedo sepeartly, Its cheaper just to buy the speedo by it self. The most common brand of aftermarket speedo is Nismo. I've seen blitz speedo's aswel.
  2. Maby because of the weight difference ? But you would think the 4WD would give you advantage around conors, also depends on suspension set-ups, tires, sway bar etc.
  3. Theirs a user on here that supplies them, Doctor Drift or somthing along thoes lines ?
  4. Valve Guide clearance: The vale should be approx 15mm from valve guide hole into combustion chamber you can measure it by using a dial guage. - If thats what your were talking about ? You'll proberly need to adjust the timing on a cam gear for the cams to work properly. The RB25 ones bolt up and are perfect with out adjusting but the RB26 do need adjusting with cam gear. Dont forget the seals for the camshafts. If you are installing the valves your self were safety glasses and gloves because the exhaust valves a filled with metal lic sodium and if exposed to eyes you can have eye dammage. Jun
  5. .40 thou over
  6. To change the fuel pump its pretty straight foward. ***Disconect Battery First*** It's located in the boot next to the battery and below HICAS ecu. you'll have to take the metal cover off and their should be a round black lid like a cookie jar lid. Take the hoses off (They can be very tight) you need to use a lock ring wrench to remove the lock. (black lid) as its very tight. Once you take that off lift the lid up and remove the fuel line and the plug connecting to the underside of the lid. Then remove the fuel pump buy pulling upwards and remove the fuel level guage - as its connected to the fuel pump. But once its out you can disconect the connect that joins it to the guage and the pump. Then to put the pump back in, Same procedure just opposite way. When putting the pump back in their should be little brackets inside the tank you have to mount the fuel pump on it so the sock on the end is in to deepest part of the tank. The torqe settings for the lock ring (black lid) are: 30 - 35 N-m or 3.1 ~ 3.6 kg-m Their should be 3 little lines to the top right of the fuel pump on the body of the car. You have to line that up with the mark on the lock ring. When you put the metal cover back on the arrow on top should be facing towards the front of the car. hope that helps, Jun
  7. Their ain't no drag stip in cairns. Are you refering to the speed way ? Since when can you run 8 sec 1/4 mile pass around a doughnut shaped track ! If their is a drag strip in cairns I'd love to know were it is What cars are you refering to that will not bring you any challenge ? V8's ? Imports ? Their are some very quick V8's around and some Skylines/Silvias aswel. I have nothing against you'r idea it is a great one, Just its a lot of time & money you'll have to spend doing it. But im sure their are other little things involved that you havn't realised yet. You'r decision. Jun
  8. What could be giving the different sound ? Different manifolds pistons (Arias) Rods ? Using stock crank! Yeh sounds identical to the GTR from 2 Fast 2 Furious. - Listen to that and the to a stock GTST. ------------------------------------------------------------- Pistons slap isn't good! You'll have to get your block re-sleved, to fit the pistons properly or get a new bottom end. But thats new ring lands, head gasket, seals etc. Pain in the assss!! Just hope its not that and only somthing minor
  9. Awsome, Good to see the R34 GTR's going down the 1/4 mile and pulling off some good times
  10. Is it using lots of oil, and does the miss come and go when ever it wants ? If its non of the above i'd be getting a compression test done, Sounds very similar to what happened to a R33 here. Found out piston number 6 was gooonne.... But we hope that may not be the case. Could just be your earth wires on your AFM, no earthed properly to the body of the car. Jun
  11. If your really that keen to know, it might change the sound of the engine when its up on high rev's to compared to a stock GTR. We have an RB25 with forged o/size pistons and aftermarket rods that sounds like the R34 GTR from 2 fast 2 furious. doesnt have that smooth purr of the stock RB25 anymore, this is with standard cams aswel. Jun
  12. You can get these from Perth, Not sure from who but their very good.
  13. And your point ? Look at GTR700 and HKS R33 and a lot of other skylines in Japan that run 8 so were both even. Plus manual is more fun The only advantage with auto is that you will get constant quarter mile runs but you will eventually have problems with it slipping out of gear not working properly etc.(stock auto box) but if you have that much money to spend why dont you buy me a 8 second Skyline ? :jester: Manual is more of a challenge by trying to get a potential 8 second skyline down the strip can be a handful. Ovbiously your not up for a real challenge thinking that putting a GTR engine in a Gtst with an auto box is. If your aim is to build an 8 sec GTS-T i hope it goes well, but if you think you have one of the quickest car in Cairns by owning a 300kw GTR and saying theirs no challenges up here you'r dreaming. I dont believe it intil i see it -----and what is rong with running the engine stoc puting out 300 rwhp----- ? Read what you said before that. -----and not sure on my hp to rwkw conversion but isnt 390hp less than the R33 GTS-T puts out stock standard----- Jun
  14. No :slap: Why would you want to put a GTR motor in a auto GTST ? At least make it manual!
  15. The skyline owners up here hardly know what they have brought never lone trying to tune them. (Thats not aimed at Muz & Keagle)
  16. This can also depend on what type of modifications you wish to do to the car or what you want the car to have, and what the car coms with. If it comes with turbo upgrade, bigger fuel pump, aftermarket ecu, boosted lots etc. - Then its deffiently been thrashed. If it comes with, Pod filters, Suspension, stock boost, Exhaust, Rims, BOV then it shouldn't be too bad won't be thrashed as much and internals wont have had as much ware. Jun
  17. You can pick up an Extream (not sure of spelling) Clutch for around $750 that comes with pressure plate an 5 puk clutch plate. Bites hard, doesn't slip. :wavey:
  18. Yeh.. what car  If its RB25 I'd say around 268.5rwkw's
  19. Thats not as bad as being down the engine rebuild road :uhh: I'd Go the stock GTR then you'll have a more reliable car and can save for modifications later. - Time of car off road maby a day or two getting a work shop doing it. - Lots of fun and you can learn lots if you do it your self. Modified GTR as others have said you'r running the risk of getting a thrashed car and it going bang on you. - Time of car off road, New pistons and what ever else you want, at least 1 mth + but thats if you have the money ready to go. Other wise you'll be saving for a lot longer, you get the idea! (money wise you looking at around $4000min forged pistons + head gasket + oil + oil filters + machining, Balancing & labour etc. Now your back at square one with the same engine just stronger internals. - No fun in modifying and you dont get to feel the performance power gains as mentioned above. But you could get lucky and get a genuine modified GTR. - You'll have a hard time finding a good condition 1989 mld R32. If anything I'd go 1994 mdl R32 Your decision. Jun
  20. Thats not leaning out!! This is :headbang:
  21. Your friends just un co-ordinated :jk: Theirs nothing hard to changing the boost settings on the PFC just a matter of setting the duty cycle right too the amount of boost you want to run.
  22. You were refering to the stock internal wastegate in your earlier posts. - Well thats what i though anyway. External wastegates sound sweet when they go off underboost, Just its frigging loud when its opening (when you dont have it plumbed into dumpie) :headbang:
  23. Did it do the same with the 3040 ? The 2835 might be too small for the wastegate.
  24. Very Nice R32, I just hope its not dodgy dealing. Look fairly genuine though.
