  1. These ebay advertisments are jokes, I dont think I've seen a decent, legit Japanese Import or Performance part for sale on their.
  2. I'll tell you know that turbo will not give you 500hp at the wheels. Its internal wastegated and the exhaust wheel is way to small to flow that much air. Whats with the massive compressor housing and small exhaust housing ?
  3. Designed for today's heavy duty diesel applications engine with ratings from 130 to 260kW is the Garrett T45 / T51 turbocharger. Characteristics include: High response turbines Engine-oil-lubricated hydrodynamic bearings Non contact dynamic seals Divided turbine housing Variable nozzle turbine (optional) Center housing mount (optional) Custom selected compressors/turbines for optimum flow efficiency, pressure ratio and transient performance (optional) Ultra high pressure ratio (future option) Mixed flow turbine (future option) http://turbotech.com.au/garrett3.htm
  4. The air shouldnt be going back through the turbo if you have a bov, Inless you have the bov too tight or its blocked some how ? the the hole purpose of a bov is to stop the air going back through the turbo, which can cause lag between gear shifts. So i'm not to sure whats happening here. Is the BOV making a high pitch noise after letting the throttle off at high rpm ?

  6. Yeh thats how they work the valve goes in and not out. Tighten it up by un-tightening the black screw head closes to the blow off valve as a lock then using a spanner or socket tighten the one furthest away, make sure it goes in and not out. the re tighten the other one back up to lock it. This will make it hard to open the valve under boost pressure and it will make a psshhtt in stead of flutter.
  7. Its not really a yes or no answer but it comes down to wheather you want a reliable engine or not, an engine thats going to last 5 years or 1 year. I carnt really predict the life of an engine but its upto you if you want forged pistons or not. In my opinion; If your going to do it once do it properly, saves you pulling out the engine later on in the future.
  8. Here we go. (1) Tighten to 29N-m {3kg-m} (2) Tigheten to 98N-m {10kg-m} (3) Loosen to 0N-m {0kg-m) (4) Tighten to 25-34N-m {2.5-3.5kg-m} (5) Tighten to 93 - 103N-m {9.5 - 10.5kg-m}
  9. Yeh is the wreck still for sale ?
  10. try .7 gap, It sounds like spark plugs because in less boost it doesnt miss as you stated. Could also be coil packs, Try taping the rubber boot up with electrical tape so the spark doesnt ark out under load.
  11. Yeh no worries i'll track them down for you.
  12. The only problem i have come across is the RPM guage not work for some reason, (RB20det into silvia) - Using standard silvia guages.
  13. Do you need the tension settings for the head bolts ?
  14. If anyone has a gtr with hks, trust internal wastegated turbo, bigger injectors, fuel pump, etc. Would it be possible to post your ign & inj maps ?
  15. Use the seach button its been covered plently of times.

  17. a/f ratios of 20 on idle ? should be around 14 on idle. I'd say too much boost (too much air) no enough fuel so its leaning out. so the verdict would be fuel system. try the bigger pump and if that doesnt work your up for injectors.
  18. I agree with merli, The 2 lines over the tail lights on the R34 look a bit gamon, but the rest is great
  19. You answered 1 of my questions, dude its pretty hard to narrow down the problem with out the facts, but from what you have given me it could be a number of things. blocked injectors, fuel pump & too much boost - 15psi is too high for stock fuel system. Try a bosch 044 pump if that doesnt fix your problem then you need bigger injectors or to get them flow tested.
  20. Try taping up your coil packs with electrical tape. around the rubber boot so the spark doesnt ark out.
  21. Yeh mate what were the a/f ratios, what boost you were you running and how much power did you put out ?
  22. Heres the exhaust side of the R34GTT turbo. Apparently that orange colouration is from runing octane booster. Gordo: The exhaust side on your turbo looks really clean. You can still see the white balancing marking on the fins. Have you cleaned it or has the turbo hardley been used ?
  23. Its been done before, theirs one in a HPI GTST special, the issue with JMS's red R33.
  24. And a high flow Stock R33 turbo, You can tell its highflowed because of the thin wall on the intake compresser side and on the exhaust side its machiened right out to the edge of the exhaust housing. Don't mind the bent fins on the intake side, they have scince been replaced with new ones. the bent fins were from thoes crazy japs running the car with out a pod filter.
