  6. sweet 2rismo... thats good with the video were sort of doing a project to see how much we can get out of the standard ecu and will most likley tape it and post on the net. i dunno if this has been said but what modifications are on your car.

Hi, My brothers RB25DET is still playing silly buggers with us. it has a missfire.. tends to looses cylinders and blows lots of white smoke (when the car is hot or cold) and when idling and under some or heavy accelleration we took the rocker covers off today and found that cylinder 6 is dry and has a low compression of 50 - 75 not sure what thats measured in i think its 600kpa or somthing like that.... any way we blocked it up with a screw driver and kicked it over (no start just kicked it) and when its fully closed (the hole were the spark plug goes in) it doesnt fire no compression... but when you just rest it in their (screw driver) it goes pshhtt pshht saying their compression... (weird) and way were check cylinder 1 and 2 and they were coverd in oil.... the worst thing is that its blowing white smoke and when you kick it over lots of white smoke (burnt oil smell) comes out of the back of the block through the cam shaft were thinking their could be a hole in the block or somthing because when you listen carefuly you can here it going chuff chuff chuff as if its going going down to the sump and coming back through the top ? i've got some photos to show you were its coming out of hope you guys can help becuase we carnt drive it on boost any more because on cylinder 6 were the spark plug screws in the top of the thread in the block is gone and the spark plug doesnt go in very well!!!   11. yeah, any one got a diagram for the correct wiring ? we fixed the afm it was the earth wires... but it hasent fixed the miss common guys we need to know what this is because its so frustrating driving under 3000rpm Cheers
  12. when we took the turbo off all the coolent drained out of the water line and it was fine.. maby a little bit of oil not much though. we just took the air flow meter wires off and replaced them because they have been dogyed up with wires sticking out everwere.. and it wont start now... but when we unpluged it, it starts ??? but wont rev over a certain point can anyone help ?   14. have searched and theirs nothing on fixing my problem... but their was some helpful hints we also have a lot of white smoke pouring out the exhaust when give it some and a little when ideling ? what do you mean by the ground of the coilpack ?

  16. its not the air flow meter because we have tried another one and it still misses.... today its doing its really bad its missing when its ideling and it was running on 5 cylinders but then their was no miss through the rpm ? but then it started mising through rpm and it ram on 6 cylinders again ? weird.... it stalls a lot too when you push the clutch in 3rd or 4th gear and take your foot off the accelerator, the rpm just goes down to zero intill you take your foot off the clutch then it jump starts it self !!! hope you guys can come up with some answer cause its gettings quiet frustrating..... cheers, Cameron

Hey, got a 95 Gtst with standard boost and the usuall front mount, exhaust, pod etc: any way we have a bad missfire, changed plugs, gaps, coils and it still occurs this is what its like. turn the car on works fine go for drive and so on. then turn car off and go for lunch and so on then come back and turn it back on it has a weird sort of idle it will gurgle and surg intill you give it a bit of throttle then it'll idle fine ? any way off we go then it will start missing some times at 3k and sometimes at 4krpm and it wont go over it, cause it was that bad. sometimes it'll have a little miss at about 4krpm then it'll pull to redline. other times it'll just work fine and not miss at all ??? it does this in all gears and even in neutral, doesnt matter how much throttle you give it even if you ease it on of put it flat it'll still miss bad. last month we had it missing really bad (on empty tank fuel) we had the bonnet up looking for leaks and reved it up it was missing then all of a sudden a huge bang(back fire)!!!! their was smoke everywere (white) it sounded like a gun shoot. it did that twice intill we went to the survo and put some petrol in it.... it worked fine after that didnt miss intill later on maby about 1 or 2hr's later it started missing again? Got some new NGK double platnim iridium tips in their and pulled plug number 6 out and it had a crack in it, it was black too.... and their only been their 3 weeks ??? the rest were fine. what could this be ? were are using an avc-r boost controller and it does it even if its off or on.... thanks in advance.
  19. we noting trying for power we were just seing what the difference in mods made to the car. unfortunaly we live 4hr's away from the nearest track so its not every week we can make it out their. with the first list of mods in my first post (with out the miss firing as we fixed it) we got a 14.1 pass on the quarter at 103mph on street tires. but we had a really really bad slipping clutch. So were going to take it down again next month and see what the outcome is. were hoping for a high 13 or better
  20. Hey just got back from the dyno and it was done on the same dyno as last time (shoot-out mode). I'll post the graph tonight. We got a max of 184.5rwkw's (247.4hp at rear wheels) on the last run. that was with some more boost. but the a/f ratios were going stupid. With the last run we were running 14.5psi which the a/f ratios were leaning right out to 30.0 which isent good. but on 12psi we got a/f ratios of 12.4 so we left the boost on 12 intill we can get bigger fuel pump and injectors. if thats the problem? We are pretty happy with the results going from 162rwkw's to 184.5 rwkw's just in (front mount, 3" dumpie.) and in a month or 2 were gonig to bolt on a bigger turbo and do fuel pump and so on and chuck it back on the dyno
  21. if we got 170rwkw's i'd be dissapointed im aiming for around 180 - 200rwkw any one else with similar mods what KW's did you get ?

Hi everyone, Last year at a car show we got our R33 dynoed with the following mods, hks bov, cat back 3" fujitsubo exhaust system, turbo smart boost controller (red one), blitz sus pod filter and 12 psi on stock turbo, ecu and intercooler. At that time we had the problem of a miss fire because of the spark plugs not gaped to .7 so it was missing on the dyno but we still got 162rwkw on a hot day. we also had a slipping clutch Tomorrow were taking it in again on the same dyno to see what we have gained. the list below are the mods that we have added to the top. Heavy duty clutch, 3" dump pipe, FMIC, high flow cat, 14psi of boost. - we have reset the ecu after installing all of these mods. i'll post the dyno graphs tomorrow. What do you guys/girls expect i would get with these new mods ?
  23. yup i think their both stock. ones a series 2 turbo and ones a series 1 turbo. i think that the series 2 is the big fins and the series 1 is the double fins. both of my bros have R33's and they each have one of thoes turbos as show in the pics.
