Can Someone Identify This Gearbox?
Sammy B replied to Sammy B's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just checked the plate on the firewall, appears it did used to be auto (reads RE4R01a) Working fine, but the clutch is on it's way out, so the box has gotta come out either way (just a matter of whether it goes back in or not) -
Can Someone Identify This Gearbox?
Sammy B replied to Sammy B's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
No, I have not had it fasted. That may help work out if it was perviously auto, but I still have no solid idea what that gearbox is from. Also if it is a ca/sr box is there any reason why I shouldnt continue using it? Any thing i should check/pictures i could take to help determine what it is? -
Hey all, Ive got a 32gtst with a standard rb20 in it, and what i thought was the standard box, but have been told this is not an RB20 box. Just trying to work out what it is, and if it's ok to continue using it in my car/or what I should sell it as. Notice the gearbox is mounted using only 2 holes, and also the shifter sits slightly forward: Any help would be great, Cheers - Sam

Cheers for your help guys, just wanted to clarify that
-
^^possibly, would like to clear it up anyway. Thanks for the info, still doesnt explain what I have though, my turbo has two boost nipples (a cross between the two above pics) like this: why would there be two istead of one? And is this normal to run from both nipples to the acutator?
-
Hey guys, just a quick question. I have a vg30 turbo in my R32, and noticed it has 2 lines (instead of just one) coming from the front housing into to a t-pice then to the wastgate ) Whereas the two pictured below only have one or the other (mine had both) Can anyone one tell me the difference(s) between these two vg30 turbos? I assume theyre both the same as they're both on the same side of the housing, but I'd like to know as Im installing a manual boost controller between them. Any help would be appreciated, cheers

wtb: used hicas lock bar for R32. cheers
