Hey all, (yes i did a search). im wanting to get some floormats for me 93 GTS skyline, im sorta hoping that its possible to get the standard sorta ones, so they fit the floor of the car correctly etc. Is it possible to get these anymore ? Can ya get em made for a decent price or is it a rip off? Where abouts could i get them from? How much am i looking at for a Full set of 4. ? (2 front 2 rear.) if ya cant get em anymore, is there a set of floor mats that people find look damned good, and fit correctly. cheers folks.

i feel ya 2GU UP ... i get the speeding thing all the time, even if i do go 10km over limit, i let it fall back down almost straight away (i love heavy acceleration).

i used to have a mazda 929 84 coupe, had it insured as 3rd party for a year, (first car) and just recently got my skyline NA, and i think im on 20% NCB already and having to pay $1900 a year full cover with Western QBE. (its only because i was a previous member with them, that they would insure me again).

i wouldnt risk putting it in ure dads name, even if u are the "2nd driver" cus if they realise the car is ures and u drive it, not ure dad, even those few days a week. they will stuff u up and try turn it into some sort of "invalid" thing. i dunno, ive heard alot of stories about people getting raped with costs because they crash after having it in mum or dads name.

sif they would PTR33, its cus its an import they wanna crack the shits. its like ive been yelled at like twice by people around my suburb yellin out "SLOW DOWN or STOP SPEEDING" and all i do is get to speed quick. like today got to like 60km/h backed off, got down to 50 in a second or so and they yelled at me... im like GET F&*KED!

cheers guys, yeah well i really dont think being a mechanic is what i want. so im gonna try stay interested in engines etc (which i am) but i just dont wanna work on them and fix things day in and day out.

yeah ive heard the IT industry is a waste of time, hence why i didnt do it after yr12, cus it woulda been easy for me to do it cus i can use computers pretty well. I knew that everyone was doing IT and the jobs were filling it so i thought stuff it, i need something else to do. Im thinkin about getting good at airbrushing and my drawing, and then combine the two and do anime/manga style artwork on cars. ... i dunno yet. but whilst im doing nothing, i may aswell brush up on it all. to check out my old pics (havent drawn for a while now... a good 6 months or so) www.southwest.com.au/~mirks/Manga

yeah thats how i got my current part time job, through a friend. i was basically hired before i even got there for the interview. My qualifications are about this. Completed and graduated yr12, have a buncha of certificates for worksafe, have a cert 2 in IT and just completed cert 1 in pre-apprenticeship automotive mechanic. Ive worked as a delivery guy, storeman and set up displays and stock on showroom floor (family business), now i work as a cleaner at kwinana powerstation. and thats about it, done work exp at shacks holden, a dunlop tyre and service centre and at import scene in wangara.

well i had a look in the paper, just for an idea on whats out there, and to me most the things in there sounded quite boring. Like receptionist this and that, and half the jobs you needed experience in the area etc. this is gonna be a real prick of a thing deciding what i wanna do. i just know it

ahaha, yeah I.T. is all well and good, i mean i could do it easily, its just that i rekon i might get bored of sittin in front of a computer all day, who knows. But yeah ive got a part time job, and with working 3 hrs a day i would actually earn more than what i would working fulltime as an apprentice. i think i will have to look in the paper. Someone suggested airbrushing cars and creating decals and vinyls, sounds interesting cus i like drawing and art sorta stuff, if i can get a nack for it.

Hey everyone, after finally finishing my tafe course (pre-app auto mechanic) and doing some work experience ive realised that is not worth becoming a mechanic (no offense to those who are.) I just think that the little pay that is recieved is a joke, considering when doing an apprenticeship half the time you could be treated like crud (depending on the place u goto) and u get ure ass worked off. Work experience also showed me that, being a mechanic... is just not for me. Anyways, ive come out of the course knowing more about cars than what i did when i went in, which is exactly what i wanted. Now i want to find a job doing something else, but im unsure what is out there that has decent pay, fairly fun and that would interest me. Im just looking for ideas, so if you have some (seriously ... dont want random "jokes"), please put em down here, or PM me... either way. It'd be much appreciated. I just dont wanna end up sitting around the house for 6 months like i did after yr 12, its just boring and not worth it. I wanna get out there and start puttin away some $$bling bling$$ Cheers for any help people!

instead of wasting a whole thread and annoying the people that are ACTUALLY talking seriously in it, why dont you post a warning first, telling certain people to stop whoring. If they continue you can ban them for a day or week ... or u can close the thread if you have warned people and they have continued. I know this msg in itself is a warning to the users on the board, BUT, i still think it would be more fair for the people talking seriously if the persons whoring were pointed out, and asked to cease doing so. that way the more serious conversations can continue. Ive seen many topics go to waste because they are closed because of some twit that spams random crap and the rest suffer from it.

its a shame you cant keep the cars though, like u can only have on car at a time, then u have to trade it in for another... bit dumb in that respect.

more rep gives u more style points when u do something got the game yesterday loving it so far, just went and swapped me civic for the 240sx, and having a hard time adjusting to the not so good handling, compared to the civic.

dude, you could always goto a dealer, and PRETEND, that your interested in buying one... i did that about 4-5 months before i actually had the money to go and buy one.

Ive just finished doing a pre-apprenticeship course at Fremantle Tafe and am really keen to get out there and start learning more about our beautiful imports.
