You get used to it before you demolish your first pride and joy (you have no idea how many first turbo cars get written off). I run a NA R34 with RB25DE Neo, my costs are: Fuel: $60-$95 per 500 KMs on Premium 98 (prices vary, I use Shell VPower with Coles -8c dockets ), I fill up twice a week so $150-$200 P/w for me for suburban driving, squeezed out 600KMs Rego: Whatever RMS charges, about $250-300 for me plus custom plates Insurance: 3rd Part fire and theft, about $650-750, Comprehensive is a good $2.3k+ however long you've held your license for (had a quote for $6K fresh off my P's ) That's just figures for my R34 non turbo automanual as a daily car to and from work and plenty of casual driving, regular starts and stops, maybe a few little launches but other than that, no burnouts, no speeding, no revs and suburban driving. Gives you an idea.

Would you by any chance be using Sikaflex? Cause if you are, there's your problem. Sikaflex melts under heat and will give way, you need to get yourself Permatex High Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, available at your local supercheap for about $25 mark. It's in a plastic silicone tube with red print, so you'll also need a silicone gun as well. These are designed to do the job. Goodluck getting rid of the gearbox oil smell. I had it spill allover me and I smelt like shit for a good week even after daily showers.

The beep is faster when you have your headlights on, beep is slower when you have the lights off with the key in. Same tone as reversing but at different intervals. Shotty one for myself! And yes, I assume it is for the lights to turn on automatically when it gets dark, as there are no other options that would make the lights work auto besides a feature where an oncoming vehicle, it will dip the HIDs a bit, but there are no sensors in the lights for this feature. Will buy one and post results
