In answer to questions, the engine doesn't stall when idling in neutral or in drive when stationary only when applying a small amount of revs when starting to move; engine rpm drops off suddenly when the power cuts out; no aftermarket BOV is fitted; idle rpm in neutral with handbrake and no a/c is 750rpm, with a/c on start up goes to 900rpm then drops to 800rpm. Sunday is my only day off work so will try and do the checks suggested then.

I have a 1997 Series 1 RB25DET engine on my Stagea and since receiving the vehicle over 2 years ago have had a problem with the engine cutting out intermittently. Only seems to happen when the A/C is running and the accelerator is slightly feathered after idling (in slow moving traffic for instance). A couple of trips to the local mechanic have not resolved the problem so any assistance would be appreciated.

I came across this website yesterday, surprised to see that Stagea's are so well supported. I've been using a 1997 RS Four as a site car in Micronesia for the last couple if years and given it quite a lot of stick, need to keep it going for another year to see this project through. Suppose you could add this to the spotted list
