  2. i have it on good authority that it will be well looked after
  3. what about www.tempetyres.com.au? they are over east but they deliver to perth.
  4. still got the AFM? how much?
  5. no car damage again!!
  6. i will more than likely have a freshly rebuilt one soon which ill be selling for $2kish. just have to get around to dropping it off for the rebuild.
  7. you paid $1000 for pfc, injectors, afms and a tune?
  8. its cool i sorted it out. its definitely not the valve, coz i dont have a valve! ive ordered a standard R33 vac line from nissan because it has the valve inside the line, plus its only $23 and i dont have to get off my ass to find one from a wrecker.
  9. a friend is trying to get some support for his venture into WA politics. his initial thread in the WA section was canned by dan_the_man and he was told to contact Prank because it was "advertising". prank would not reply to any messages and dan_the_man would only tell him to contact prank. subsequently my friend made another thread to point people to threads on other forums regarding the same thing. incidently every other forum he has posted on has been more than supportive, especially given what he is trying to achieve. that second thread was binned and his account suspended for a month can prank or another mod (preferably not dan_the_man as he has been singularly unhelpful) please contact my friend (username saf) to discuss the issue rather than ignore him altogether?
  10. with regard to the gbox, a friend has a 26 in an r32 gtst with 507rwhp and ran an rb20 box for quite a while. it was daily driven, he did a few track days and took it to the drags once or twice. was only starting to get a bit notchy and noisy after well over a year.
  11. here in WA you arent allowed anything over 7" wide, unless it came from the factory with wider and then you arent allowed any wider than what it came form the factory with. also here in WA to get an engineers cert you just call the licensing dept and get a list of approved engineers and give one of them a call...
  12. morning kids as the topic suggests im having some trouble with my brakes. ive got a silvia with an rb25det conversion, including a complete r33 brake system. this only happens on the track and doesnt cause a great problem but obviously id still like to fix it... if im at the top of a gear at the braking point at the end of a straight for instance and i jump on the brakes, the power is there at first and then bleeds away as if the engine has died. the brakes still work but theres just no assistance. i cant remember if the power comes back towards the end of the braking but it is back to normal by the next corner. from what i understand there is a check valve in the booster that should stop air coming in. but if that wasnt working then shouldnt i lose all power assistance whenever im on boost? there is one vac line going from the plenum to the booster but there is also a barb connection on the side of the master cyl that has nothing connected to it... should it? if that valve is the problem can i put a suitable one way valve in the vac line or should i just find another booster unit?
  13. tenagah motorsport have some coming in
  14. whether or not there is a marginal increase in power is irrelevant really, you dont install a fmic for a direct power gain. you install one to allow you to run more boost. and to look sik.
  15. best to have them hooked up to a switch that comes on at a certain temp. i have mine set to come on at 83deg and turn off at 80 so they only come on if im sitting at traffic lights for a while or something. thermos on a cooler would be kinda pointless... you need a cooler because turbos heat up the air when it is compressed. sitting at a set of lights theres no boost so no heating of the air.
  16. the factory valve plumbs it back in on the other side of the turbo, so the air ends up in the same place but doesnt have to force its way back through the compressor wheel to get there... there are aftermarket plumb backs that are fine too
  17. basically it vents air to the atmosphere that has been measured by the afm which means fuel has been supplied for that air and its not there anymore. so theres briefly too much fuel and you get a puff of smoke.
  18. fwiw my rb25 has similar mods but with safc and 12psi and made 179rwkw (240hp) on the hyperdrive dyno.
  19. in gt3 you cant get full lock steering unless you are rolling at like walking pace so how do peopl drift effectively? in gt4 its probably the same otherwise you would have to have a feather touch on the joystick. unless youve got the driving force pro steering wheel
  20. Amuse CarbonR (carbon fibre R34) just coz i dont think anyones posted one yet
  21. yes but redrawing from your mortgage means you are paying it off over 30 years instead of 5 so you will pay more interest than a personal loan. make extra repayments and you will be much better off though.
  22. another one here with avcr and im undecided. i found if i turn the learning off its a lot more stable even without tuning. i agree that it is complex and im sure its awesome if you spend 7.5 hours tuning it but all im after is stable boost. iraq to myself would be pretty cool though...
  23. lsd and minispool? impressive...
