R30_turbo

looking to by cheap FM cooler to plumb into standard piping so i want the inlet and outlet to be on the same side of the cooler. Piping for other cars useful to trim and re fit.

1984 DR30 RS-X FJ20DET Intercooled limited edition. Last model DR30 with biggest brakes and most power made with higher compression and intercooler that the RS model lacks. Re-Built bottom end about 1 yeard ago. HKS pod filter HKS 3in exhaust with straight through cat pipe HKS Exhaust cam Nismo Gear Knob Sports Wheel Recaro Bucket seat GFB Blow off valve GFB Boost controller KYB Adjustable Shocks Enkei Racing Wheels 16in with good tires all round 1 Way Machanical Diff (excellent for drifting) Some $500 Pioneer CD player and Jaycar 6x9's Iridium tip plugs only done about 5000 km's Newish brake pads Clean Body work with good white paint. Registered as a 2 seater and has no back seats or restraints but is carpeted and has speaker mounted in board in place of the backrest in the back seat. Serviced only with fully synth oil every 5-8000kms Also comes with exhaust to get car through regency if defected. Car just Passed Road Worthy. Made 126kw at the wheels with standard front pipe and 7.5 PSI of boost and cat in. With full exhaust and about 1 bar make approx 150kw at the wheels without front mount, good for about 170kw with better cooler. Hey, i have an 1984 Paul Newman HR30 and i'm having some problems with my diff. Do the HR's have standard LSD? i bought it off a guy who told me it had an RT200 or something and the other day i was trying to cut some circles in a car park and it just wouldn't light up properly. i took it to my friends place and we put it up on axle stands and only one of the wheels was turning. i've been lead to believe that this means it is an open wheeler... is this correct? If it is standard LSD where can i get one? Cheers

I was wondering... i got a supra intercooler,a Type 2 turbosmart BOV and a boost controller for my HR30. When i get all of this hooked up and running about 1 bar what kind of extra power do you think i should expect to gain. I really want to get it done but i can't afford it right now and i really want to know roughly what kind of power increase i should be expecting. Just a stab in the dark. Cheers

Hey, Crimmo about those konies... are they red or yellow? i got those off paul but like a day after paul gave them to me they leaked oil on the ground. i wasn't sure weather to put them in or not it seemed a bit dodgey. i don't know what to do i mean are they sealed or could i get more fluid for them or something.

I just bought a standard 2 litre Supra intercooler for my HR30 and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how i could hook it all up. There isn't any room to feed piping through anywhere and i was hoping someone is running one similar. I saw it done on a DR30 at the latest drift days at least i think it was a Supra intercooler. I'm looking for a cheap but affective way of hooking it up as i don't have much money to play with. Also, a little while ago i tried to hook up a boost controller with no success. Hooking it up isn't the problem, that all went smoothly. The problem is when it is installed, it seems to boost ok and when it comes onto full boost it dies and then boost again and is all over the place sometimes it wouldn't even boost at all when coming into higher revs where it should be. The boost gage seems to bounce around all over the place with no throttle adjustment. I was really confused, worried and removed it. The strange thing is it works fine with the standard hose that is attached and i wasn't running above standard boost with the controller, i had it turned right down. I'm really confused about it and i want to have it all in order so when i get the intercooler in i can run more boost.

Also, i want to get an intercooler for my HR30 at some point and want some prices. I'm not sure what to get, i've got an offer for a GT-r intercooler for like 800 but i think it is a little bit over the top and i don't have loads of money to spend. Do you have any sugestions rsx? i'm hoping for around 1 bar... maybe less i don't know but i need more power asap. Cheers

Are the shocks on the Paul Newman HR30 the same as the ones that are available for the Aus model 1984 R30? I mean can i order say... Konies for the aus model and they will bolt straight in or are there slight variations in the mounting? How much do you think i would be paying for a set of new konies to suit? Thanks

I got the car very resently and the car came with a boost controller and just that nothing else. i don't have them. is there anyway you could send them to me?

i'm not playing around with it yet though. i just hooked it up and was running it on standard boost so it should make no difference.
