  1. Are you talking about the rubber moulding that hooks onto the edge of the mirror and goes under the door in a kind of U shape? And yes, I find Kudos Motorsports very good. Thanks, Bob.
  2. Ironically, I really struggled to get one of these but ended up getting the last one in Australia. The packaging was the old Nissan red white and blue. The white was a creamy yellow and it had half an inch of dust on it! I couldn't find this shape or style on any other model. I emailed 4 different vendors around the world with the part number but all came back NLA. Bob.
  3. He had 2 phone calls and 2 texts whilst I was with him on Saturday morning.
  4. YES THERE IS! My ADM is under exactly that policy as it is unregistered. It's insured for $60,000 with a $1000 excess and I paid $249.20 with a 25% No Claim Bonus! Cheers, Bob.
  5. I bought this car yesterday and insured with with NRMA VVC.......... It's totally stock down to the exhaust and radio! $589.10 with a $750.00 Excess. Pretty good deal I think. Bob.
  6. Congratulations.......... Welcome to the ADM club. How did you get to buy your car? I presume it wasn't advertised as we keep a pretty close eye on what's out there are I don't recall a black car with the listed mileage being for sale. Cheers, Bob.
  7. Yes, for $25 its a great buy. Gives you a good insight of what happened behind the scenes. Bob.
  8. Ok.......... This book tells it all.........http://www.pitstop.net.au/products/aussie-godzilla--the-r32-gt-r-arrives-downunder/ Fundamentally, when the R32 was released the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS 500 was the dominant touring car with the BMW E30 M3 a slightly lesser contender. Neither of these cars were sold in Australia. It was left to the locally built Holden Commodore to fly the "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" flag. With the expected success of the GT-R Nissan Australia were very concerned with the backlash of yet another car the punters couldn't buy. The car was already homologated in Japan for Group A so there was no need to sell any here. It was Nissan's Australian marketing arm that really wanted to capitalise on the dominance of the R32. The book explains the boardroom battles to eventually get the 100 cars approved and sold through the Australian Nissan dealer network. The cars naturally got Australian build and compliance plates and a unique 17 digit VIN as per attached pic. The values range considerably from modified high mileage cars to very low mileage 100% original cars with the latters being worth twice what the formers are worth. Cheers, Bob.
  9. Hi Guys, I find ordering parts a piece of cake. I first go to this website and find the part that I need - http://jp-carparts.com/nissan/figlist.php?maker=nissan&type=79&cartype=50 I then copy and paste the full part number into here - http://www.amayama.com/ build my basket and wait 14 days and it's here. Pretty easy stuff! Bob.
  10. They are a lot louder than stock!
  11. Good question.......... I doubt anybody knows or is able to get the answer to this. What I have done is compared it to other cars currently for sale built between 19898-1994. My guesstimate is somewhere between 4000-5000 cars but that's all it is, a guesstimate. I'd be keen to hear from importers who would have a better idea. Bob.
  12. Very true....... Not too many people know this. Due to the Australian delivered cars being sold at the time, R32 GT-R's built between July 1 1991 and June 30 1992 are prohibited imports. I wonder how many have come in over the years to end up as expensive track cars? Bob.
  13. My ADM is build number 26 and of course the GTR is 2.6 L.........
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum. I have an ADM that is 100% stock and a slightly enhanced V-Spec 2 with a 3.5" exhaust with a 5" HKS rear cannon. I love both but for different reasons. The original exhaust was 2.75" (Outside Diameter) and very quiet. That said, the JDM rear muffler failed to meet stationary idle ADR limits when the evaluation vehicles were tested in 1990/91. Consequently, Nissan had to modify it further to reduce the noise. The new part number for the 100 Australian delivered cars is/was 20100-J7410. The larger the exhaust the harder it is to keep it quiet so if you want it nice and quiet, just replicate the original sizing. I would expect quality muffler shops to guide you in the right direction, just stick to 2.75" with a quiet cat and mufflers. Sorry but I can't give you any advice on brands. If the engine is stock then you basically won't hear much except for some injector ticking at idle and the blow off valves doing their bit through gear changes. Stock turbo cars are pretty quiet regardless of the power they can make. I recently fitted a new rear muffler to a black ADM that I sold a few weeks back. It was the closest thing I could find to stock. Pic attached. Good luck with your project............... BTW: What state or location are you in? Bob.
  15. No....... Just a sh!t fit! EVERY importer says the same thing........ "We get everything checked out blah blah blah"...... They can't even align the bonnet. So yes at best a respray and worst who knows. Bob.
  16. A mate of mine is in the process of putting a brand new front lip on his R32. I collected it for him on Thursday. The car is coming up from Melbourne and he should have it this coming Thursday. The lip should be available not long after that. I'm pretty sure the one on his car is excellent but he wants it original ie: unpainted, not colour coded white. Best of all he is in Camden, just around the corner from you. I'll keep you up to date on price and availability. Cheers, Bob.
  17. This may help but needs Japanese translation......... Bob.
  18. Hi Terry, I'd love to see this get up off the ground. I'd get an unregistered permit for the day and take the ADM....... Hasn't really been out since the 25th Anniversary Day. I'd be happy to be interviewed and provide all the history. The xpose could and should cover the difference between ADM's and JDM's and then throw in my other car, V-Spec 2 and then Terry's V-Spec 2 N1. If we could get a NISMO it would almost be a Royal Flush. I have no doubt that if an event like this gets the coverage from a publication and participants, it would truly be very successful. Keep me in the loop Terry, happy to help if need be. Bob.
  19. We are now down to 23 cars boys.......... Yesterday, my mate paid a deposit on a 1 owner low mileage (verified) White 1994 model that was for sale at Carizma International in Melbourne. It's coming up to Sydney on Monday week........... (May 25). As a devout Holden man it took me about 3 years to turn him but eventually he gave in! Terry........ Another "Old Bastard" joins the GT-R brigade. I think Mick's about 47-48. Here are some pics...... Cheers...... Bob.
  20. Asteroid Silver is a VK Commodore Holden colour......... Yours is Jet Silver Metallic. Cheers, Bob.
  21. Guys........ As someone who monitors the sale of R32 GT-R's quite regularly, I am surprised to see their levels in such low numbers. Currently at time of posting there are only 25 cars available around Australia on Carsales/Carpoint. This includes all variants of the model (ADM's, N1's, Nismo, V-Spec 1 & 2's). http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/results.aspx?YearFromShort=1635&SearchAction=N&q=((((((Make%3d%5bNissan%5d%7b%26%7d(Model%3d%5bSkyline%5d%7b%26%7dBadge%3d%5bGT-R%5d))%7b%7c%7d(Make%3d%5bNissan%5d%7b%26%7d(Model%3d%5bSkyline%5d%7b%26%7dBadge%3d%5bGT-R+V-Spec%5d)))%7b%7c%7d(Make%3d%5bNissan%5d%7b%26%7d(Model%3d%5bSkyline%5d%7b%26%7dBadge%3d%5bGT-R+V-Spec+II%5d)))%26(((SiloType%3d%5bDealer+used+cars%5d%7cSiloType%3d%5bBrand+new+cars+in+stock%5d)%7cSiloType%3d%5bDemo+and+near+new+cars%5d)%7cSiloType%3d%5bPrivate+seller+cars%5d))%26Service%3d%5bCarsales%5d)%26Year%3drange%5b1980..1994%5d)&YearToShort=1665&sortby=Price Only 4 cars are under $20,000 and one of those is $19,990.00. On the other end, 10 cars are over $30,000.00. To put things into perspective, on January 1 2012, there were 66. On January 1 this year there were 40. The numbers consistently hovered around that level through 2013/14. I also monitor the Japanese Auctions. Over 50% of the cars on offer are rated R. You get the occasional 3.5 very few 4's let alone anything above that. I suspect we as Australians (private buyers and dealers) have little interest in bringing in cars rated 3 or lower. As the Americans are now cranking up their demand buying anything in Japan built in 1989 and 1990 I can only see these numbers diminishing further. I'd be keen on hearing from anyone looking for a car and there experience in finding one at the moment that meets their expectation. Cheers, Bob.
