I sold the M3 12 months after buying the ADM GT-R. I just struggled for room and the cost was a bit prohibitive. What made things suck was 6 weeks after selling the car I got a promotion which would have allowed me to keep the car. Anyway I looked around for a nice JDM R32 and ended up with one 3 months later. I've toyed with selling it and there is a bit of interest here so I'm looking around for an alternative if it does sell. Stupid part is I don't even know if I really want to sell it but that's another story! The M3 GTR...... I think was only called a M3R for racing in Australia. BMW released 15 in the mid 1990's. All white and numbered. My mates race car is one and The Classic Throttle Shop in Sydney recently sold one. Here - http://www.classicthrottleshop.com/soldcars.htm Scroll down 18 rows but you can't enlarge the pic. Low mileage car..... Sold for about $60K. Stunning car I had a good look at it before it sold but too much like my car for more than twice the price. Here are some pics of my old M3.

Well put..... Like a lot of things, we take stuff for granted until we get a chance to compare. The only other car I really want to test drive is an E92 BMW M3.Unfortunately they are still serious money but an E46 manual (very rare) at $45K is more where I am likely to be but the V8 sounds fantastic. I owned a Dakar Yellow E36 M3 for 3 years and loved it. It was an earlier version with the 3.0L 5 speed not the stupid SMG 6 speed which came out in the later 3.2L cars. I'm not sure what I may end up with but I certainly know what i won't be owning and that's a STI. Cheers, Bob.

My daughter owned this WRX for 9 months until we sold it to buy a MX-5. I loved it and pleaded with her not to sell it but it was like talking to a brick wall. Fortunately the MX-5 is a great car too and probably a bit more suited to a 21 year old. If I didn't already have a fleet of cars I would have tried to find a way of keeping it but that simply wasn't possible. The new car didn't feel much faster ( or that much better) than hers but was $60,000 more! Cheers and thanks for the favourable comments about the review. It motivates me to keep finding interesting things to discuss. Bob.

Seperate..... Bought it in early 2011 out of the UK. -
Hi Guys, After thinking long and hard about consolidating things in general, I thought a WRX STI might make a nice alternative to a couple of cars I am thinking of letting go. Anyway, as there are only a couple of STI dealers in Sydney I ended up at one a few hours ago. Looked at the specs and got excited at the thought of owning one. I went to the Chatswood dealership and must admit the service and courteousness was excellent. No pressure, brochures given to me without having to ask, coffee, soft drink fell over them selves to be nice. Cutting to the chase..... I asked them that I would like a test drive, what would it take? Answer...... Do you have a licence sir? Yes.... That's all you need. A quick photocopy of my licence and a liability contract signed and they handed me the keys. He asked if 30 minutes was enough to know if I was interested? I said "probably"....... Off I went solo. I allowed the car to warm up for the first 6-7 minutes but once I saw the operating temperature normal, my spirited driving increased. As an owner of 2 R32 GT-R's (1 x ADM and 1 x JDM) both 100% stock as a rock with original radios and exhaust systems etc etc I thought this was going to be an interesting comparison. There is simply one word that describes my experience. Extreamely......UNDERWELMED!!!!!!!!! A real disappointment. Whilst on paper you have the STI at 221kw and weighing 1525kg and 206kw but we know it's closer to 230kw with boost restrictor removed and 1495kg for the JDM GT-R. There is no comparison. The STI felt as though it weighed 1800 kgs. It had no real WOW factor once the boost came in. Sure it's quick and if the fasted car you have ever driven is a Camry then you would be impressed but as someone fortunate to have driven some really nice quick cars it's a 6/10 for me. At $70,000 or thereabouts, I'd have buyers remorse after 2 days and watch the depreciation tare up $100 notes in front of my eyes every day. I guess the one thing that keeps coning to mind is remembering that the ADM GT-R's were $113,000.00 22 years ago and they were that price for a reason. They are, by even todays standards brilliant motor vehicles........ Godzilla still reigns.. Long live the King. Bob.

My car came with the complete press kit, and ADM brochures. Ive had it for 3 years. The reverse of the poster (it's actually A5 size which is exactly half the size of an A4 piece of paper)is shown in the second pic. My collection of ADM related paraphernalia is quite extensive. I have over 30 magazines that feature the ADM and numerous posters. The best one that I have the big Winfield poster shown in the pic. I even have the Skyline series Casio G Shock watch from 1991. The last one that sold on Ebay went for $1800.00.... Yes I promise I'm not joking! Cheers, Bob. -

Yeah...... The top one is very rare. I have only ever come across the one I have. Is yours a single poster or two? 1 on top of the other? Never seen the bottom section or that poster if it's 1 complete. -
The Bathurst thing is a myth....... BMW and Ford got smashed by the public for racing cars the people couldn't buy here. Nissan wanted to raise the profile of their brand and capitalise on the success they knew they were going to get. The car was $112,995.00 at list price. My window sticker clearly shows that at the time of original purchase. Remember this is 1991/92. Mine was sold as a DEMO with 261 kms for $110,000.00. I bought the JDM from a private guy in Victoria in February last year. It then underwent a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration. If I did sell it $25K would be a fair price which is a fair bit less than it owes me. Cheers, Bob.

If you can afford it, just buy new ones from Nissan. About $45 each and then get the refils from super cheap or similar. Saves a lot of mucking around. -
No..... That's my ADM....Not sure if you know but Nissan Australia asked Japan to specially build 100 cars to Australian specifications which were sold through their dealers. Pretty rare probably only 60-70 still exist. My JDM was a project in restoring a good car and making it great. Very original including radio and exhaust. I'm not actively trying to sell it but if I trip over a genuine buyer then who knows. Here are a few pics of both cars. Cheers, Bob.

Ta....... I just did some quick sums on 4 toys plus a daily....... Insurances, regos and lease repayments and fuel $37K per year total. Wasn't game to factor in maintenance! No wonder I can't sit down. Bob.
-
What price point are you looking at? Having 4 toys is a pain in the bum so I may consider selling my JDM. Bob.

OK..... Bit of a story first. As an owner of a R32 ADM GT-R I am keen to follow the progress and sale of a lovely ADM recently listed at Shannons for a NSW auction on October 21. I have a mate who is interested so another mate and I went to look and chat about the car. I bought my ADM from the same auction 3 years earlier and during that time I have built good re-pore with the Shannons Auction staff. I have also sold cars through them and have 7 cars insured with them. So, with all that said they are very helpful towards me whenever I pop in for a gander. The one thing this car has that mine doesn't (for those who know me I'm anal about originality) is the original Nissan Valet/Service key. I'm not talking about the GT-R key, I'm talking about the key that opens the doors and works the ignition. You cant open a locked glove box nor can it open the boot if the self release is deactivated. The idea is to leave valuables in the car when you take it for service of when ever someone else may drive the car. Anyway....... I knew I was missing the key but I never know what the difference was which made it work the way it does. The Shannons staff were kind enough to show me both keys and it was obvious when you had the keys side by side. The gap between the 2 slits was considerably thinner and the key code had a Y followed by the 4 digit key code. Nissan Australia checked with Nissan Japan and the key came back NLA. OK, but they did give me the part number 0000075 - Key Blank. As we all do, I Googled the part number with some moderate success. After finding numerous suppliers I shot off about 6-7 emails. Only one came back with a positive result. I went through their website and order 2 keys, apparently Nissan USA were showing 2. I didn't hold out much hope thinking that they won't have them when it comes time to pick. Last Friday morning I awake to see an email from the dealership stating that they weren't able to validate my overseas credit card and the order has been cancelled and if I wanted to reorder the keys I would need to pay by Bank transfer or Pay Pal. After a bit of tooing and frowing I went through the purchase again and checked out via Pay Pal. I got a Pay Pal confirmation at 5:02am Friday morning Sydney time. Not long after that I got a DHL express Post Tracking number. Hmmm... This are progressing. The Nissan/Infinity Dealership I bought the keys from is in Phoenix Arizona. It went through Phoenix to LA and then on the first flight to Sydney. At 8:10am this morning there was a knock on my front door..... Yep DHL man with my two keys. In 75 hrs I had the key in my hand and I took it to my locksmith who computer cut it off the the code. Works perfect! I know a lot of you are thinking "what a load of crock over a key" but for those who appreciate originality and collect stuff you will appreciate why I do this. Thanks for reading........ Bob.

I popped into Shannons with a mate of mine to check out a few of the cars. My mate ask the Shannons Sales Staff if there has been any interest in the GT-R and they said "3 guys have been all over it!" Encouraging signs Jim.... Best of luck. The Inspection report is up now with excellent results. Cheers, Bob. -

Guys, I'm after the OEM speaker covers for a R32 GT-R. It has ACTIVE SPEAKERS written on them. Some idiot drilled a hole in mine for child anchorage fitment. I'm not interested in the speakers, just the covers but will pay accordingly. Bob.
