  1. Yep..... Thanks for that. Beautiful original timewarp car. Love it! Bob.
  2. What about a link? Thanks..
  3. Well, to be honest, I didn't think so. We all know about the 2 x red ones and the Silver one that is currently for sale but I was told he had a R34 Black one, not R32. That said, memories from 20 odd years ago aren't that flash and I've been caught out quoting what people believe to be true only to find out later that it's incorrect. I'd ring Ron Eagle, make an appointment to see him. Get him to check out the car, offer him $50 for his time and effort but at least then you know exactly what you have or don't have. Could be the best $50 you've ever spent! Bob.
  4. Here is a link to all the photos I've got of the Packer car that was sent to Britain and then returned. Do you see anything uniquely similar to your car? Cheers, Bob. http://s1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb385/Scoobiesteve/Kerry%20Packers%20Red%20Pearl%20Metalic%20R32%20GT-R/?start=all
  5. According to the Godzilla Down Under book, the stereo was straight out of the Nissan Maxima..... I don't like our chances of finding one of those in a hurry but you never know. The unit owes me about $300......... from the USA inc postage etc. They ran them in 240SX's over there..... Same timespan as R32's - 1989-1994. Bob.
  6. What about the chasis number on the firewall? Is that still there? I can dechiper all the numbers if that is still there............. I've met Ron Eagle a couple of times so if I were you I'd lob on his doorstep with the car and I D numbers and see if he can confirm its Packers car. Bob.
  7. OK......... So let me get this right. You have owned the car for over 8 years but can't confirm that the original owner was Kerry Packer... Aka ......... Consolidated Press Pty Ltd? I would die of curiosity no knowing this. Have you been able to find a contact at Nissan that can confirm the original owner? Surely they could confirm that? What about Tony Carraturo can he help? He'd be my new best friend for 2012. I'd drive him Cuckoo until he gave me the info I was after. I'd walk into the RTA and explain that you know they won't tell you who the original owner was but if you get someone with a brain, a tiny nudge nudge wink wink to confirm Consolidated Press Pty Ltd as the original owners wouldn't be too hard. I'd then try the big insurance companies and see if they insured it when new and try and get some confirmation there. I just wouldn't give up...... Someone should be able to confirm this. On a different note, I had a win today................. Pick this up. Cost me a bomb but what the heck, it may come in handy one day. Bob.
  8. Cool........ So the big man had 4 R32's. 2 x Red, 1 x Silver and 1 x Black. He really must of liked them. A good testament to the model eh! I'm not quite sure how he fit into them though............. Bob.
  9. Please excuse this stupid question but was it a R32? I was told the only black Skyline he had was a R34........ Amazing how bad some peoples memory is after 20 years. I can remember everything I did 20 years ago I just can't remember what I did 20 hours ago! Bob.
  10. Definately the same car......... I think this may have been one of the evaluation cars built up to Aussie specs. Yes, it is an Aussie Car but not one of the batched 100. They must of had 1 or 2 of these cars as some of the magazine road tests were performed before the 100 cars arrived. Bob.
  11. Just noticed this one that was listed yesterday........... Build Number 5. http://www.carpoint....id=132C59778CDE Bob. Aussie Delivered Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R - Build Number 5.pdf
  12. If you have a close look at the VIN tags, you will note it's an early car and is NOT part of the 100 cars! VIN is 11268 which is not recorded on the list. Bob.
  13. Yeah........... I was a bit surprised and sceptical too. I can help but think back to some similar conversations I had with Peter Brock and John Harvey in 2005. Their comments were completely at odds with the general opinion on things too. Unfortunately for them, enthusiasts like us wait on every word they say whereas for them it's a job and they don't see the relevance we put on things. Duncan, were you in the group around my car when FG said what he said? Curious to know...........Cheers, Bob.
  14. Yeah...... I got my copy late on Friday and read that. That is totally contrary to what Fred Gibson told me at the Legends dinner. Unfortunately, 20 years of water under the bridge plays havoc with peoples memory. Great book...... Excellent reading. Bob.
  15. Who did you order your through? Thanks...... Bob.
  16. Hi Brad, There is a sneaky early number that appears later in the range so many people (including myself) all thought their cars were one build earlier than they actually are. If you check my attached list I think you will find that your car is actually build number 10. Regards, Bob. Nissan GTR Aussie Build Numbers.xls
  17. Oh...... Sorry, the penny just dropped. I didn't realize we were talking about the same car. That's really weird. We should ask him what it is. My apologies for jumping to conclusions as we know the car is an ADM. You are right, I haven't seen it on any other ADM either. Bob. PS: Second best colour..............
  18. Yep........ Looks like you are correct. I'm surprised the Ex-Packer car hasn't sold. I bet you it's next.......... Bob.
  19. It's the private import plate ........... Bob.
  20. They showed me the Dark Grey and Silver cars.... The Silver one was going top Perth. Is the Grey one yours or did you buy another one? Cheers, Bob.
  21. While you at it, you may want one of these too...... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Skyline-R32-GTR-GT-R-1988-Owners-Handbook-/150712729468?pt=AU_Non_Fiction_Books_2&hash=item23172dbf7c Regards, Bob.
  22. Thanks mate....... You have restored some hope for me. Bob.
