  1. Hi Terry, I have sent you a PM Cheers, Bob.
  2. Here's another one boys............ http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?trecs=3&SearchAction=N&__Ntk=CarAll&Cr=1&__Ntt=Australian%20GTR&R=10101756&seot=1&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963593%204294963846%20%201635%201665&silo=1011&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=Australian%20GTR&__D=Australian%20GTR&__sid=12E1FCAB3AF2&YearFromShort=1635&YearToShort=1665&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&__Qpb=true&__Nne=15&__Dx=mode%20matchany Looks lovely....... Bob.
  3. You have a PM........ Bob.
  4. Yeah............ I figured that. I've lowered plenty of cars in my life but never really was able to duplicate the feel of an original set up. If I just put some lowered springs it it it will reduce the bump stop travel and that causes other issues. I'll leave it as it is. Thanks for the feedback though. Cheers, Bob.
  5. Hi Guys, Forgive my ignorance but I was told that the OEM std suspension on a R32 GTR has a low and high adjustment. Is the teller correct or off with the pixies? I'll love to drop the suspension by an inch or so but don't want to modify the original equipment. Thanks, Bob.
  6. I drove past a few days after posting the pics and the car was gone. I left my business card logged in the front door asking him if he was interested in selling the car. I heard nothing so presumable the car was just left there to rot and the owner has finally moved it. Anyway it made interesting discussion. Bob.
  7. Hi Guys, I took some pics at the meeting point but unfortunately couldn't go on the run as I had to be home by 12:30pm...... Some lovely cars there though..... Bob.
  8. Chanel 9 news reported double demerits last night....... Good thing the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing! Bob.
  9. Oh sorry, I'm just talking about the white lettering I've circled in yellow...... attached below. Bob.
  10. Has anyone kept count as to how many cars are likely to attend at this stage? Bob.
  11. It looks as though it has NT written on it which you would presume is non-turbo?
  12. Maybe not....... Weather.com says it will be OK.........
  13. Hi Guys...... I may not be able to go on the entire drive but I'd certainly like to at least go to the meeting point and say hello to a few of you. Sounds like a great turnout. Bob.
  14. I did.......... well I didn't glad wrap it but I did leave my card in the front door. Time will tell. Bob.
  15. That's a big no no now days.... Privacy act strictly prohibits that kind of thing. Every inquiry is documented as to who access the info. I've tried that before and got a stern "Sorry I can't help you"....... Bob.
  16. Did that ........ Nobody knows a thing....... Bob.
  17. Hi Guys, This will make you rather sad…….. A mate of mine rang me yesterday and asked how can you tell an Australian delivered R32 GTR from an import? I told him that the Aussie cars had a number plate bracket on the front with a Nissan badge as opposed to a Skyline badge, roof aerial, blinkers on the front guards, amber tail-lights, no reverse lights in the rear number plate location etc etc……… He then goes on to tell me that he has just found one, a Red Wine mica (burgundy) abandoned or what appears to be in a rather affluent leafy North Western Sydney Suburb. He said the car doesn't look as though it's been driven for a while as the discs are rusted and there is an incredible amount of leaves and bark all over the car. In a nutshell he said the car is pretty much a mess. I'm thinking to myself that surely it can't be that bad or it's an import that somebody has given up on. He gave me the address and I went and had a look at it today……. Bugger me he was right, it's definitely an Aussie delivered car, I've confirmed the VIN (off the rego label) and it's part of the 100………. Second batch of 50. I won't post info on the car as a matter of courtesy to the owner so please don't ask specifics that may embarrass him/her. As you can see via the pics below it's worth saving but I can't work out who owns it? I did a bit of a search within the area and nobody knows the owner or anything about the car. I will warn you, the first few pics don't look too bad but as you get on you will see the severity of the situation. The cars done 162,000 kms, the interior is ok but the driver's seat bolster is knackered. It was registered on August 2 last year so it has 8 months rego on it, looks completely stock except for the exhaust. It even has the original AM FM Radio Cassette player. The bumpers are scratched and gauged, the bonnet has 6-8 hail/dent marks, the roof has a horrid burn/dent mark the size of a couple of AA batteries put together. It has spider webs and insects all through it. Here lies my dilemma? If a young person owned it then normally the first thing they change is the stereo yet it's original. The tyres are of good quality with heaps of tread but are date stamped 2005. This leaves me to think that the car did all its mileage early in its life and has done very little over the last 5 years. If an older person owns it then how can they allow such a rare classic to be neglected to such a degree? It does have a University sticker of the driver's side rear window so maybe that's a clue? Anyway if anybody knows who owns it and wants to sell it I'd be happy to talk to them…….. It's just dissapointing to see it rot away like this………. What's it worth? Bob.
  18. Well said............. You are 100% correct.
  19. Hi there, They are going up, sale prices are confirming that but they need to be as close to original as possible. Historically, these type of Muscle/Performance cars sold in limited quantity bottom out after 20 years and then steadily climb. They reach their optimum collectibility when the turn 30 being permitted to be registered under historic plates. But to do so they MUST be 95% stock standard as per Vic Roads and NSW RTA guidelines. BTW..........It's number 77/100. Regards.... Bob.
  20. Hello again......... After trying to achieve 3 months worth of work in 3 weeks I have a couple of pics to share. I have repainted the front and rear bars, mirrors, fitted new chin spoiler, removed all small dents and imperfections within the body. Fitted new number plates. Removed the tinting, reinstalled the original radio/cassette player, performed major service, all hoses, belts and seals replaced. Dyno tuned. Refurbished the wheels and fitted new tyres, and finally did some major detailing including the under carriage. Regards, Bob.

  22. Hi Ken, Thanks for your kind words. The bidding started at $40K with about 6 players........ By the time it got to $48K 3 had dropped out. At $50K it was between me and a phone bidder (interstate I think). At $52K he went up to $52,500. I bid $53K and he said no. This is what I loved about the car.......... Every pink slip (Roadworthy) since 1995 with the original purchase documentation. Press kit and letter of congratulations from Nissan Australia. Bob.
  23. Hi Guys, I'll post a formal intro as soon as I can but I was the successful bidder on this car last night. Pick her up tomorrow. Cheers, Bob.
