  1. maybe put it on ebay with a huge reserve (so it doesnt sell) might give you an idea
  2. can cops still do that kind of thing if they were on their day off?? i thought they are pretty much the same as the rest of us off duty. that's so anal of him it's almost personal..........
  3. if it is what it's discribed as. then what can you do? you cant change your mind. however. say if i bought a car advertised as a GTR and it turned out to be a GTST with a twin turbo mod and a badge on the back i'd be taking that to court as a last option. depends how different it is. is it a different car? or just the same car with a transmission change etc?
  4. just out of interest. i wonder if they could arrest someone for drink driving if they seemed drunk when spoken too. even if there was no breathaliser/blood tests to prove they actually were. that's kind of the same principle. if it's illegal to go over a certian noise limit but the cops guess if it is or not, that simply can't be the law to guess.
  5. Soarer. there's a good example of a cheap, modern GT.............
  6. a few people have suggested earlier that ACA are in league with the police. i wouldnt buy that for a second, ACA (well, the whole of kerry packers empire) is out for itself. i'd say there's been just as many stories on police corruption, inefectivness and brutality as there has been about hoons..............
  7. one would think that stage 4 comes after 3...........there's 5 stages in the game (well, there's 5 spaces for cars and you get one new one each stage) i've got the Supra now. in the stats it's slower than an audi a3, what the fark? ah well, i took it over the audi anyway. The game gets quite repetive. what it needed was cop chases, but i spose the outrun mode filled in that gap. i'm enjoying it. i reckon the soundtrack is about on par with nfsu1. some good songs some crap ones..........
  8. yep, been playing it for a few days...............yeah it sure takes patience. i've got a 180sx and a Sentra, i havent touched the sentra though, i'll save the money and use the modded 180 to win races till i get the next step up which i think is 350z's etc then mod the nuts off it straight away while the game still thinks i dont have the cash to do that yet. it's tough till then. i dont mind the driving round between races. it's good practice and it's nice to drive around without worrying about positioning etc. is it just me or does Bayview's highrises and waterfront location with its deluge of modded cars make anyone else think of the Gold Coast? Maybe it was because i was driving around in a GTO (Monaro) listening to Spiderbait
  9. Just bought it for the PC. traded in a gameboy colour and a gameboy camera for it. not to shabby......... i'm going to fire it up when i get home! has anyone else played it? i know it has a R34 GTR and some form of a 180SX in there. i'll probblay try for a Supra..........
  10. for all those tracking him down, make sure you keep us all updated here at SAU with the progress. it makes for good reading
  11. BMW bought the whole company a while back.........what they pretty much did was keep the good models of cars it had and sold the rest off to a consortium of 4 (as someonestolecc said) nicknamed the Phoniex 4. they got the company for 1£ or 10£ (cant remember) it's pretty much gone bust now and is being dismantaled. New Rover prices are already slipping cause of warranty reasons......... there was talk of a bailout deal with SAIC (or something) some chinese car comapny. but it's fallen throught. with a general election about to take place in the UK the loss of thousands of jobs in the company has been causing a lot of people quite a headache......... MG made some great cars....................
  12. I bought a kidney of doridori32 but recieved a testicle in the post. he says even though it's different from what i bought, it will do the same job and a testicle is what they call a kidney in Germany. Has anyone else bought parts off this guy??
  13. Made the pages here in the UK today. Rover has laid off 5000 and has pretty much died on it's feet. no more rover (if anyone cares) and more importantly, no MG's RIP
  14. good idea. why not put it in the ideas/feedback section? i think those kids you saw are lucky that drive-byes arn't common in australia
  15. you might have a bit more luck in the Japan section, most of the people who can read Japanese post there.
  16. he didnt loose his entire licence in one hit, so i reckon being on the last point was warning enough to take it really easy. and i'd agree with you if this really was a "guys, i've fecked up" post. but it's not. it's a "guys i've repeatadly broke the law, but it's petty, how do i get out of the punishment?" like Kel said, catching public transport for a while would enforce the message. I'm not flaming the guy, i'm saying this for his and the people who's reading this post's benifit. i've heard quite a few guys on SAU write in posts that if they didnt get the shock of loosing their licence they'd be in a much worse place...............It's very possible that Mashrock would become a better driver if he wears the fines. And improving the quality and maturity of drivers should be a priority of the SAU and entire performance car community.
  17. that's the attitude plain and simple............they are above the rest.
  18. messiah, you are right, everyone has done dumb shite before. i have too in a car, though out of inexperience. but this guy dosent see it as dumb, he see's it as petty. and his suspension not as justice, but as an incovinience. as though he's done nothing wrong. and if he dosent think he's done anything wrong, he'll keep running reds and breaking the law. that's where the problem is.......................
  19. yeah apparently paris has banned them from the city centre.........not sure. i might have thought that was aginst EU law. i visited some of the highlands today, rural area.........there's a lot more up there. but yeah they are catching on. the only cars which are not 4cyc manuals are merc's, bmw's, jag's and that's about it............small cars are huge over here. that sounds like a contradiction but it's true!
  20. um............running a red light is not 'petty shit' people get killed doing that. tough shit if some kid went to cross the road. if you think that's petty i sure hope that you dont get your licence back for a long time. i feel i speak on behalf of a lot of sensible drivers here on SAU.
  21. nah, i'm going to have to argue that............. the UK is not as bad as australia by no means, but you still get a hell of a lot of 4WD's about, which simply arn't needed. most are of the north sydney varity too (X5's, XC90's, Range Rover) They're very popular and unlike australia there is pretty much no anti-4wd movement here. there isnt enough of them to be a problem. but due to parking and fuel costs here you have to be very rich to own one, they're real status symbols........... unfortunatly they cant just tax 4WD's off the roads........the farmers would go crazy and both sides of politics needs the rual vote. What they could do is not only offer tax breaks, but also subsidies on 4WD's to people who's primary place of residence is in a rural area (i know, that's tricky to define) which would actually make them cheaper than they are now. and they could pay for this buy taxing the nuts off the rest of the 4WD market.
  22. is Sydney turning into Vice City or something??
  23. front page of The Guardian today......i bought it but i'll read it tommorow................ Rover was crap......MG though....
