Yep, still got a free pass that expires December from a time when test and tune was rained out. Bought an open face helmet for $40 yesterday since the full face one got too hot on Saturday. I'll go back out as soon as Sneaky Pete decides to run his car.

Looking back at my videos, I'm starting to wonder how I would have gone if I'd let the car get anywhere near redline... I just have too much mechanical sympathy I think.

Can anyone confirm if they were allowed to run yesterday with an open face helmet with just AS1698 but no :2006? I saw some for sale at ALDI today for just $40, but remembered this thread saying 1698 was different to 1698:2006. Willowbank's website says: "Approved Open Face Helmet – AS 1698 min" Can anyone confirm? The full face one got so hot yesterday.

Just dug out the timeslips from my glovebox, 11 slips, and that doesn't count about 4 that I never bothered getting because they felt slow. Not bad for $60. Longevity will be the deciding factor, these are cheap ones from eBay. Also, all led headlights like them use a tiny fan on the rear to cool the aluminium heat sink, I have run them for 5 mins in a go with no significant heating, but if the fan goes or lets moisture in they will probably die... Will keep you posted
