Gday Tao, A bit over 10 years ago (page 255) there were discussions around the e-turbo you were developing. Did anything more ever eventuate from this?

Just waiting for a uni roster to come out, if I have the day off I will be there.

Is the Focus allowed at this event? I won't even pretend that the Skyline will be on the road for a few years.

Hi All, So after a very long time away from Skylines and the club I have recently re-joined/newed my membership. The last time I was a member was back in 2006/2007 during the early RB30DET building days (page 2 of the dyno results). Well back then I was younger and much more willing to let my impatience get in the way with a willingness to do things on the cheap. This ended up with a RB30DET that ran, but no where near the potential I desired. An extreme lack of budget was the deciding factor on modifications, maintenance and fuel. So 10 years on I got married, completed some higher education (yet for some unknown masochistic reason I'm still doing this) and settled into a career. Since 2008 the old R33 has predominately sat waiting for me to return to it. I imported the car from Japan when I was 18 and knew it was never going to be sold despite some offers over the years. It has been started a few times here and there but mostly neglected. For a few years I suppressed my car related desires with various "car" hobbies such as RC car racing, small event photography and large portions of iRacing (online simulated racing - Very good actually especially in a sim rig). These have not provided enough and my wife even noticed the change in my demeanor and said to me "your not going to get rid of it so do what you want with it". Thus began the restoration plan I have prepared most of what I can think of in an excel document with links to online stores and 95% of it is actual pricing rather than some unrealistic expectation of this being a cheap process. If anybody would be interested I have shared this and would appreciate feedback. A whole lot has changed since back then and I have fully abused the search feature to construct the proposed build. The goal ultimately is to build "my supercar". Currently getting around in my Focus XR5 that I just love, a great car that is not outstanding at any one thing but just heaps of fun in most. I hope to attend a few club events with it. Goal is for a 600HP street car, but I will be very happy with anything 500+. A weekend toy set up with reliable/proven parts and able to be taken to any style of event for some fun. Not in a rush in anyway what so ever, currently thinking this will be a 2 year build. Mine only uses Shell V-Power Racing (100 octane) This is what the car has been tuned to use. I found that the response was much better out of this fuel. I also have found a slight increase in the amount of Km's that I am able to get out of a tank.

Yeh its using the std turbo still next things to do is suspension - paint and interior

the RB30 rev's. It rev's really well. Mine is tuned to 7000rpm and it makes it to that point very damm quickly. So undercutting yourself with a RB25 bottom end because of that reason might need another re think in my opinion.

Hey mate He upped the boost the first tune is on 0.65bar and the second tune is on 0.81 bar I def agree with you mate. I will be going back to him for anything I want done. Has a very no Bull Sh*t approach. It has a Power FC ecu in it Today I spoke with him about suspension options. He really knows his stuff! I highly recommend them to anybody.

It aslo comes down to what you think you can handle I think. Rember the GTS-T is a street car that you can take to the track. a GTR is a Race car that you can drive on the street. Both have there pro's and con's. Personaly after owning a R33 GTS-T for 2 years. I am looking at geting a 32 GTR (in the future) as a weekend car and keep the GTS-T for daily duties.

Hey guys The old man has a 2002 330I BMW that is about to come out of warranty. The whole time he has had it he has wanted a little more power (he is a Ex Pro Drag Racer). Only prob is he has spend most of his time on Carby's. We have figured that the best things for him to do would be. 1- Exhaust 2- Intake 3- ECU Chip 4- Sat navigation What I would like to know is. What type of exhaust would be best on the BMW? He does not want something noisy but wants it to have a bit of bite. Intake. Pod filter or K&N Panel filter with CAI? ECU Chip - Where to get this done? What can be expected from it? Is it safe? Sat Navigation - Is there a system that will hook into the factory TV/Stereo system? It was a 3K option 3 years ago that he thought he didn't need. Now he wants it but doesn’t believe its worth 3K Thanks guys

I used Ford Dark Blue Because I used a spare set that I have I left them under the house for 3 weeks. Once every 5 or so days I would go down and give them another coat. Waiting to mount the intercooler before I go getting all dirty again

I have done this as well.. Yet to put them into the car. One other thing I did was get some VHT Engine Block paint (400+ Degs). Taped up the electrical contacts and the very stem of the coil. Then gave them about 5 complete coats each. Now I know that every possible section of the pack is coated one way or the other.
