Not without spending a fortune. A shift kit will transform it but still 500ish unless you do the work yourself.

well, actually it does matter...are you new to our legal system ?? the law very much takes into account the severity of an incident on an individual basis, and the circumstances surrounding it. Anyway - drag racing - on the streets, come on. It's no place for it. Drag racing is cool to watch but it's a bit "fuuuuark that was sick!!!" next run.. "yeahhhh that was sick" then "that was pretty cool" then " ok now i'm bored, when's the motor racing on"..

Ass-uming you mean on stock ecu? No, you can do basic boltons on stock ecu. Issue is more when you start to increase the boost.

BNE - rb25det to suit rebuild Rb25det bottom end out of R33 Skyline - block is in good order, crank is good but superficial scuffing to no.3 rod journal where rod spun a bearing - only shallow marking so will be fine for engine rebuild. Have the stock rods, and 4x stock pistons (have used the other 2), and sump. Apart from oil pump which is yours if you want it, this is just the parts listed, no balancer, manifolds etc. Had bought this to do an engine rebuild but ended up rebuilding the engine already in the car. Not really keen on shipping, prefer local buyer in Brisbane - $150. -
R33 water feed line leak. help?
hardsteppa replied to AndreW_R32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
look...this one ain't rocket-scientifical. pull shit off/move shit out of the way till you can reach the hose, then replace with any decent 6/8 mm(can't remember what size but think 6mm) quality hose of required length. No way i'd gen. Nissan for this, it's only a mild bend that most free-length hose can cope with. Yeah it's tight but welcome to JDM. Replace said shit that you moved out of the way. Fine for another 10+years. -
300 Plus from RB25 for street
hardsteppa replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes I did notice a difference going from a magnaflow 200 metal cat to a 100 cell Venom, in a 5in? (been a long time since I had any reason to recall) body, and I'm nowhere near the power level you are so it should help. Not sure of the emissions legality of it though. Just hoping to plead ignorance "but I have a cat fitted" if it ever comes to that, rather than going decat pipe (which in my experience on my old car, make a huuuuuge difference that can't be beat, no matter how many articles on it Hot 4's etc publish, claiming otherwise.) -
bumping this up, anyone know a decent starter motor available in Oz for the RB engines lately? The Bosch motor BXM034N that is listed for skylines is definitely NOT suitable and Bosch tell me they don't actually make one for Skylines despite what it says on their page. Genuine Nissan is $700+, I hear nothing but bad things about the OEX brand, and can only find Auto 8 brand which looks like it will fit, but might be a bit cheap n nasty?

Valve Body Upgrade - Auto R33
hardsteppa replied to hardsteppa's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
trans is still going well Trex; my power levels are pretty pisswe@k, prob under or on 200rwkw. Valve body kit transformed car though. Have thought about going manual but for daily driving will be a PITA, this is much more traffic friendly than my last car with OS Gayken twinplate ...although it was an awesome clutch. -

Rb25 Idle, Now Cas Issue? Advice Pls
hardsteppa replied to hardsteppa's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, was afm needed cleaning. As far as ignition timing goes, gtsboy is correct again lol. Timing is supposed to be erratic but having idle set right without idle control on, makes it less so. -
Best performance street tyres
hardsteppa replied to vxsr33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
rsr's were fine but yes the newer rsrr are noisy as anything, at over 70k. Car noise is no issue for me but of course, might be a factor for some. -
Best performance street tyres
hardsteppa replied to vxsr33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
they are good hey. Have them on the front at the moment in the same size as you, and will do them on the rear too as soon as current tyres wear out. For me to date though, the ultimate performance street tyre is still the RSRR. Just bloody awesome. Quick wearing but also relatively 'dirt cheap' on the performance scale. I imagine the ad08 might be better still but more $$, and not used them myself. I also hear great things about these; only thing the tyre shop pointed out, is they're not made for' performance' driving, eg not made with large shoulder blocks...so apparently will be good but just wear fairly quickly if pushed. -
welcome to Aus mate, very nice car it does look mint

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
hardsteppa replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I read good reviews on them too, but - all comes back to what sort of driving you will do. They are still a 'street' tyre so don't have the larger side blocks like RS3's do so won't last too long if used for mountain roads, track etc...although i'm sure will grip like sh&t for everyday commuting. -
if you're serious about doing any track time then another set of rims/wheels will be needed. Great for track ain't great for street. Or as above, AD08R, but won't last long on street so cheaper to hav a 2nd set, in the long run.

Bc coil over rebuild & camber
hardsteppa replied to Kei_ayanami's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I don't believe you'd 'rebuild' the BC inserts...for the price anyway you'd just buy a new shock insert, if that was found to be the faulty component. Although a few other things on BC's that can knock too, not just the shockereeo....o. Is it definitely the shocktwizzle? And what's the camber query...
