  1. Mazda is giving it one last run I think later in the year. I heard the 3 MPS is for sale? And given it's pants-off-Friday I have much better things to do with my time than watch 27 minutes of you and Damo huffin n puffin
  2. Fark it's quiet in here! Is everyone out working or something? Or has FB killd our tarmac Rally thread.
  3. So, besides Briz, who's as always SUPER helpful, who's been to the Monza round? Any must do's or Must NOT do's?
  4. Bloody hell! You caught and passed that Mazda FAST! That Renault's a weapon!
  5. Oh I think Paul can handle himself around there too mate........ Besides, it's nearly two years since I've been on track there!
  6. I like it! And that red steering wheel will match your lipstick......
  7. No Daneil Lemish I am not. Lolol
  8. Thanks for those kind words JayZeePea! Cheque is in the mail mate!
  9. Still, I look forward to seeing how you end up with it Paul How to fix camber changes..... Is it really all about the speed though? If ya wanna impress your mates, just upload in-car to YewToobe with a sneaky 15% increase in play speed. Everyone will think you're a weapon then, and your nav will sound like he's just really excited! It really is more about the event than winning a class I reckon (spoken by a bloke who's not won much lol)
  10. Congrats on the new addition Paul! Sneaky fella aren't you.... not a whisper of it Further enquiries re Rexy's dak dak brakes. Good authoretehhh tells me CAMS disabled and sealed the system prior to the event. Well there ya go. The old fox can steer a bit Other news says there will be further simple steps taken to completely eradicate the use of ABS where it's not allowed.
  11. Ah, ok, thanks Benny M. I noticed the Hendy rear diffuser, looked cool. I dunno how it survived either given the low rea rend. Stroke testing was VERY welcome. I know some competitors were very gratified that the testing was done. It vindicated their results. Why some people insist on stroking their cars when it's plainly obvious they can't drive for shit escapes me. Spend the money on driving lessons champ. Re the ABS issue. I don't want to go into a big discussion over it because I get along with and really rate the bloke in question, but I have a long conversation with him and he stated that, while he does have the ABS fitted to the car, he switches it off. I was taking a breath to reply, "yes but surely you switch it on too?" when he quickly added "but but but I also remove the wiring harness to the ABS unit". Take from that what you will. I'd like to express my gratitude to Messrs Perry and Benson for putting on an awesome Targa. I even enjoyed the two nights in Strahan! Rinadeena in the semi-dry on the way in was a stage of beauty. And new STi's are GOOD THINGS! Me and my mate Rhino really enjoyed our split roles this year. We're still smiling!
  12. No. That's for third. Second will be the proud receiver of a Crying Angry Dragon.
  13. I'm not sure what your tryin to say, but fu k it, group reach arounds for everyone!
  14. Shame to see Tim Hendy go out on the second last stage with a diff failure. A great looking car, looks fast, and has horsies to burn!
  15. I stumbled across this thread doing my customary search for "reach around". Count me in you little cuties!
  16. Early ML270 are pretty terrible things Rich. Very rattly, fair bit of lag, and don't really drive nice. Poorly built too. A mate had one from new. Even then it was a bit ordinary.
  17. If you want to hear the chant, "COP THAT QUINNY........ RB TWENTY!!!!!", then yes, I'm your man
  18. Shall see all you gaybos down there Monday arv!
  19. He specifically asked for DIESEL. Don't make me quote the post.
  20. Richard, the little TDi in the Hyundai is a trooper. Torquey and smooth. As much as it pains me to say it.... I kind of rate them a little bit. lol I haven't towed with one, but I'd expect them to tow better than a lighter, sedan based vehicle with similar power/torque, as we've discussed 'til we're blue in the face. D40 Nirvanas are a good thing no doubt, with the auto diesel easily the pic, but, a good one with reasonable kays is still a late 20's proposition. And to be realistic, they're still not a "family car"........ the rear seat is upright, the dynamics are still very much "leaf sprung ute", and so is the fit and finish. I also have my doubts about how well they "crash" from a safety viewpoint. So no, not a "family" vehicle in my mind.
  21. I guess the biggest question is what is your all up weight of what you're towing. Remember, be realistic, because if there's an accident, the insurance company will definately be checking. Personally, I reckon I'd be looking at an "SUV" style of vehicle and if TDi, I'd demand it be automatic tranny..... and my #1 pick for a balance of reliability and quality would be a SanteFe. I know someone who has a few as company vehicles, is on their second batch, and have never once had an issue. 2 tonne capacity too, so it has a bit up its sleeve. Haggle on something like this or buy a private one; http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/hyundai-santa-fe-2007-12199428?base=1216&vertical=Car&Range=Price:Min,25000~1&eapi=2&sort=default&cr=0&__N=1246 1247 1252 1282 1216&silo=Stock&find=diesel hyundai AWD|CarAll A diesel Grand Vitara would go close, but I can't remember if they were available as an auto. Something like this; http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/suzuki-grand-vitara-2009-12144469?base=1216&vertical=Car&Range=Price:Min,25000~1|Year:2008,Max&eapi=2&sort=default&cr=0&__N=1246 1247 1252 1282 1216&silo=Stock&find=diesel vitara |CarAll X-Trails and Captivas are ghay.... can't tow squat. And, FWIW, I would avoid euro like the plague. Especially a DSG equiped euro. I love the way they drive and "feel", but they're not a wise 2nd hand "out of warranty" purchase in my opinion.
  22. I'm glad to be corrected
  23. I hear its not actually servicable, and $9k is the figure for a replacement. Would be better off buying a whole BF to rape and pillage.
