  1. haha, I've owned many a shitter, and enjoyed most of them.
  2. No doubt they are a good thing. I sussed them out at the dealer, but sheesh, even at "mates rates", bloody hard to swallow the price for what is essentially, a bloody basic ute with some tinsel and a half decent engine. No wonder the dealerships report they're not selling them in any numbers, and we're not seeing them on the road.
  3. The new SRT8 is definately on my radar mate, but realistically, I need to weigh up the extra costs of running any sort of non-commercial vehicle versus a 100% claimable vehicle. It's in the several-thousand-dollar-per-year annoyance area. I'm looking forward to taking a closer look at one when they are available. The diesel JGC that JZP runs is also tempting mainly for the amazing economy, but is also a big FBT attractor. I have the opportunity right now to purchase a 2011 FPV GS ute done 3,000klm, with proper suspension under it, staggered 20" wheels, exhaust/extractors/pulleys/tune and well over 500hp at the treads, for $45k. That's a decent saving, and lot of sow for the money, is also 100% claimable. That is seriously sounds like a V8 Supercar is merely a bonus At least there's options. I got great money for my Jeep so took the opportunity to step out of it ($2,800 P.A. depreciation aint bad!). I'm driving a "shitter" until I make up my mind. I reckon its liberating not having to give a shit about what I drive daily. Is this the beginning of the end for me? lol
  4. V10 cameltowrag is 750nm I think. Ample. The VM diesel in the common V6 diesels all offer around 550nm. Also enough Some pretty amazing fuel figures coming out of diesel Jeep owners too! Despite all that, I'm really having to resist getting a Supercharged Coyote.
  5. I sold my Jeep. I now have a temporary Falcon sedan. I towed my car trailer with random shit on it last week, with much less than my car weight on it. The Falcon was shit in comparison. Power isn't the issue, it's just a case of not enough tow vehicle mass, the Falcon gets pushed around by the towed load. I now miss my Jeep.
  6. Vesh, neither of those vehicles is sufficient to tow a GTR in my opinion. Short hops I'd maybe risk it from a safety and legality aspect, but certainly not any distance. Falcon is way over capacity, Kia is on the limit and I doubt it would cope well.
  7. Me too! If I can swing it I'm coming down to fish a tournament with Mozz and the lads on the Double Black on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and see everyone at the Tugga Bar on Sunday night! Only thing holding me back from booking the flights is I stupidly signed contracts for a bloody property settlement on the following monday! Grrrrr, IDIOT!
  8. Are you going to tell us the figure?
  9. Neither are glamour models, but the DR has lots of racing wins under it's belt, giving it instant cred, despite it looking, to be honest, fairly ordinary! really, they never looked nice, even when new.
  10. Yes, I believe you could, But you'd still have to look at it.
  11. How about we all throw a bit of cash in the pool for Uncle Dunc to enter the GTR... you'd be a shoe in wouldn't ya? It's definately colourful enough!
  12. The amount of monied guys around buying up every piece of FJ20 gear they can find (many gravel cars in the build) will make the DR hard to run as cheaply as a 32/33/34. And yeah, great news about Classic Radelaide.... you must have assumed I was calling you about that this morning Stu Benno?! lol
  13. Maserati Quatraporte that went on one of Roy's binging holidays and had an affair with a Hyundai S Coupe? It's bloody terrible innit!
  14. I see no issues, all makes sense to me.
  15. Talking to Gus Kennard over the weekend, he said lapping the Mountain in the blinding rain with GT cars passing at hellish rates and sucking up 6ft high spray was more frightening than anything he'd done.... And he's defs going back next year!
  16. "Turbo Frog" is much easier.....
  17. Quick change of subject, Simsy and Chrisso in the RS200 @ Rally Calder this weekend. Apparently, 660hp is the figure. That'll be interesting! Back to "real" tarmac rallying, you're gay Benson.
  18. Well done Stu, and nice write up mate. Shame you had a couple of niggles, but for a fresh car, to finish, with just that little issue, bloody good effort!
  19. Absolutely Vivien, cheaters are gonna cheat where they can. Thing is, if they're allowed to run rife, and never get caught, what is the carrot to run within the rules. I still reckon a small team tasked with keeping a close eye on rubber throughout the event has some legs. A line needs to be drawn somewhere. It's like capacity checks, they need to be done. Cheating with tyres will give you more speed than any other single illegal mechanical modification in my opinion.
  20. The carrot is there, trust me. If, for instance, there was a fresh set of rubber available for Arrowsmith, I can seriously say that at least a second a kilometre would be forthcoming...... on one stage! A minute on ONE stage. It would be worth positioning two guys in the bush with a set just for this stage. Other crew could be (and always are) positioned at the end of Arrowsmith for a dose of fuel, they'll swpa back to legal rubber for the transport. Don't be so quick to fob it off I reckon.
  21. "happy not targa-ing it" is what I said.... and I never mentioned selling the 32. Anyway, it's gone now...... moving on!
  22. Yeah I reckon it was just the 'right" car, being a genuine Nur gave it a massive helping along for me. TBH, I'd be happy not targa-ing it, but a few sprint days, sunday mornings, and just owning a caged Nur, that'd be pretty cool. White with a white cage is the coolest of cools. That kind of car I'd get as much enjoyment looking at it in the garage as driving it.
  23. I just spoke to Kevin, it's FARKING SOLD! Went up yesterday, sold yesterday. Told him if it falls through, no haggling, I will buy it.
  24. Ok, tell me I'm being silly..... Discuss! http://my105.com/ListingDetails/tabid/65/p/1/cid/522/id/6772/Default.aspx
  25. Tyre warmers.... in a helicopter!!!!!!
