I reckon the latest, refined RadCam is the shizzle. The smaller, detachable camera head would make setting it up easier, and of course the extended battary is welcome. They're tough too! Mine was suction cupped to the side of Coop's 32 GTR when he smacked the wall hard at Lakeside (thanks for that Murphy), but besides a scratch, no problem!

I have to disagree, as I reckon that's fine if you only want to hear nav calls and heavy breathing from a fat driver, not if you like a mix of car sounds too.
-
As Martyboy suggested to me long ago when I got my RadCam from him I went and got a cheap powered external micrphone. The supplied RadCam one works well, even better with a wind muffle thingy over it, but the external option and little wind muffler works a treat. External mic is the ONLY way to go IMO. I place mine up under the dash out of the breeze when alone in the car, or clip it to Timmy's seat head restraint when rallying so we get a good mix of his note calling and the car's sound. *** All of my YouTube stuiff with two of us in the car (except 999 duty in the Evo) is recorded on a POV1 but I'm sure the RadCam will do just as good of a job but with improved picture once properly set up..

The GoPro is the single biggest reason we see so many YouTube videos with terrible songs overlayed..... the sound is so bad that noone wants to listen to it. For car related stuff, the sound is half of the enjoyment, but if it's that Corby guy jumping off mountains, it's not an issue....

Nice, and yeah, I completely understand why people choose Evo's, heck, I was damned close to getting one too, and still would if I were hell-bent on winning something! Fiscally, Evos certainly make sense, and by most accounts the later ones are quite reliable. It's just really hard to stand out in one, people seldom watch them come past and say "wow that sounds awesome" or "Far out see how sideways he had that!"..... They just don't invoke much passion. And I'm a passionate man. Happy Valentines Day you guys!

If you sold even half of your brake setups there's your Targa campaign right there Roy.

Engine Build And Future Amateur Competition
Marlin replied to Marco-R34GTT's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
If you REALLY loved the idea of doing Targa, you'd build a car to suit it without hesitation. The thrill of doing a tarmac rally will far outweigh the thrill of having an additional 200 killerwasps. -
Showroom Evo is certainly the easy way out. But for me, this sport is as much about driver satisfaction as it is about clinically discecting a piece of road. And when in an Evo, you're expected to go well, because if you don't, well, it's only the crew's fault.

So Will Sau Folk Still Refuse To Watch V8 Supercars

You're an angry bitch tonight.... are you still hungover from the weekend? I didn't quote you, I was merely taking from your post what I thought you intended. And yep, understand what you've said re the 2 litres, but I'm not convinced manufacturer support is the "be all and end all" (not quoting you, just saying ) of a successful tin top formula. Besides, there's a bunch of Australian families and businesses with more money to throw at motor racing than Ford and Holden. Those two simply pounced when the timing was right, then proceeded to slowly back away from supporting the series. -

Wanting to put Holden and Ford on a pedestal and thanking them for "saving" Australian tin top racing is going a little far though. They were just as aggressive toward the concurrently run Australian chamionship as the V8 brigade. Fighting for prominence against the V8's was Super Tourers. 2 litre cars from Hyundai to BMW were involved. The stoush between what became V8SCA and the 2 litre formula is well documented, with Alan Gow (CEO of the 2 litres) unfortunaly underestimating the competition. And yeah, I'm aware Longhurst was allowed some speedy freedoms to compete. It just would have been nice is the door was kept open to other manufacturers. It's a shame its taken 20 years to allow it, and now the cars are so far removed from anything even remotely showroom based it's just a bit hard for me personally to get too excited about it. -
Glad you blokes have been bitten..... makes the rest of us feel more sane Come on Nick, give it up, tell us about it!

Unlucky for Snowy and Roy Looks like a bit of trailing throttle oversteer, then hit a slightly wetter patch, and just not enough room to correct the big girl's slide

Nah I remember the M3 running directly against the V8's..... there was a year's grace wasn't there for Longhurst and co? -
Yeah come on, when are we getting all the in depth analysis from the weekend. Heck, even from someone who saw it from the sidelines would be good! Andrew..... Troy?

Yeah that's him, I couldn't remember his name. Lack of any real talent didn't help the dude, and tuning of GTR's was still in it's infancy way back then (at least here in Oz anyway). I remember buying a set of "Nismo Grp A" turbos of his R33 when he got out of it circa 2001. No wonder it was so slow, they were truly appalling. Even N1's offered better performance. haha -
Spit on his butt for added effect. No. I've never seen RedTube.

Just f**k already.

Our mate Hooch seems able to find Tilton gear at the right price. Holler before you buy BP.

A silver R33 it was. Can't remember the dudes name now, but had several heavy accidents in it. Several reshells were required. -

Try not to leave it as the "last" thing to go in. They're not a simple fit, and having intrusion bars etc in the road doesn't make it easier. With the car stripped just try and envisage where the relationship between seat/wheel/cage will be, and take it from there.
-
Whether hung or floor mount is VERY much dependant on the vehicle, and how you sit in it mate. I'd suggest waiting until you have a seat and wheel dummied into place and then make the call. Floor mount is usually preferable and easier to adjust and service, but, some vehicles just don't suit them, and smaller cars are usually the most challenging.

Yes but what I enjoy Roy is development, and this formula doesn't really have any given the fixed spec. All the cars are designed and limited to allow identical performance. It DOES make for good racing, but the tech side doesn't excite me. Freddy Gibson nailed it in 1993 when he replied to a question asking what he thought of the new V8 formula, he was running Winfield Commodores you'll remember... He replied, " the boys don't like working on these shitter cars.... the technical challenge just isn't there. We could have chosen a Falcon or Commodore, it doesn't matter, it's all about who brings us the most money." I'd LOVE to see the Aussie cars going up against Eachother in a more reality based car, they're both excellent platforms. Hell, the new supercharged engine has made the Falcon an animal. Several mates own them and I'm a huge fan! 500hp plus at the treads with pipes and simple tune. Outstanding! Dan, from my iPhone -
