  1. Thanks, you're a good nephew And there you have it. ^^^ I think it's basically the same formula that Mark Oastler suggested would be a good idea going forward to keep it intersting. When did he suggest this? Oh, circa 1996! If only they'd listened then...... And, for what it's worth, having Nissan join with their own Nasc... sorry, Supercar, won't help grass roots Aussie motorsport. The "show" still sucks up all the money, and fields half it's races on non-permanent tracks. Tracks that YOU and I, cannot ever drive on.
  2. A lot of you blokes need to go and read about the V8 Supercar 'Car of the Future" before dribbling on here.. EDIT: and no not you MBS206, you just have peculiar timing lol
  3. LOL @ "first" Thanks Stu, good to hear. And Timmy, the new BMW's are also running BW I think from what I've read? Got rid of twins on the sixes for a single twin scroll? Has Gav driven the little Frog in anger yet?
  4. And come on Blaise, doesn't Schnappy the German crocodile just make you smile?
  5. I was going to write a long reply about how Jimmy himself also couldn't believe the pace and assumed our car's illegality, but I've decided not to bother, it's too long ago. Contrary to popular automotive folklore though, it seems Porsche was actually the first manufacturer with ABS in 1974, not Mercedes. A 2.5? Well, I hoped that someone had put a head gasket in the thing. There was a "xxxxxxx performance cylinder heads" sticker on the bumper when I bought it, so I assumed something special was in there. But no, I was jipped, all stock
  6. I have it on good authority that any "good" bits had well and truly left the building before we got our hands on the 34. I was actually referring to the 32 re engine mount wing nuts... you may recognize the car,.... by it's tail lights
  7. Oh I remember alright, and I thank my lucky stars that I had the forethought to equipe the engine mounts with wing nuts so we could do a quick swap out in the middle of the night.
  8. Yep, glorified drag racing, that's all tarmac rallying is.....
  9. ^^^^ Spoken like a true Emo stroker million killerwasp cheater
  10. I spent a week sitting in the car with Eddie doing 999 duty last year, so it came as no suprise to me that he did extremely well. He's fast! And I do hate it when rumors start and undermine a great result..... Besides, my opinion has always been, the car is only 20 or 30 percent of any result.
  11. Oh really, that's MEGA-shit and very disappointing if that's true I knew there had been some questions swirling around over the car's elligibility re shocks, but I wasn't there to witness anything, therefore can't comment.
  12. Credit where credit is due Scott Don't forget the Showroom cars either ...... for instance Eddie's Emo 8 GSR Showroom car, 7th Outright.
  13. And a big tip of the hat to Matty Rickards with my great mate Squeak mumbling the notes beside him. Had been hearing for years the man can steer, and with a car under him that goes the distance that's been proven. To beat Tony Warren in what I imagine is a very similar spec car is going well.
  14. True, nicely done Cyclone! How is David, living in Noosa yet? And my hat goes off to Eddie Macguire with Steve Glenney calling in Showroom 4WD, first tarmac rally, totally legal Aussie delivered 6 speed equiped Evo 8 GSR, 180kw ATW.... and smashed them senseless! Word from a strong competitor was "how the hell do we compete with THIS!?!?!)
  15. jibba. ***************** Jabba. Go Close! #1 fan; Woo
  16. No coverage in the Airwalk (Tahune). Even the radio link is patchy. Epic shot of the Norton STi going off befiore the Perana joined it.
  17. YT dropped time, Fathom up to P1!
  18. Mr O'Keefe keeping the cheater Emo's honest, and the Strongman, aka MarineTowing, only 7 secs behind. Interesting watching Eames getting his head around a GTR this event.
  19. Sims off, Quinn with "ABS issues", bring Captain Fathom into 2nd behind YT! Great stuff. Qld mates Millar/Dean leading Showroom, good buffer over Evans. Keen to see if they can keep him at bay! And another SAU member Matt, aka "BlueGTR" leading Early Modern with my great mate Squeak sitting beside him. Great stuff!
