  1. It's important to remember that what Queenslanders call Sprints are quite different to southern states. Qld Sprints are traditionally non competetive times laps with cars in groups of similar pace for safety reasons. Therefore, I see the two words "cheating" and "sprints" as an oxymoron. And FWIW, my best time around Lakeside (that several of us here frequent), was achieved on R comps, not slicks. The slicks however, lasted longer, and were therefore more cost effective.
  2. I have a set of Kuhmo "Cheater slicks" here that have only done maybe 20 road kilometres Harry...... so tell me brother, would you risk it?
  3. Why you felt the need for "targa" and "fish" references has me puzzled. I didn't realise you found me so abrasive. My apologies if I've somehow offended you Richard. Well, in a sprint, would you agree that you really are only racing yourself? Or are we on a completely different page? Sure, if there's someone you benchmark and would like to beat, then so be it. But I feel, to be handing out trophies for fastest 4, 6 and 8 cylinder cars on a sprint day I find completely pointless. It's pseudo competition and contrary to what a sprint day's mantra is, and that is non competetive timing.
  4. Hmmmm, I dunno, not sure If I like the 8 tyre thing.
  5. I reckon supply each spactator a mouthguard and be done with it.
  6. Having said that, any stage is only good if it's not easy cleanable, which we discovered after we last ran it, that we beat the base time by a ridiculous 3 minutes or something. I'll say again, NO POINT having stages that are cleanable after the morning of day 1 and town stages. (Town stages should have a low and un-cleanable base time too, all the spectators think we're all a bunch off nuff nuffs that drive around like we're driving Miss Daisy).
  7. Yeah, the torque is what talks, never mind the HP figure.
  8. Reece Dam was a piece of piss, even doing Ari Vatenen impersonations over top gear crests into the setting sun. I rated it, well, right up until we nearly crashed on YT's oil from his punctured gearbox on a 5th gear right hander. Very close to throwing the $100k leased car away Still, I loved its high speed nature. And given Forth is next to Devonport, I think the stage might be called Braddon's lookout. Part of the stage used a road to a lookout, can't recall the name. It's only a shortish one, but it's a money stage if you recce it good, especially the first few klm, it's very deceiving (every corner appears to tighten), but it's actually likely to be flat out if you're on it.
  9. ^^^ that's what I was wondering? The new model BMW 120i would be the go, grunty little 1.6 with a Borg Warner snail on it
  10. i ran the new stage near Forth when I was down there at New Years. It's pretty cool, the residents will have an awesome viewpoint, and there's a super big jump at the finish!
  11. Some guys here are using the Hankook cheater slick with much success up here. Value from TR too as you've said. And yep, I'll back Harry on his description. That's exactly how it went down, I was there for each failure. Lucky it wasn't much worse. Hideous tyres.
  12. Oh. I thought he was of stronger character than that.......
  13. Way off topic, but in regard to the Qld Sprint series, who gives a f**k about so called cheating? I don't, it's a Sprint for christs sake. You're racing to clock, no one else.
  14. So he's not loving the life of a Lady-Boy after he burst his testicles on his bike tank?
  15. Yeah I've been trying to get a hold of the Baron for a while Fatz (as has Berry funnily enough), I hope he's ok? Can you confirm? And yeah, Mark get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction doing things himself.
  16. He hates them with a pashion, so don't hold your breath.......
  17. Yes my mate Mingay has a similar Chev with a Supercharged big clock in it (on gas). Tows nicely, but FARK ME is it expensive to run!!!!!
  18. Go girls! Edit: - Bali???!!! I thought you were more of a Maldives guy Andrew....
  19. , really? I find that statement ridiculous!
  20. It was mint condition, complete with clips (someone didn't fit it correctly I reckon), and I owe Dr Pritchard for helping me out at a rally in the middle of the night when I fell quite ill. Top fella
  21. Ohhhhh, he's THAT guy! Well, if it's any consolation, I found his front splitter on a stage when doing the 00 car duties. I reckon they're worth a bob or three, and promptly gave it to Mikey Pritchard as a spare
  22. I was assuming we wwere talking about the V6 diesel Q7/Toureg.... which from memory serves up 550nm.
  23. Very similar underpinnings, fractionally shorter wheelbase. Obviously that era is all petrol V8's, and will use more full than a diesel version which uses the VW/Audi engine.
  24. He has Benny. Why aren't you running FFS, it's just down the road! And Strong-man, who's the dude in the Porsche you're referring to? And who wants to go halves in a 996 Turbo to smack 'em all senseless? Timmy?
