  1. Is that why you take two minutes for a minute lap?
  2. Unsure if a re-post. SebVet in the new RBR sim (). chortle @ 1 minute. Note also the race line assist ON
  3. ^^^ And there you have it However, if you're one of the lucky ones who seem to have an excess of CASHHHHHHH then I say have a crack at it. But go in with your eyes open and have realistic goals.
  4. If you can afford it, do it. Life is short brother! Granted the speed difference is substantial, but I reckon it's still 40klm/h and I think the camera makes it appear as if there's more room than there actually was when the pass was actually made. I also reckon the time spent in the "danger zone" by the Lotus was less. Anyways, a non issue for me I'd just like to have a punt in that Lotus!
  5. Hmmm, I don't see an issue personally. Everyone should be well aware of what is behind them at all times. I'm seldom passed at the track but am constantly very aware of anyone behind me. Here at 7:20 I pass an Alpha and a Datto in a similar fashion. Not dangerous, assuming the passing driver has made sufficient calculations in his head of the likely movements of the cars he's going to pass, and the slower cars aren't really "racing/dicing" or making any crazy weaving moves that I would deem silly anyway. http://www.youtube.com/user/BennyTheWoo?feature=mhee#p/u/15/M9L49eCE7RU
  6. And you can V-mount everything too. The RX8 gets to, so everyone else can now too. I'm keeping a close eye out for an ex-Super GT300 chassis. Should pass easily.
  7. That's more like it! Well done!
  8. Thats a good looking car. Shame we can't read about it in the MOTORSPORT section where it belongs!
  9. I'd simply repair the head and slap a good piston and rod assy out of the other engine into it after a light hone. Unless it has actually damaged the bore to a point you need to bore it? If the latter I'd just junk it and start again. Forgies aren't worth the expence, you're not near the limit of the stock gear yet.
  10. Cyber @ 800? Yeah nah no farkin way
  11. You have to spend serious money to get them to go and be reliable.
  12. He's talking R32, so, to quote; BRAKES AND SUSPENSION • Front Endless slotted and ventilated rotors • Front - Std Nissan four-piston callipers w/EBC green pads • Rear - Std Nissan twin-piston callipers w/Bendix pads • Rear Std Nissan ventilated rotors I'm telling ya, they'll last half a lap. 33/34 Brembo would do a lap with the right options. Cyber Emo runs std Brembo calipers with upgraded rotors etc. but an Evo will always be lighter than a GTR, by a long shot. How anyone is supposed to do proper testing to get a car to work properly, with brakes that just last a lap and are as inconsistant as hell has got me phucked. Next.
  13. Welcome mate. I like the cut of your jib! Stick around
  14. First I've heard of your issue mate. Sorry to hear I hope the thieves rot in hell.
  15. My father purchased one of the first to be delivered Rover SD1's in Oz. Well, two actually. Yes, he was obviously led astray by them winning Euro car of the year. Funily enough, both were superbly reliable, despite us living at the end of 15klm of corrugated dirt road. You can imagine how excited I was as a young and car-mad 10 year old in 1985 when the Group A Mobil sponsored SD1's were here Dad was also more than chuffed They weren't fast in outright terms, especially not up against the big-banger Group C's they raced against, but they were a mighty fine looking race car I reckon. I cherish my Bathurst 84/85 yearbook with all the great photos.
  16. LOL, I retract my statement. Yesterday your post stated it's done a 53.9. Hence I said THAT IS QUICK. Today your post has been altered and says 59.3. Now I have to ask, What is the hold up?
  17. I completely agree. I just felt it important that you guys know that.
  18. That is QUICK! Superb stuff Steve!
  19. I'm ashamed I've only just stumbled across this thread Neil! Moving the cool car (read proper race cars with cages) threads from the Motorsport section was a mistake. I said that at the time. Nice build mate! Your hectic engine bay looks as hard core as mine! lol
  20. Anywhere between a genuine 430 to 500AWKW is ample if the car it light enough. I'll be suprised if its not cooking after a lap. You'll also need to do everything you can to try and fix the inbuilt issues with suspension geometry that an R32 has. The Ikea Formula catalogue is a basic start, but to have a truly fast cat you're talking custom. As in, starting from scratch. Off the shelp stuff will never cut it. It's designed for road cars and the ability to easily bolt-on. And yes, it'll need brakes. If it really has that much grunt you'll maybe get half a lap before they're on fire
  21. I can only speak from what I know, and I'm assuming you're referring to Advan 295 tyre. There was a short supply given the tyres were literally transported straight from manufacture to Australia for the event. Conspiracy theorists like to think there was something special about them because they weren't available in Japan at the time. There wasn't, it was merely a brand new size in the range and was rushed out for the event. Your dislike for the event is well documented. I have no aspirations to compete myself, but I think the spectacle is pretty awesome. labelling it an expensive sprint meet is a bit rich. I've yet to attend a sprint meet that has top level cars from around the world in attendance! lol Calling Superlap a glorified sprint meet is akin to calling Wimbledon a fancy tennis match.
  22. I agree with most of the above.... the power is there, now you need it to stop and turn, and make it last for the event. First think I'd be doing is dry sumping it. It will never live long without it, no 26 will, well, not if you lap the 'Creek in undwer 1:40 anyway. But I have to ask Dunc, where do you get this shit mate?
  23. I heard they called you Ken, as in the doll, because you pulled it so hard it came right off.
  24. Upon comparing them again, the gearing does look close. It's the way yours pulls like a schoolboy in top gear that is the big difference!
