  1. I'll be messing with the F1 game's settings in hope of replicating the Ute's behaviour. 100 metre mark you say... PFFFFT, look out champ, coz at that rate I'll be diving up the inside. Keep an eye out for me!
  2. I must get around to loading PS3 F1 2010 to refresh my memory of the track!
  3. ABSOLUTELY PUMPED for it!!!!!! I am here fist pumping like a champ typing one handed! I'm not pleased about not saucing it up Friday though! Dan, it's more about an opportunity to thank some sponsors and let them "experience" the car. Given tarmac rally cars are approved for passengers we can go full tilt. No, it's not a rally stage. No, it's not even timed. But, we get to drive the full F1 course as fast as we want, and show passengers (whether that be sponsor/spouse/mate/whatever) what the cars can do. Add to that the cars being displayed all weekend, AND a 4 day pass to the Brabham corporate stand, I reckon it's well wicked!
  4. It, and They, look Fag.
  5. Yeah my bud's was an early batch I think. GoJeep is doing stunning work. He has that thread replicated on my forum. So, back to the subject at hand. . . . How good is Jesus!?
  6. There's a bunch of threads about it on jeepgarage.org.... full length sunroofs get plenty of airtime. His has them in the big roof, the c pillars, the seats, and something under the floor. It also wants to turn left all the time, and nobody seems able to align that out of it. Nearly like they didn't alter the geometry for RHD vehicles. The dealer has given up and is running the "they all do that" line. I feel particularly bad because I suggested he get one after I had such a good run from my Austrian built WK1 which he loved. Doh! Thankfully, HE still loves it
  7. How is your WK2 for squeeks and rattles. My mate's Hemi Limited has them everywhere..... too many to begin chasing them in fact. New Patrol, I could maybe live with the styling, but really, how awful are those front guard vent things.... chuck-spew!
  8. They DO have "trailer sway mitigation" and by all accounts are an excellent tow vehicle.
  9. Yeah I have seen it. It wouldn't stop me from buying one to be honest, and there is a couple of question marks over the test procedure and the testers themselves. I don't really have much more of an opinion on it than that. What stopped me from buying another Jeep was my desire for something more utilitarian and my concerns over the WK2's list of issues that Jeep Australia seems unable to find fixes for. Way too many instances of these things on the beach and a "Servie 4WD" light comes on and they lose all 4WD ability. People are getting embarrasingly stuck all over the country. I think they rushed this one out, and being over a year ahead of it's "twin under the skin" ML Merc says the same.
  10. Hey at least the 4.8 is a cracker when Turbocharged. Now get to it.
  11. Excellent pics! My buddys Herridge & Kennard and Team's good run in the class leading STi ended when their co-driver got tapped by an overtaking Porsche and turned into the wall at the 8hr mark sadly.
  12. One dealer I spoke to shifts an average of 28 Navaras a month. The diesel Patrols used to sell in numbers around half that consistantly they said. How many of the NEW Patrol have they sold since the release.... with all the "new model hype" etc? Three. Yes, fawking THREE. lol it's a dud.
  13. LOL, Hey, I'm just saying! (Oh, and trying to get you to STFU about this "hugely impressive" power figure of the Patrol!)
  14. Most of those makes and models you list sell in great numbers in the TDi versions. Seldom is a petrol version spotted, and when they are, they're rarely used for towing but rather commuting. Of course the new Patrol would be a great tow car with ample power, BUT, the reality is that economy matters to most people, and the TDi versions do that better. Nissan dealers that I've spoken to recently are all disappointed there'll be no diesel option, stating that enquiries are all about "when is the diesel coming?" Slightly different market, but look at where Jeep is with the WK2 Grand Cherokee which is a good tow vehicle with 3,500kg capacity and 350kg ball weight. The 5.7 "Hemi" makes 260KW and 520Nm and is a sporty drive, but the diesel outsells is massively. Why? Yes, fuel economy. If it's massive petrol V8 grunt you want, get the SRT8 version. 344KW and 624Nm..... that'll run 12's.
  15. Heck of a stretch, and would no doubt annoy the piss out of you day to day. The iDrive type controller remains on the wrong side too.... as does the volume knob for the stezza, that's it on the far left. I spotted that coz my new 550 Nav is like that too, but I guess its lucky there's a volume adjustment on the wheel too.
  16. Tundra's are all petrol powered and left hand drive aren't they? I've seen a couple, look alright, but they're still just like a "1500" Dodge/ford etc and not really a hell wicked tow vehicle in that size. They're just big. And the right hand drive conversion just makes all of them outrageously expensive (for what they are). In the US they make some sense, but here.... less so. 2500 and up is a different story.
  17. Still sitting there without a turbo on it the poor thing.
  18. Looks like [email protected] to me my friend..... Get onto him!
  19. Oh is an absolutely AMAZING gift to be allowed to do mate, no doubt at all! As you say, being able to be a part of it in such a way is very special. Catching up with everyone, driving the roads, and a part I found particularly satisfying, speaking to officials out on the stages and giving thanks without being rushed in a competetive car. Volunteer officials are such an integral part of the sport. Buckby Subaru have been a great supporter of the event and I hope they continue to be so. The owners compete, and they and their crew are top notch fellas. They ever so kindly gave us a new STi for Targa Tas last year, and it was the PERFECT car for doing the event in that role of 999/PR. Fast and comfortable, and very surefooted. Saying that, the bloody stereo completely confounded our efforts to use it even once! All it needed mid-event was some race fluid, and we managed to boil it on a few occasions. They actually sent a mechanic out the previous night in "our car" to put a couple of hundred kays on it so we didn't frighten the run in procedure too much Such good memories
  20. So do I, but WHY has it slowed so much? I'm stoked if we can keep it going!
  21. I run 265's on a 9" (34 GTR wheel +30) on the front of a 32 GTS-t with no issues. Just a guard roll.
  22. Well said Blaise, I concurr 100%! And yeah Scott, GREAT news mate on the schooling! I know you're keen for something new, and I wish you well mate! BTW, did you know Captain Fathom's fathom's old boy is a pilot in Burnie? How fkn much of a crack were you havin Close!?!? Gonna have to call you Pestrana.
  23. With the amount of electrical gremlins the Sims guys have anyone could think they bought a tsunami ravaged car! Its Rullo that has all the gearbox issues, not Simms from what I know. Yeah Blaise, I reckon FB has created a massive downturn in forum threads. Its a real shame, as I truly value "our" little corner of the Universe in here. Like-minded dudes, on mostly the same page. Facey is a very different medium.
  24. You been googling your name again Cap'n? All is pretty quiet on the forum from these days, except when Savman wants to "anonymously" suggest someone is shitkunt cheating kunt. I think Facebook has killed the radio star? Sad to see these forums downturn. despite that, congratualtions to Team Close, stunningly fast car and crew. It's really great to see all your hard work paying dividends. I know how much time and effort you put into it, and how little assistance there is from outside sources. As is always the case, competing in a fairly rare car is always more of a battle than common stuff. Cracking effort from you too Scott (marinetowing). A real shame that you had that issue early on. Once that was sorted you were putting in great times! I'm glad you drove too. Car survived in once piece! Edit; Scott, surely you're reconsidering retirement and "doing" Big Tugga?
  25. If chosing Nissan new be aware that many come pre-cracked. Truthfully, we returned for replacement two brand new cranks when X-rays showed cracks.
