  1. I gotta agree. There is bolt ins and bolt ins. And just like weld ins, Not all are created equal.
  2. Left drive only I think. Just like Nissan Titan ute/truck, which is also cool. I've a very good friend who imports Rams. Absolute powerhouses, but in the good towing sizes of 2500 and 3500, they're just that bit too big and trucky. The 1500 sizes aren't better towing rigs than lots of vehicles we have access to hear without doing cost prohibitive steering conversions.. That goes for the competing Fords and Chevs as well. A Ford/Chev/Dodge deisel 2500 @ 40 to 60k would be a good thing. But at 90 to 120k plus, yeah no thanks.
  3. Depends what you're used to I guess. 298kw/560Nm (at pretty big revs for both 5,800 and 4,000 rpm respectively) is hardly setting the worth alight for something weighing 2,700kg... Noel-baby. Can still only tow 3,500kg. Target market is the UAE I think? 140 litre fuel tank, yet, no bullbar available ex Nissan?
  4. What's disappointing is there is no plans for any tdi patrol. I've taken a look too. Great interior, meh outside. Definately a soft option now. Can't see them selling many.
  5. Now THAT, is fawking awesome! I'm cancelling the paperwork first thing in the morning!!!!
  6. Rick Shaw makes them live. Benson and I have spoken at length about doing the 12hr in his rotor. RX7's have won the 12 before. Of course they can be made to live, don't stress. Braaap braap braaap... BRAAAAAPPP BRAAAAAAAAAAPP BANG!
  7. ha, bit rich coming from the man who's killed more RB20's than in the history of the known Universe.
  8. Yerrrrrrs. If you'd like me to take a look at that for you, just say the word mate.
  9. What is cheaper? Free or el-cheapo?
  10. I'll be busting open my Oz GP hymen this year. Will be viewing from the Bragham corp thing with the Briz and Snow. Gettin amped up to drive the track too, pretty bloody cool I reckon!
  11. Ahhh yes, know the car and spoke to the driver prior to Prologue at THC. He chased me through the Prologue and neither he nor the car lack pace so its no suprise he can run at the front if there's no mechanical ear-shoes.
  12. Low range sand drags never get old. Just about anything feels like a weapon in low range
  13. Just closed the deal (finally) on a new top of the range STX 550. $54k drive away with a couple of small options. Pretty good buying I reckon. Well, at least a far more realistic price than what they were asking for them.
  14. I thought I made it clear enough in my original post re the Advan BNR34 that this was MY thought process, and wasn't at all trying to "prove" the car is anything? I know Mark wouldn't even WANT to go back to Open Class, not a chance in hell would he do that. I was merely putting it up for SAU discussion. And CNJ are the guys who dyno tune the cars, not owners.
  15. Yeah absolutely true, the front end would need to revert to std pickups. But I'm more asking that question on principal V any actual elligibility. On that rule..... it's interestingly worded. Could be read to mean a couple of different things.
  16. Certainly a huge gap. But, what outsiders don't see is the 34 is still relatively unsorted. Last year's effort was a substantially altered, and effectively a completely untested car rolling off the trailer for the first time. Whether sorted it could compete with those times is an unknown. What will be known this year is how good a 34 can be, if the whispers I hear that M-Speed is paying a visit come to fruition How about this for discussion? Why is the Advan R34 deemed as a "Pro" level car? It is majority built by one man, from home, in his spare time, and a bit of a hand from friends and family to run the thing. Should it not actually be an "Open" car? Or does having a Yoki sticker on the side instantly make it a Pro car? Why is the R32 from the same back yard garage viewed and entered as an Open car? Would the pace of the R34 be looked at differently if competed in Open? These are my questions, and my questions only. I'd like to make that clear.
  17. just further to this Blaise, I suggest running longer than normal studs too. Look at long studs that drag racers favour (and some classes require). Using an open-ended nut, the wheel stud protrudes right through it, allowing you to easily see at a glance they are in fact done up, AND allows vice grips on the stud if you ever have a siezed nut.
  18. Under $57k on road with 12 month reg, all the fruit inc hard drive thing, reverse cam etc, leather, leccy seats, liner.... seems reasonable value to me? Compare that to what you DON'T get in a Ranga....
  19. Well in the dual cabsI've been driving and comparing all the current crop ad nauseoum, and I keep coming back to the Navara STX 550. As a complete package it's hard to surpass. And the engine/box simply blows the others away.
  20. Yeah just re drill hubs to suit mate. If you still can't find the right stud, I'll give it a shot
  21. That is exactly not true my friend! Mark plans to absolutely be there in the R32 resplendent in its screaming splendor! It's a "jump in and drive" proposition, and is still on the trailer from last year and is ready to go again! Goes the show just what a fkn awesome car it is. He'd take the 34 but it needs a little reworking to remain within the rules. Time doesn't allow, so 32 @ 9k+ it is!
  22. I've driven my mates D22 3l and his subsequent 2.5l. The smaller donk definately drives better everywhere than the larger one, but is still no weapon. I still reckon they represent decent value for that kinda money. Chinese crap is the only opposition, and at least the Navara has a resale value. And yes Harry, I had a couple of mates with 3l GU Patrols, my word they were awful. One was a real problem child, we called it "The Kettle" as it was always a steaming overheating mess, even while under warranty.
