  1. See you there, and drive/tow safely!
  2. EDIT that. Unfortunately we now seem to have a lot less tyres that are actually worthy of bolting onto the car, so now I must actually conserve tyres. The four that are on it are "ok" I've been told. The four that were to be spares are one the canvas. Doh.
  3. Especially when we have 4 spare Tyres in the tray How'd the case split?
  4. Excellent! See you there!
  5. Whens everyone getting up to High Country? I expect to be up there mid afternoon Thursday. Am driving the Zero car, and rather than a renter we were offered Barry's VE ute. Looking forward to painting some lines Thanks to Capt Fathom for all his help too The car has actually got a developement KW spring and shock setup in it, and I sent some bars down for it this week. We'll have some fun while tuning it in for Barry's next event. For anyone I've not met from the board, come say hi! Your shout!
  6. Best of luck with it. I've never been down, but I used to really enjoy reading about the eclectic mix of cars that attended. Very exciting if it's wet to I understand!
  7. Great news, congrats to Disco Dan being retained!
  8. Good luck with it Rich, I'm sure it'll be fine. Good specs, I'd not considered one as an option. All your research paid off
  9. Mate that really is a shame. Look after that wrist first! I grew up at Samford. Very fond memories Might as well keep the car for a year, I assume you've deferred your entry payment, and it's hardly a seller's market right now. I can exercise the cars for you.... No charge!
  10. Fathom said his was a water pump failure. Apparently ALL of them required replacement, but VAG gambled. Rather than issueing a recall that was unmanagable, they elected to instead replace the pumps when the vehicles were seen for service. Fathom's was one that failed prior to be replaced. So, given that was a couple of years ago, one would assume all the pumps have been done by now.
  11. ha. Good question. Fathom is phoning in a mini re the ute suspension that we're trying to sort for me to tune in while "Zero-ing" next week. I'll ask him who was driving it. Him, or Bourkey, the rapist.
  12. I never said they're shit you cranky sheet carnt. I've towed using Q7 (R34 GTR) and Toureg (R32 and R34 GTR's), both V6 TDi, and I reckon they're a bloody fantastic tow machine! However, the fact remains they scare the beejesus out of me post-warranty.
  13. I dare say that's something to do with it Timmay. I also recall Capt Fathom's Q7 engine (3.0l TDi) exploding spectacularly while towing his car to Lonnie from Devonport..... still under warranty thankfully.
  14. I'd like to know how/why, considering that under the skin they're effectively the same vehicle.
  15. Brizzz won't have that ear-shoe with his Valiant.
  16. She'll be fine mate, she has the runs on the board Are you going to rape and pillage (aka "drive") the poor thing at Lake Mountain? See you at THC..... Timmy K said it's his shout!
  17. Mate, I really hope you can make it. Sing out if you need a hand (excuse the pun). Why sell the car? Surely there's many reasons to keep it!?!?
  18. Hmmm, must have missed an "o"... Tugga High Country!
  19. Paul Poolheaters has ruined his hand the poor bugger. Word is it was a self defence would obtained when he told the little lady he was taking her car to Tugga High flamin mongrelry.
  20. ^^^^ I know. I once towed a 23' Sharkcat on a tri-axle trailer (no brakes whatesoever) witha AE86 twin cam Corolla Seca. That proves that anything CAN be done, if you're careful enough (yes, I'm still breathing!), but, in today's litegeous society, you might not get away with the same level of bravado. Truthfully, why some of you even bother wasting precious typing with "can I" type question is a total loss to me...... do what you want. Darwin will sort it
  21. Ok. Daywalker.
  22. Back in the days of the Sahara Forrest towing a 32' boat with a Valiant may have been more acceptable. But so were flares and wicked side burns. Upon refelction.... yeah, do it! Flares and side burns are cool, 'specially ginger side burns....
