Hobbies - What You Do When Your Not At Work
RS4-S replied to nerm's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I NO NAHSING!!! the type3 rear suspension (if its an IRD model and not swing axle) is more beefed up from the beetle too, there 2 rear spring plates (trailing arms) instead of one so there less camber change though its range of motion. also the drum brakes are bigger -

yeh very handy. i got a 72 fastback too, thats locked away in my dads mates garage til i got a garage build (8 months ago hahahHAHAHA jokes on him). most fastbacks are dual carby and its rare to see a bosch fuel injection system still installed and running. use the type3 trans too they are abit stronger than a beetle one and have better ratios. might be worth using the pancake engine with dual carbs so if you snap a fan belt you dont cook the engine basically bigg headers, big exhaust and the right amount of advance is the best increase without massive coin. on my old beetle i very lightly ported and cleaned up the intake port and then the same with the exhuast ports but polished the hell outta it to near mirror finish and the rest was bog stock apart from a 009 dizzy and a good tune and she flew! -

with the AA battery test the speakers will make a big BRRRRRZZZZ, as said before like white noise but very loud and scared the shit outta me the first time haha. also, i have had issues with RCA's shitting themselves in the past and swapping things around like head decks and speakers with no result so its one to look out for. also anything problem ive seen, a mate took it apon themself to fit his own stereo and said he wired it all right and the track said it was playing but there was no sound. so i pulled the head eck out and the remote wire from the deck to the amp wasnt connected so check the isnt a break in the wire as it is the smallest wire going to the amp

i bought K-sport Kontrol pro coilovers for a mate of an ebay store in the USA. cost AUD$1180 inc shipping to my house, for example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KSPORT-COILOVERS-SPRINGS-99-02-00-01-NISSAN-SKYLINE-R34-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5629bdd74bQQitemZ370067494731QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo if you scroll down it says $210 shipping to australia which equals $1054 total! and thats for 1 set. has he contacted k-sport australia or a distributer? he should haggle them down more haha

Hey all, saw some some people sayin hey this is me so thought id do something about it Im Taylor, live in the dirty south (bought a house in kambah 18months ago), own too many cars (99 RS4S stagea, 82 datsun 720 kingcab, 68 vw squareback, 71 vw fastback, 94 ED XR6 clone), used to own a modified 07 xtrail st-sX (full stainless exhuast, stainless ceramic headers, CAI with filter in the front bar, strut braces, custom 65mm KMAC lowered springs, angled manifold spacer, 18" murano alloys) but sold it for the stagea. im a qualified mechanic/rego inspector/wheel aligner, did my time on nissans and VWs, still working on VW's and shitbox holdens in belco. if anyone needs a hand with anything mechnical just ask me, even if your 80% though doing something yourself and get stuck im always willing to help (unless you live in gunners in which case you'll owe me a tank of petrol to drive to deep south sydney hahaha). also sold wheels and tyres for 2 years so if you have a question about tyres or wheels or offsets or rego then shoot me a PM. So the ride is a 1999 Black Nissan Stagea RSfour S, for those who dont know RB25DET NEO powered 1700kg Manual wagon with R33GTR driveline, altessa and hicas etc. it has twin sunroofs, factory tinted rear safety glass, factory xenon HID headlights, R34GTT style interior, self closing rear hatch, climate control. i bought this thing locally bone stock, the only mod is a greddy full auto timer. so far have bought complete R34GTT calipers and slotted discs (factory brakes are kinda shitty 2 spot floating fronts with 296mm rotor where as R34GTT are 4spot fixed caliper with 310mm rotor) and HSD coilovers (according to the box 5/5 spring rates but worked out at 7.7/6.2 on a spring rate calculator), im yet to fit either of these due to our baby is on the way in the next week or 2 and knowing my luck il pull the brakes apart and il need to drive to the hospital haha. bought a headlight restoration kit on spesh from repco yesterday for $33 because the headlight lenses are cloudlyas . the end oh yeh and...

-
that was the gf driving our stagea, she said "i saw a silver stagea today but i think it was an early one cos it was different to ours, i waved but didnt race him cos i didnt know if i would get beaten. then he took off real quick" HAHAHAHAHA

lennock motors nissan parts would have them, i think they are pretty generic, give them the VIN over the phone and they should be able to to tell you if they got some. i got some genuine nissan studs in my tool box but can remember what they were left overs from. possibly CA18 manifold studs
