  1. They are 12 years old and perishing rubber. its changes from metal fitting to rubber line that many times its ridiculous.
  2. scratch that, found a stagea part number. very interested. where about in canberra are you?
  3. according to their webpage they dont do a kit for the stagea. so they are just R33GTR ones? interested and in canberra
  4. spotted a white C34 S2 RS4S with a black front bar near belco on friday morning
  5. RS4 (auto) has wider rear track and bottom of the rear shock has an eyelet. RS4-S and 260RS have the same suspension as an R33GTR (physically same, apart from the shock valving is to suit a much heavy car so i would say they have different rate springs also) and the rear shocks have a fork at the bottom.
  6. when you turn the key to start the car the fuel pump gets a few secs of power to "prime" the fuel system ( you can hear a relay click when the pump shuts off). i dont think it will keep adding fuel til 'X' pressure is reached. most electronic fuel injected cars will need a signal from the ecu to say the car is running/cranking and allow the fuel pump to run constantly
  7. dark green s1 c34, maybe RS-V? no spoiler and had BBS mesh wheels. spotted at canberra hospital tonight
  8. sorry i ment the pump keeps running after its stalled cos its still on acc power. at a place i used work a fella had a vl wagon turbo and it had a fuel cell and surge tank and external 044's etc but for whatever reason whoever did the pump install, the pumps would run all the time on acc power so he had to crank it almost immediately and when it stalled it would keep pumping fuel so he'd have to kill the turbo timer quickly because it would feed too much fuel too the rail and the fuel reg would struggle and it would over pressurise the fuel system (apparently). just saying cos im sure theres afew cars out there that people have home job wired heavy gauge wiring to the fuel pump for full battery voltage and could still pump fuel after stalling? sorry for off topic
  9. silver R33GTR near belco
  10. RS4 is the all wheel drive model. the RS4 autos and manuals have different style rear shock too...... should have a read though the thread first.
  11. my timer shuts off if you touch anything like handbrake etc, have seen some you stall and they run ACC power after its stalled. should be fine as long as both are under the tyre rule and you cant increase your track by more than 26mm (measure from centre line of tread to centre line of tread and check it against factory specs) so if you have a 17x8 20+ offset wheel standard and go to a 18x10 20+ offset, technically your track hasnt changed.
  12. turbo timer = fueling a fire if you roll your car cos the fuel pump will keep going. dont get me wrong i have a greddy full auto timer but id have to try pretty hard to flip a 1650kg awd stagea (either though is ridicualously high atm)
  13. yeh boost controller is mainly emissions etc id say. people say only 2 inches bigger than stock which is a crock o sh1t. from the largest tyre option on the tyre placard (overall diameter, not always biggest rim option) you can go UP 15mm in overall diameter and DOWN 26mm in OD (use an online tyre calculator and enter all the sizes listed on your tyre placard and then the size you wish to change too). if you meet that your all good as along as you load rating is met also. most tyre placards will say eg: "tyres fitted to this vehicle must have a load rating equal to and no lesser than 95 and a speed rating of no lesser than V". so aslong as you can get a tyre thats within the OD rules and meets the load rating your all sweet. im pretty sure you can drop a speed rating and its ok too, mainly used for driving on the autobarn etc. eg, falcon/commodore sizes 205/65R15 - 647mm OD 235/45R17 - 643mm OD 235/40R18 - 645mm OD 245/35R19 - 654mm OD 245/30R20 - 655mm OD so if your car had 15"s and 17"z were an option, the 15 still has a larger diameter to work from. so legally you can have a 20" rim and only be 8mm over standard which is inside the 15mm up rule. BUT legal ONLY IF the tyre has a load rating (eg 91) that meets or exceeds the cars requirement http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit - tyre calculator have a go. you will have to search google for desired tyre sizes to find the loadrating.
  14. trust me, im a rego inspector haha
  15. dickson doesnt have a problem with front mounts as long as they are securely mounted (not cable ties) and your front bar isnt completely cut out at the because then the bottom of the front mount can be see as a sharp protruding object. aftermarket bovs are fine as long as they are 100% plumb back and non adjustable (50% plumb, 50% atmos etc). Pod filters are fine as long as they a securely mounted and have a heat shield or enclosure (or plumbed down into the wheel arch etc). they dont like boost controllers and if you have a turbo timer turn it off and tuck it out of sight under the dash or something. my 2 cents, cheers
  16. its was either dark grey or dark blue. was on dusk. fella driving had a white hat on.
  17. coulda been me, i was around erindale and calwell friday waved to a 32 about 2 hours ago round the corner from me in kambah and the bloke ignored it
  18. 41 psi on 235/40R18. was running 36psi and it cornered like shit with abit of understeer. much less understeer and 'IM ON A BOAT' feel. as for nitrogen. 1- much less moisture in your rims/tyres. 2 - psi doesnt get higher with tyre temp (more stable pressure). 3 - pure nitrogen is more dense than compressed air, so less frequent pressure top ups at the servo. (perfect for trailer tyres)
  19. spotted a blue S15 cabrio with what sounded like the droney combination of SR20DE, cannon and auto trans
  20. ^^ thats a very general statement. C34 stagea? series 1 or 2? RS4? RS? RS4S? all of them vary alot as do the suspension componants that fit them.
  21. that part says it suits R34GTT and R33 GTS-T soo yeh fitment seems pretty generic. $149 without postage? thats murder! have a look at this DYI thread at a 1/3 of the cost. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/208224-making-a-professional-heatsheildpod-coverair-box-at-cost/
  22. Free bump for a mate, this thing has hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars put into it. If i had the coin and the time id add it to my list of projects
  23. Red series1 C34 at pedders suspension in belco. gave a beep
  24. cheers mate, i guess the GTR/AWD thing makes sense. il have to contact those in the know.
