  2. Hi guys, My GTS-t arrived with some Tein shocks that are extremely stiff and I was hoping to be able to soften them up alittle. I have taken a few pics of the top of the shock where there appears to be a bolt with a locking nut that can be adjusted. Im not sure exactly what this bolt does. Can anyone tell me if this bolt will adjust the dampening of the shocks or is it for something else. Pic1 Pic2 Cheers, Justin

Hi Guys, Went in to my local Auto Barn shop and ask for a device to allow me to pick up 90+ Mhz range of radio station and they gave me this: Aerpro FM Antenna Booster - AP342 On the back it says: Amplified FM Antenna Booster in or under dash mouting. Power Frequency gain 88Mhz > 10.5dB, 98Mhz > 10.9dB, 108Mhz > 9.5dB. Can anyone (Chris Rogers??) confirm that this will allow the standard R33 radio to pick up aussie stations? I guess from reading this thread that I will need the antenna convertor too?? Thanks, Justin.

  5. Hi Guys, Just doing a bit of fine tuning of my car and wanted to know what other people's map values are. I only need a few. The ones I am interesed in if anyone has a laptop or HC hooked up to their Microtech are: Idle Map: 25", 20" & 15" Hg Load Map: 20", 15", 10" & 5" Hg Main Timing map: Idle & max timing? And also what is the max timing that your car has at full boost? Thanks guys, Justin.
  6. Nah - Not that I know of. Thats why I am excited about the Ultimate. Its the first 98 RON fuel we've had up here. Its gotta be better than Premium!
  7. Hi Guys, Just thought I would let you all know that a few BP's around the town have Ultimate (98 octane) for sale. Dont' know if its a trial or its here for good but if we support these places by buying our fuel there then hopefully we can have it for good. Cheers, Justin.
  8. Thanks for that. I just went and tested mine and I can hear the solenoid activating or clicking quite clearly. So I suppose that rules out it being the solenoid even if the resistance is a little high. I think it needs to go back on the dyno and to see if there is an audible clicking going on. If there is, then it must be a oil supply problem, if there isn't then it must be a ECU/wiring problem. I doubt whether its an oil supply problem, as I have t'ed a hose into where the oil pressure sender unit is, to feed the VCT and my gauge is reading that I have normal oil pressure. So the other hose leading to the VCT should also be seeing that same pressure.
  9. I did that and there is continuity but it reads 117 ohms resistance across the terminals? Is this normal?? Does the manual say anything?? If anyone has an RB25 with VCT and a multimeter, can they check theirs for me? Thanks guys.
  10. Does it normally operate in Nuetral gear?? Could I free-rev the engine with the bonnet up and hear it? I take it its quite an audible 'click'. So with the bonnet up on the dyno you should hearing it clearly?
  11. Just to clarify. The VCT is "ON" or "activated" in the low rev range and then "OFF" in higher rev range???? So if we test the voltage at the solenoid at low revs it should measure greater than zero ?? and then in the higher revs it should be zero?? Just trying to get an idea of what is supposed to be happening so we can do some tests.
  12. From what I have read, The solenoid is supposed to be activated from ~1000rpm to ~5000rpm at which point it deactivates or turns off. Is this right?
  13. Yes the oil feed on the bottom of the head was blocked off and we tapped into the front of the head. This draws oil from a t-piece in the oil pressure sender line. I have oil pressure, So i assume that the oil feed is also getting pressure.
  14. Still doesn't work guys. The mechanic says the computer is switching the solinoid type thingy on the head ok but nothing seems to be happening internally. Does anyone know what might be happening. The head was only reassemble a short time ago, could something have gone wrong? Does anyone have a manual they can look up to see it says anything?
  15. maximajim, That book doesn't tell you how to troubleshoot VCT does it?? Mine doesn't seem to be working. The mechanic says the computer is switching the solinoid but nothing seems to be happening. The head has been removed and everything pulled apart, but now its back together it doesn't work. Can you see if it says anything in the manual. Thanks
  16. OK. Will do. Does anyone know exactly how it is activated?? There is a 'device' on the side of the head but what exactly does it do and is there a way to test it?
  17. HI guys, I have put together an RB25/30 combo with a Microtech LT8. What I want to know is how do you tell if the VCT is working or not? It has been programmed to come 'on' at a certain rpm but how do you really tell if it doing anything? Thanks Justin.
  18. Any chance you'll take $100 for them. I am looking for a cheap set to get me by until I get some bigger ones down the track. If anyone has a good set they are wanting to let go cheap let me know.
