Next cruise I go on with you guys, I am NOT, repeat NOT getting out of the car!!!!!!!!!!:eek1:
-
Best drive I ever had. Left Nowra early one morning, came back to Sydney via Kangaroo Valley. 1st was the hillclimb out of Nowra. Turbo's love hills!! Hairpin after hairpin until you get to the top and then it's the decent, this is where you appreciate the superior brakes your car has, scenic Kangaroo Valley to get some culture as you crawl along at 50, then back into it again and come back via rear of Bowral on country roads. Finally the freeway to Sydney if your game to risk it. Big drive but that's what I like!!!

I have a dent from 4WD door on driver's door, wrecks me every time I see it, but loz man, what happened to you was willfull damage. After seeing it the other night I realised how destroyed I would have been had it been mine. Jealousy morphs to hatred in lesser life forms, the consequences of which you are unfortunately bearing at the moment which isn't fair. Would it be too expensive/impractical for you to get a run around car or do you think it may have all just been bad luck? Rhys.

The track is much better, has a more even surface so therefore much safer. Can't get thursdays off work so I'll miss the next track day but there'll be more I guess.
-
I need to get my launces down to a fine art, they were pretty messy. Oh and I'm starting to take donations for my, "Help Rhys beat Donnie fund." All contributions are tax deductable in the year 2048. This is when I will become the Prime Minister of Austalia and ban any car not producing over 100kw at the wheels! Rhys.
-
ahh, so that's what I did with seven hours of my life last night!
-
Had a blast! came home about 4 I think, didn't sleep, just played GT3 until it was time to go to work. That cruise ranks up there for me! DON91E, I think we have a funny home video on our hands? Oh yeah and the POPGUN will be back again to fight another day, win loose or draw. The train of headlights through Holsworthy was impressive and skylines three abreast down the Pacific Hwy on the way to the Nasho felt good to be apart of. You know you're having a good time when you look at the time, it's 3.30am, you have to be at work in 4 1/2 hours but your havin so much fun you just don't care. Thanks to all who came Rhys.
-
I know Orange Grove Macca's, but I won't know many of you there. I'm in a black R32, plates are POPGUN. Sounds like a good plan VISHES, keeps everyone happy, I'm not too fussed where I go as long as we get to cruise.
-
So higher speeds reduce the validity of a guage, at what point is the speedo telling you lies on a stock R32 GTSt?
-
When I get a GTR I'd love to get PHWOAR, probably gone by 2048!

Oil feed lines? Do I need new fittings/ banjos? Sizes if you have them on fittings and/or hose, I would be very appreciative. Rather than pull it all apart and then find out, reassemble then attempt again. Any info would be received with open arms. Rhys

Kangaroo valley rocks, love those hairpins before Nowra, hillclimb coming back, never a dull drive if there's no traffic. I'd love to go to Bundeena with you guys and I live in Bankstown not far from Cabra so it won't take me long to get there. I may be able to get an r31 coupe to come too.(if he can get off work) Maybe I missed it but was the meeting point cumberland macca's at 9pm? Could someone pm me to confirm? Or just post it. Thanks guys Rhys

I am also very interested in seeing if oil feeds and other anciliaries bolt back on without a hassle. So basically on an RB20 all you have to do is buy new gaskets and rotate the housing? Sounds too simple to be true. I have access to a VG30 item and I'm very interested to hear the how to and any problems anyone has encountered, before I roll my wallet out and my sleeves up. Waiting patiently Rhys p.s also safe boost level on VG30 snail with stock R32 apart from cat-back and bleed valve. thanks

On a cold night I had the needle just past the resettable odometer on my R32. I'd had the car not even a few weeks from Japan and it just had a cat-back fitted, however this did take quite a run up to achieve! The lines on the private road just looked like one big white one at speed. I slowed as soon as I saw tailights in front. Can do 180 in 4th before rear starts hopping, urging me to grab 5th. I have this thing, after I run someone or do a silly speed my right foot goes all jumpy and shakey and I have to either stop and walk on it or just mash it into the firewall to keep it still, any one else get this? Now you all know my darkest secret. Rhys.

I'm Rhys, 23, a spare parts interpreter and i am totally emphatuated with automobiles. My r32 gets washed more than me and I call it girlfriend number 2 and closing. Girlfriend number 1 does't like car much, it gets more spent on it than her. I love goin on criuses, love nasho runs (waterfall)NSW. LIke talking to intelligent people in the faint hope that I might learn something oneday and mmmm that's it. This is kinda like news was at primary school on a Monday morning eh? Loving yous all, everyone of singles yous Rhys.

Just use shock eye bushes to space the plate, the kind that press in from either side. They are rubber and won't damage your paint and when used in conjunction with longer bolts are a cost effective option. Get them from any good spare parts joint. Smiling politely Rhys.

If the brakes feel ok and you don't have to stomp on them hard to pull up the vehicle then the vacuum servo unit may not be defective/leaking. I just went out, started my r32 and pumped the pedal 3 times and the rev's dropped significantly but then returned to normal. Is there a reason you are depressing the pedal in succesion? I don't think there is anything wrong with your vehicle adam but if in doubt consult a professional mechanic. Hope this helped Rhys
-
I believe the brakes use manifold vacuum to operate the vacuum servo unit, this is the big round black thing behind your mastercylinder that helps you put pressure into it. Repeatedly pumping the brake pedal on a cold engine would be like pulling off a vacuum line and would stuff around with the engine management. RB engines that have an issue with "idle hunt" are usually first inspected for vacuum leaks. Do the revs drop when you pull the vehicle up to a stop while driving?

I run my stock 32 turbo on a 14.5 spike with it settling to 13.5 on full boost, I acknowledge that this is quite high but so far so good. With reguards to the twin bleed valve proposal, I though boost spike was to do with the intercooler reaching restriction point? Hence the fact that heat will expand and cold will contract the air density, you can pass more volume at a cooler temperature through any intercooler, this is why your boost increases in cold weather and why I will be decreasing my boost when it gets back to winter time to avoid the turbo huffing and puffing and blowing it's housings in. Hope I made sense? Rhys

I had quiktrak fitted and asked them if I could fit a t/timer. They said I would have to bring the car in to have it "calibrated" to suit the alarm. I rang Bogard turbo timers and they sold me one that fitted perfectly between two plugs in the ignition. It has never played up with the tracker and I have left the engine running while I turn on the alarm constantly since January. The steering locks if you try to turn the wheel with the timer on and I even turn on the car before work ends, set the timer to 5 minutes and come out to a warm engine with the alarm on for security. I'm not sure if it messes with any of the immobilisers but the alarm is fully functional as I have been rung by quicktrac on a few occasions.(false alarms) Hope this helped. Rhys

One rear trim was in the glovebox when the car arrived and the drivers one had come away slowly so I used some 3M pressure pack adhesive. The rear came off on the first hot day because I didn't use enough glue so I layered it on next time and it has survived heat ever since. I could not perfectly wrap each door pad because in production the material is heat shrunk onto the door making it stretch when off but this is only under closer inspection of edges etc oherwise looked ok. Can you get trimmer's glue in pressure pack cans?

68 days later and he finds the thread, the thread that was to be the most important he's posted on so far! Cant wait to join. Named T-shirts to help my goldfish memory and a sticker to see who's in. What colour/design on sticker? Can paint car to suit sticker if required. Just tell me where and when with the cash to join. So far I think I've counted 37 including myself, what a cruise? What a photo? Definitely puttin this one on email notification!

A friendly nod and smile at traffic lights:uh-huh: followed by a perve on what they're driving is where I'm at at the moment. Flashing lights and flailing arms at skyrods passing in the opposite direction I haven't progressed to yet, however if someone did it to me I'd do it back for sure.:wavey: Rhys
