  1. Gday, I've got an S15 spec r gt with the factory 6 cd changer (clarion i think) and as good as an in dash 6 stacker is...the factory unit blows chunks. I've heard a new head unit is the first thing most S15 spec r owners do but i'm personally quite a fan of the 'factory' look so am quite reluctant to install an aftermarket deck. But i've had to take it out twice now to un-jam it and am ready to put my fist through this clarion heap of shit. So...with a budget of $400, any recommendations on a decent single DIN head unit...? I've been out of the car audio product knowledge ring for a few years now but am quite a fan of anything Kenwood or Sony...but am open to suggestions. For now, i'm gonna stick with the factory speakers but down the track plan on some decent splits up front and just some new 6" two ways for rear fill. Cheers
  2. that was on my skyline, which ive sold...sorry mate
  3. Hi everyone, As the title suggest, i have for sale a STOCK ECU from an RB20DET powered 1992 Nissan Skyline GTST (R32). It's the black top motor so it's the 160kw version. I think the car was an M-spec if that makes a difference to anyone. I put an Apexi power FC in the car about 6 months after i bought it and have had this lying around since. And now that i've just sold the Skyline, i really have no need for it! $50 and it's yours. No stupid offers please. I'm happy to post Oz wide at buyers expense. Given the weight it'd probably be $15 - $20 to post, so that's your call. Otherwise, Sydney buyers, i'm at North Sydney but can meet somewhere on the north shore / northern beaches as a compromise. Give me a call on 0411 751 008 if interested, Cheers Matt

  8. bump - must sell this weekend, open to offers
  9. thanks everyone, k's are of course genuine and this is definitely an awesome buy for a well modified R32 GTST. DriftSquad is spot on, a turbo upgrade (+ injectors) was next on the list for me. But my new job isn't as flexible as my last one and I simply don't have the time to put into it anymore. This is an excellent starting point for a great track car and will be very sad to see it go. I do need to sell it ASAP so I welcome any enquiries. Cheers Matt
  10. PRICE DROP - $15,900...MUST SELL!!! Antone - yeah i thought that when I bought it...but it seriously looked like it had come straight off the showroom floor, whoever owned in Japan must not have driven it much...
  11. ****** PRICE DROP - MUST SELL!!!!******** Well, after a very happy 2 years together, my baby and I have decided to part ways. I'm very reluctantly selling her to make way for a much newer and more suitable (for me!) 200sx. I've owned this car as I said for 2 years, and am the only Australian owner. I purchased it in November 2003 from E & M Motors Five Dock, and i've got service history since I bought it. It has been serviced every 5000 - 6000 kms and the timing belt was changed at 100k. Here are the factory specs as standard: 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS-T (R32) 2.0L twin cam turbocharger w/intercooler (RB20 black top motor - 160kw as standard) Black in colour 5 speed manual Electric windows and mirrors Factory sunroof Climate control air conditioning Remote central locking with alarm and immobiliser 112000 kms (bought with 65000km on it) 12 mths rego Now below i've listed all modifications i've done to the car. I bought it in factory condition so everything done has been whilst i've owned it, so I know how it all runs and as it is right now, there are no little gremlins or problems...it drives beautifully! I've got receipts for most things but am happy to answer anything related to the mods...here goes: Intake: standard turbo 600x300x76 modyourcar.com Intercooler with custom plumbing Apexi twin chamber BOV HKS pod filter in FL guard Engine: Sard adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Walbro 550hp 250lph intank fuel pump 6 x NGK iridium spark plugs Exhaust: Catco 3" dump pipe Catco 3" straight through Cat 3" exhaust with X-Force cannon muffler, 5" tip Engine Management: Apexi Power FC, tuned and dynoed by UAS (no hand controller) Greddy Profec B 2 Electronic Boost Controller Wheels and Tyres: F - 17" x 8" Simmons 'Alta' wheels with Federal S595 235/45zr17 tyres (2 years old) R - 17" x 9" Simmons 'Alta wheels with Federal S595 255/40zr17 tyres (6 months old) Brakes: DBA 4000 rotors F & R with SBS competition pads Suspension: King Springs "low" Pedders GT shocks Interior: Momo steering wheel and gear knob Autometer boost guage Sony CD player I'm happy to discuss where all the mods were done but the final tuning and dyno runs were done at Unique Auto Sports. On 1.0 bar boost, she made 166.3 rwkw - this may seem low considering what mods have been done, but i've only used the one dyno and although i've never run it down WSID, it should be capable of mid 12's. I originally paid $21k for her and have spent another $12k at least. I'm open to offers around $16,500 but am willing to negotiate. This really is a top car, quick, smooth and it sounds awesome too. As I said, I need to make way for my new car so I do need to sell it fairly quickly. Please call me anytime on 0411 751 008 if you're interested. Of course no tyre kickers and joy riders, serious buyers only please. Nice one Matt

  14. no matter what way you go, you'll get turbo lag...thats the way RB20's are with big front mounts thanks to the plenum chamber going across the top of the engine i've got a tube fin cooler from modyourcar.com (600x300x76) - it cost me $400 and then got a mate to fit it for me. And that's your biggest cost, the plumbing is a big job and if you don't know a mate than can, or if you can do it yourself, it will get costly if you go through a workshop. The upside is of course the performance and cooling benefits, but also, with the factory cooler out, it makes a nice little cold air box in the space left behind! (see pic) Couldn't tell you too much about performance differences but don't get too hung up on what type of cooler to choose, for the performance gains you'll get, save the cash for other stuff (ie injectors, fuel pump, FPR, power fc etc etc)
  15. likewise...got an X-force (but on my r32) and i can't believe how different the note, loudness and deepness is. I'd gone from a 2 1/2 inch cat back with an old 5-zigen muffler to a full turbo back 3" system with catco dump pipe & cat and an X-force muffler - it sounds f$*ken sensational, especially when you get on the gas (which is a lot!). Although i think mine is almost too loud, i haven't been pulled over by the cops yet (touching wood!)...
  16. Gday, i've got a fairly well modified r32 gtst and when backing off the throttle when boost is between 0 - 5 psi, instead of the usual "pppsssschhhh" noise, i get the pidgeon flutter. Now a mate of mine told me the other day he reckons its bad for the wastegate. He says that my BOV is adjusted way too tight and air is escaping through the wastegate (and making the flutter noise) instead of the BOV. Firstly, where does the pidgeon flutter noise come from? The BOV, the wastegate or the turbo compressor wheel? Secondly, is my mate right and that this is actually bad for my car? I'm no show-pony and not into modifying my car for noises etc so i want whatever is best for my cars performance. Any advice appreciated...
  17. hahaha sorry bout dat!!! i mustve been still asleep or something that morning...i normally give at least a nod to a fellow skyliner...sorry  i really mustve had an off morning actually cos i my fav part of the drive to work is turning down Berry St to see how many ppl i can scare the shit out of wit my BOV as i floor it just before i turn into my carpark!!! yeah i work in north sydney and i've seen your '33 around a bit too...nice ride
