Ok, Heres my problem.
Today (Boxing Day) I started my car and took off fairly hard bringing first gear up to about 6000, I then proceeded to change to 2nd hoping for that nice wheel spin can be achieved from this. Alas I was not greeted with wheel spin but a great loss of power like bad turbo lag instead.
Now to my problem, ever since this every time I get the revs to 3000 in any gear from 2nd up, the revs suddenly jump to 4500 and then back to 3000.
There is no jolt when this happens, just an over revving laggy engine.
Also there is now a slight ticking noise coming from under the left hand side of the bonnet when the car is idling.
I am thinking that it could possibly be a blown turbo gasket? But it has all happened so suddenly after me being stupid and not allowing my car to warm up correctly.
Could this be the cause, What are everyones thoughts?
BTW my car is stock except a 3in cat back.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to the world of turbo cars, and my mechanical knowledge of cars in general isn't exactly in depth, so go easy on a newby
