  1. Thanks guys, taking it to around the local smash repair joints tomorrow and seeing who can give me the best quote. I will post my quotes for anyone interested.
  2. Has anyone had dents removed from their car. I managed to rip my front bar off while reversing out of my drive way today, it got caught on a small piece of wood in the ground and bang! off it came. Getting that back on was the easy part. My problem is that I got the shits and punched the front right quarter panel (not hard) but it still left a small dent the size of my fist. Has anyone used people like Mr Dent to remove dents? If so, how much did it cost? Thanks in advance.
  3. just ignore that last message, read the whole post
  4. Do you have the ashtray at all? I broke mine today. Give you $20 for it plus postage to sydney. cheers
  5. thanks for all the replies everybody (and for the definition of laggy). Sorry for the late reply computer problems, it never ends! As it turns out the clutch was the problem, took it to autosport and they had it diagnosed about 2 seconds after getting into the car. Anyway, it is now replaced with a heavy duty item and is going better than when I first bought it. It is even creating up to 10 psi boost (only could get 7 before new clutch). So in summary thanks for the help, and these forums have now become my official home away from home. Such a wealth of valuable information! cheers
  6. Thanks for the pic and info that should really help me diagnose the problem. I will have a look at it today and nopefully be able to sort this out. Just out of interest how much did it cost you to have it repaired? cheers
  7. Thanks mate. What exactly am i looking for with a blown gasket. As I said I am a complete newby to the world of turbos, but I am doing my best to learn about them. I know where the turbo is located but what exactly would the blown gasket look like? Any help is greatly appreciated, as none of the mechanics in my area that I would trust to work on my car are open due to the holidays. Thanks in advance.
  8. Ok, Heres my problem. Today (Boxing Day) I started my car and took off fairly hard bringing first gear up to about 6000, I then proceeded to change to 2nd hoping for that nice wheel spin can be achieved from this. Alas I was not greeted with wheel spin but a great loss of power like bad turbo lag instead. Now to my problem, ever since this every time I get the revs to 3000 in any gear from 2nd up, the revs suddenly jump to 4500 and then back to 3000. There is no jolt when this happens, just an over revving laggy engine. Also there is now a slight ticking noise coming from under the left hand side of the bonnet when the car is idling. I am thinking that it could possibly be a blown turbo gasket? But it has all happened so suddenly after me being stupid and not allowing my car to warm up correctly. Could this be the cause, What are everyones thoughts? BTW my car is stock except a 3in cat back. Any help is greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to the world of turbo cars, and my mechanical knowledge of cars in general isn't exactly in depth, so go easy on a newby
