They're very nice wheels, if they were 18s I'd snap them up! Good luck with the sale!

wicked ad, no pics, no details, no price, not going to check his own ad. Josh please....

I've got a 2003 D22 ZD30 Navara, just ticked of 330,000 kays, original motor and gearbox, living the dream, either tows the race car or a horse float most weekends. Mate of mine has a 2011 D22 YD25 Navara, his drives a lot nicer than mine, but I was putting that down to my old clapped out suspension I think mine is better at hill starts with a trailer on, his is quicker though, even with the 33" mudders on it.

yeah they make cams for neo heads too. Neo head + Cams + shimless buckets will still be heeeeeeaps cheaper than a 26 head + cams + VCT mods
-
Yeah I've been lead to believe that brads new motor has a neo head. And shimless buckets. There is no doubt a 26 can have vct, but I'm not interested in doing the required modifications when just slapping on a neo head is a Shit tonne easier. Also neo heads have a smaller combustion chamber which will give me my desired compression ratio with my current pistons. Plus they're cheaper.

You love it in red!

Yeah I need them VCTs and Solid Lifters.

Hey yeah, I got all my bits OK A bit delayed because of bushfires, but they're all good thanks! RB25 to go in the 33 is good to go now, putting that in on Monday. RB25\30, progress is good, gotta save up for the machine shop work, then just re assemble it with some new bearings and new rings. RB30e got yanked out Monday night, it got dark before I could rip the sump off and change the oil pump gasket and sump gasket. I might do that on Thursday afternoon. Mega Super ultra powerful monster RB25 is still in the research and development phase at the moment, but I'm thinking. JE pistons with ceramic tops and teflon skirts, Nitto rods, balanced crank, nitto collar, ACL bearings, 12mm head studs, Bore and Deck block to suit, Grout filled block, all them oil control mods, Aiming for around 9.8:1 Static CR, still not decided on that really, NEO head some crazy cams and springs, yet to be decided. Not sure what turbo either, Looking for around 450kw though running on E85 I'm really undecided about the whole mega RB25, Lots of people say different things about what's needed for big power, like RIPS motors are like, near stock and good for like 500hp, and their built ones are insanely powerful. Put you look at everyone in the 400kw club here on SAU and they've got lots of mods. First TSS round is in Mid March, I might go out to a drift practice day to shake the car down though, or maybe sprints, depends on how I go for time and what's on when I suppose.

I know a guy selling a skyline. I gave him your details
-
hahaha, you're not the first person to say that
-
So I'm totally gay for this R33. Does anyone know what rear over fenders these are?
-
You'll have to let me know how they go! I'm looking for some tyres for TSS still. Loving the Dunlop but they wear out mighty quick

I'm working down here at the Historic Site and I've been helping the SES little too. Situation is starting to look up really. Roads are in such a condition that we can have escorted convoys to get the tourists out in their own vehicles and supplies in on trucks. We've had a few boats come in and deliver supplies which has been really helpful, things would be a lot worse if it wasn't for those guys. Sea's aren't very nice at the moment so this has stopped, but the trucks are still coming in. Power is off and will be for another week or so I reckon. No big deal for me personally though, I'm pretty well setup, got a petrol powered pump and I can charge my phone in my car. Got lots of supplies here at the SES and a pretty good amount of man power. If you want to help, cash donations to the salvos or Red cross is the easiest and best way to do it. And another really good way to help is to plan your next holiday down here for next summer and drop heaps of cash back into the local businesses, while they can write a lot of the losses off on insurance, it's still hurting them a lot. Speaking of hurt, one of the local supermarket owners was just blatantly ripping off the locals, charging like $5 for a paper and $60 for a pack of smokes, triple price on fruit and veg, shit like that, someone went down and touched him up last night though, needless to say; prices are now back to RRP. Thats about it from down here really!

yeah I've still got my stock exhaust manifold and a small collection of turbo lines. So I should be right. I'll keep it in mind though I was also eyeing off that GT3540 for sale in the other thread, will that fit in stock low mount position?
-
My motorsport tyre supplier can't get these hankook ones I don't know who can either sorry!
-
There is actually a high flowed 34 turbo here.... Hmmmm.
-
No hot side atm. I kind of want to build a 25/30 just for the fun of it really
-
They're domed in the middle, and dished with the valve relief is. I'm trying to do as much as I can in this engine build, so next time when I hand over my hard earned cash I can fully appreciate the value of the work being done.
-
I reckon this'll be why machining 0.8mm off the head might be a bad idea. You'll be chopping out this oil tear drop part. which could mess up flow of oil to the head.
-
Yeah this first one will go in the VL, assuming it's a raging success I might build another one for the 33 I might take you up on that offer for extra assistance. Let me know what bits you've got, I might require them. The bores are pretty healthy, they've got some marks where the pistons were sitting stationary for 5 years though, and that comes out rather that eating in, so I'm assuming that can be honed out, the marks came off the piston skirts with a good rub. I've got to drop some stuff off to Rogers on Wednesday so I'll spin a yarn and see what he reckons. You're right about the cc part too, f**k knows what was wrong with my maths When I did the head CCs I didn't have any grease or plastic so I just made sure it was perfectly flat and ran a ring of detergent around the lip of the combustion chamber to eliminate the meniscus. Measuring the Piston dome trolled me a little, it took a while to figure it out, it's got a little dome and a little valve relief. I could measure the relief quite easily but to measure the dish; I made some play dough and pressed the piston into it and measured the dome like it, it wasn't the most accurate way to do it but it's all I could think of By my awesome calculations, the valve relief pretty much cancels out the dome. Both 3.9cc I'll be sure to clean up the valve seats and try it again later It wasn't quite a tsunami, but it wasn't pretty...

yeah it's gone now How'd you go fixing yours Matthew?

Extended shopping list: Oil pump Water Pump Full length crank collar Oil restrictors New bearings New head bolts\studs New head gaskets. Bottom timing belt gear. Harmonic balancer If anyone has this stuff lying around, let me know! I'm also after a turbo, not decided on what I want to do yet though
-
Pics RB30 goodness Proof of concept Measuring combustion chamber and valve leak testing. After about 1 hour this is what they all looked like This piston is the only one I'm worried about, opinions? Spark plug ceramic trolled it.

That's right, that's happening! I'm doing a much of the work as I can too. I got the RB30 block from my old VL commodore after I cooked the head in good old VL commodore fashion. I've just finished tearing down the short motor and everything is pretty much bang on with factory tolerances which is awesome. The deck needs a machine as it's slightly high in between two of the cylinders. The head I've got is coming off my the RB25 that was in my 33 until I cooked it. it's a little melted in cylinder #1 as you might have seen in my other thread, it's also not perfectly straight, but I was thinking if I take about 0.8mm off the head it'll remove all the melted crusty shit and increase my compression ratio too. As 25\30 combinations with stock RB30 short motor and stock R33 25 VCT head will yeild about 8.2:1 Compression Ratio, saving the head that much will reduce the Combustion chamber volume by about 7cc which will increase the compression ratio up to around 9:1. I'm not sure if I want to do that yet though, with the doughy compression ratio and a safe tune I'll be able to use the shitty fuel, down on the peninsula and other Rural areas that I frequent, safely. I just measured my head and it was 61cc. While I was measuring it I left the water in there for an hour and found all the valves leak a little, some more than others, but they'll all need some love. I plan to do the internal VCT mod as outlined in this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/251669-rb2530-rb30det-vvt-internal-oil-control/ Page 5 'The mafia' comments with some pics that breaks down the process really well. Looks easy enough After reading the 25\30 thread in the forced induction section, it all looks too easy... (famous last words) The only thing on the shopping list is an oil pump, I'm thinking stock RB25 until should do the job? If anyone has one lying around after an upgrade, let me know! I think I'm almost at the stage where I can send stuff off to get machined! It's looking good so far
