i have a DR30. yeh the diagrams on FJ20.com are the 2 that are no good. its a 2 page diagram of the ECU wiring. i need the full wiring diagram with fuel pump etc on it.

well i installed the Malpassi Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator today and ran into several problems and now my car is ****ed atm. i fitted the FPR and at first it was fluctuating heaps the pressure on idle. a few hoses were loose so we tightened those. took it for a spin and it had huge misfire again. found out it had one of the things on the plenum d/c one of them things that help it idle some air pressure thing or something ithink? not sure. but anyway i reconnected that and it idled a bit better went for a spin still huge misfire. then on way back into my street smelt electrical burning smell. got into driveway could still smell it. anyway turned car off, properly hooked up that 2nd valve that was d/c, secured the FPR a bit better, turned it's pressure down coz i guess my injectors are dirty/****ed. went to turn the car on and theres no power going to the fuel pump. i know this coz its not 'buzzing' so its not priming. car tries to turn over but no fuel. immobiliser looks fine, all the fuses in the box in the top left of the engine bay look fine, but car no go sooooo i need an FJ20 Wiring Diagram. does anyone have one? i found the normal 2 pages that float round every website in Oz and theyre no good i want proper full wiring diagram. so i can try and trace the wiring etc to the fuel pump and to the ECU etc. really need it to narrow this down and try and find the problem. seems like its a burnt out wire somewhere i guess. if anyone has proper wiring diagrams that'd be great. cheers

take oil filler cap off......STALL???
[ant] replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mate i had a similar thing. i had an S13 silvia SR20 and it used to hunt abit and then sort itself out and idle a bit rougher with the oil cap off. but now i got my R30 skyline with an FJ20 u take the cap off and it hunts then conks out. i thought it was ****ed too but nah its normal hehe -
that Fantasy Performance workshop owner guy goes on the FJ20.com forums as of a month or two ago, really helpful, seems very knowledgable about all FJ stuff. just reminded me the mention of fantasy making that guys ex manifold. =)

i didnt even know you could get PowerFC for DR's haha Thinking of getting a Malpassi Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator for my car tomorow, coz apparently its not good running like 14-15psi of boost with the stock computer coz it goes too lean up around 6k+rpm so i think it may be worthwhile getting one to keep things safe til i can afford a microtech or the like. see how i go i guess !
-
ah fibreglass right. mine has a few chips touched up so it looks sorta metal but then yeh it does have a slightly different colour shade to the rest of the car so i guess that explains it =] mine rattles like all hell wen u tap on it and over bumps sometimes but i guess thats the metal sortof retaining thing inside of it making the racket !
-
what grille? im confused? haha u mean that small bit of metal beneath the edge of the bonnet with 2 rectangle holes in it? and how would u open that up nemore!? haha just need like a Jenesis style front spoiler with big opening on it
-
hm my cars a DR30 iron mask turbo but has no vent in the bottom left. just normal front .. i often think i wish it had some kind of hole for air to get up to the Pod filter .. i had an NA front spoiler on my S13 so i cut like a grille style thing into the bumper to let air to up there a bit... not too keen on doing that to the DR though! saw a couple of carbon fibre bonnets on Jap websites for DR30 iron mask ... thatd be damn cool ! costly though id imagine to buy a bonnet from jap and get it brought here i think i converted the cost at the time and it was like $850 to begin with before freight and tax and gst and watever else
-
oo sounds interesting! got my big cooler delivered today, now i just need about 400$ more to get it put in ! then a lil dyno run to see wats going on.
-
heh im in constant fear of damage to panels specialy the front good luck trackin bits down ur lucky probably more stuff floating round over east there than here in perth, lucky if we got about 5 DR's on the road !
-
hole in filter box still okay tho since at least it gets some cold air through the snorkel thing. my pod is the biggest K&N thing they have and it just sits there and doesnt really get cold air from anywhere but i dont know how to do a CAI on a DR30 there isnt much room to play with and not any hole in the spoiler to feed a pipe or something up to it

Wolf do the V4 Plug & Play ECU which is $1395 for the ECU itself then install and tuning take it to around $2200 ready to drive away. but then i think u have the cost of the multi coil setup added to that so it could get pretty expensive but todd off these forums with white dr30 here in perth is happy with his he is running Wolf V4 with multi coils and making 360 odd rwhp quite happily! i was hoping for a cheaper sortof alternative like microtech or something is all. wondering if anyone has gone that way. i only earn 200 a week doing nightfill so was hopin there mite be a cheaper one that'd do the trick! that EMS 8860 i guess is $1600 just for the ECU, then tuning install etc would run it out a few hundreed more expensive that the Wolf V4 p&p i guess. ah well i dont have 2k+ for an ECU atm neway, but i guess it seems Wolf V4 is gona be the way to go in the end :) better hope santa brings me a big wad of cash this year haha

wats the max power u can get from a stock turbo FJ? just curious. and also wat management systems are you guys running? do u have seperate coils rather than sticking with dizzy n shit? (on FJ20s if ne1 has em!)
-
adam_rsx - mine is one peice rubber lip. it doesnt extend that far it basically is like, from a side on view, like this --> |/ if u get it .. haha like sortof triangular, thinish rubber that bolts underneath by heaps of screws and goes around the side a bit, about 1/3 of the way back towards the wheel arch from the front. haha hard to describe, but sounds more like the GTS-R thing to me? rubber lip, one peice, bolts on !
-
ah right cheers for clearin that up i dont know too much about 31s too be honest or even 30s lol just got mine and started reading up! yeah id say its the same as the one off the GTS-R coz its definately a fixed type. i think the HR31 models are GTS and GTX
-
well im assuming its off an R31 coz it looks like R31 type lips ive seen on pics of R31s about the internet! kinda like the one off GTS-R's n stuff. like the one that lowers itself as u speed up on 31s, except mine is just a rubber lip and is fixed in place with about 20 screws along the underside!! it came on the car. duno if it is 31 lip or properly meant for 30. looks similar to the 31 ones though. i cant attach a front pic of my car coz its too large
-
well i found this pic of 2 door RSX on the net a while ago. could be a winner? or my car is same colour scheme, iron mask, but has R31 front lip and watanabes n lowered susp if u wanted a similar but slightly modded one *shrug*
-
yeah thats a sweet idea. be great to get the cars done in that style like on that NissanSilvia.com shirt too, like airbrushed type drawing style. id be hell down for a tshirt like that. hehe

well, i had an S13, i didnt think the interior was that bad to be honest. the seats are a bit crap looking but i found them okay to sit in and not that bad really. ive been in a 32 and really theres not all that much in it, especialy if u change to sports steering wheel and maybe to a bucket seat. i prefer the look of a 32 myself over s13, but then again as long as your tasteful an s13 can look just as good really. just it usualy needs a bit of a kit whereas a spoilerless dumped 32 looks great, nice and clean. my s13 mod for mod beat similar modded 32s due to the wieight advantage, and both can be made to handle well. 32s seem to have a bit more sort of prestige to them, where s13s r just thrash about kinda cars. id say just simply test drive each. and test drive ones in your price range though. for the money u have u could get an s13 with full exhaust, FMIC, boost controller, and maybe some otehr goodies, whereas ur 32 would be pretty stock (and thus a fair bit slower, until u fork out the extra say 3k or so to get it up to spec of the s13). and once uve spent that extra 3k u could have splashed out on a really good s13 which would be around 16/17. up to personal preference really i guess!

not a silhouette i meant like a line drawing type deal ... no detail just the main lines.

Exhaust back pressure - some things to consider
[ant] replied to Steve's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeah, the general knowledge is pretty much 3" pipe the whole way back with as little other restrictions such as cats in the way. i have an 83 car now so i can have just 3" all the way back and then muffler. i had stock dump and front pipe and stock old little cat in there, got the dump and front made 3' and the cat removed, picked up a bit more top end a bit of response, havent dynoed it after it though for any hard proof of difference. -
hm yeh the silhouette type deal is a prety good idea i reckon. but like a modified silhouette like low looking sorta thing ... ! though i would like a front on iron mask type silhouette like that pic, that would be cool ... maybe side on silhouette of 4 door or watever on the front, and then front on silhouette of iron mask (like that grey one in the photo) on the back with R30 under it? i have photo of my car like that, but also has extra lower lip spoiler on the front from R31s to make it a bit meaner too =)

ive seen that thing done to lights before in some pictures when hunting around the net. they do it on that car with plastic over the lights im pretty sure, as the pic i saw was closer up than that one. not too sure how they do it exactly but its definately a proper plastic surround that you can get, probably coz some pple dont like the plain square lights id say the best way to do it would be with stick on stuff similar to contact, you know like people use to stick on their headlights to do like 'eyelids' n stuff. i dunno where u get that from, car sticker places or watever i guess. just cut it to size and stick it on. then just peel it off and use some stuff to get rid of the sticky residue when ur done.

if u search round the net theres info on DR30s here and there. i got a bit of info too depends wat u want (to that dude wanting website info haha)

arent those flares for 31's though? hmm id be interested but i just dont have big enough dish & spacers to make use of em! would make my wheels look tiny! lol
