No the std evo 9 turbo with cams and supporting mods have no issue at holding 25psi till redline on my brothers car evo 8 before he got it flowed by Tao The ss1.5 is even larger more like 20g size

No not talking about it once you hiflowed it before then also people have plenty on std evos with the cast std one same thing Even people in USA have crankef them up to 28-30psi on the same small turbo

Also I'm not sure if the compressor will be out of flow as std evo 9 turbos which are a td05h16g6 and have a smaller compressor have no problem holding 25psi on a 4g63 till redline

Awesome your a true turbo specialist trying out a lot of new turbos A lot of r&d and testing to get the best result for the customer

Not bad but only gained 10kw with 1more psi and 2-300rpm lag penalty Will see how the .86 goes on mine Going to install it on the weekend and hopefully tune in 2-3 weeks What actuator did you use Tao as boost was dropping a fair bit

Got my copy of the dvd today Excellent filming skills terry thanks for the dvd Was layed out well and great to watch Had a awesome day pity my tyres didn't last very Long but next time round I'm going to bring 3 pairs and turn down the power as it was a handful and just chewed thru the tyres When is the next texi being held ?

If it's makes 20kw more than you did before so 290kw and 20psi by 4000rpm I might have to get you to upgrade mine When is it booked for tune ? Also is VCt working now ?

Wasn't too bad it rained was easier on the tyres As I only had 2 pairs and they were gone by midday I end up sliding on my daily rims in the rain was heaps of fun Great day but next one I'm going to reinstall my 1bar actuator to turn down the power As now I'm on my 20psi actuator with 250rwkw and was very snappy and just bush fired the tyres -
Is that the 60mm exhaust wheel as I wanted to try that before but you said it will be too laggy for sr Will see how you go

Yes they will have better low range power because nearly every aftermarket cam shift the powerband slighty up but makes more mid to top power But with staos car setup it wasn't a fair comparison with stock vs tomei cams as the std had VCt and the tomei didn't I don't know much about rbs but maybe cause the duration or lift VCt is incompatible but it would be better to compare a smaller aftermarket cam with VCt vs std cam then you can say if it's worth changing cams or not so his test was flawed

In saying that std cams will only be the best to a certain to a certain power level than they will become a restriction

Well the ss1.5 is fitted with a 68mm compressor not the usual 71mm used in the gtrs or larger so will see how I go with the .86 I won't be able use the full potential of it with a g3 turbine as my injectors are too small anyway

Ok I get you as the turbine wheel is bigger the bore for its much bigger and it needs more gas to turn it so less back pressure If I get the 20-30kw gain I'll be happy as my injectors will be maxxed anyway thanks

As can be seen in you 21u and op6 high flows there is a difference in power due to rear housing ar Also are you using the same size wheels in both the op6 high flows and 21u ?

What is unlikely to be choking the turbine or housing ? As you aren't running very high boost on most of the r33-34 highflows most around 15-20 psi max

Yeah but is it the turbine chocking the engine or turbine housing ? As the turbine housing ar is the measurement of the turbine housing inlet so wouldn't that the first bottleneck for the engine ? I'll still give the .86 a try on my car to see how it goes but are you going to try the atr28g3 turbine on the ss1.5 ? Also what size is it and you got your s14 engine fixed yet ?

Yeah with 250kw before with the atr28g2 trapped 120mph and 260kw with the td05h trapped 122mph Hopefully the .86 fixes it

If I reach 270rwkw I will be happy as now if he upped the boost he said he had to remove a lot of timing to the point that it made the same power up top with less boost and more timing It was So hopefully with the .86 rear the engine can breathe better and won't knock with 20+psi and the timing can be added back in Was yours with the .64 rear aswell ?

Dyno didn't go the best today On 20psi was making 250rwkw and power to limiter which was same power as before on 25psi but before power dropped off at 5600rpm now pulls to limiter Yavuz said this turbo has more legs than the other turbo but as the boost was turned up detonation started to set in on 23psi was 263kw but slight pinging so left it at 20psi I'm going to try the .86 rear on it in a few weeks and see how I go as he said the engine will be a lot happier with the .86rear on the higher boost pressure better Hopefully doesn't hurt response too much but now it always starting to boost on any throttle

Look at the center hub where the compressor wheel bolts on there is a big difference On the old cast wheel there's a good 2-3mm before the fins start The new billet wheel you can't even see the center hub the fins start right away This is my ss1.5 for my sr20det vs my old atr28g2 so a 68mm billet wheel vs a 71mm cast Booked in for a tune on Wednesday Goes like my hks2530 down low but more top end

Just fitted my ss1.5 to my sr20det 180sx very very happy More responsive than my atr28g2 comes on to boost on very easy Feels like goes as good as the old turbo on wastegate pressure 20psi and old turbo on 25psi 20psi by 3500-3700rpm on road 4th gear Dyno tune very soon when Unigroup are free

Not a bad result definately has potential for mid to high 12s and a low 12s with a very good driver What power is it making ?
