Didn't you say smaller engines usually make similar outright power but there just need more boost usually
-
It was a kando evo9 turbo with billet comp before and made 256kw on same boost 25.5psi by 3600rpm I really want to see the 300kw number so on a rigoli dyno day I'll get him to try 28psi and see if I get there
-
Evo 8 stock block Fic 1120 cc injectors Deatchwerks 300 fuel pump rewired Caltex eflex K&n panel filter std airbox Ces racing exhaust turbo back split dump pipe screamer Gsc s1 cams Hypergear slss2 hi flow evo 9 turbo 25.5 psi 4400-4500rpm
-
Got the evo 8 tuned today Made 285awkw on 25.5psi with more in it but tuner was not happy with winding in more boost on stock block Power was still climbing with more he boost he said I reckon would have cracked 300kw on 28psi I'll get a dyno sheet up later
-
Worth taking it back to the engine builder if yours rebuilt not long ago and it's a engine fault I've been very busy lately and haven't had a chance to put it in yet will put it in 2-3weeks time Evo should be tuned wed so should have results to put up

Common for them rub on the top guide Some people remove it I just space it up with washers and use a s15 chain tensioner as it has finer adjustment otherwise you have to replace the timing chain and guides as it has stretched or the guides are worn and you have to remove the cover to do so which means engine out head off and int sump off
-
Yeah sr aren't high revving engines due too the head design and aren't quiet engines cause they have a timing chain not belt
-
Yeah there's only basically one caltex near me that I use eflex from that's on the way to work So it's not very convinient as you always need to carry jerrycans on long drives and it's my daily and only car Flex fuel is not a option as it will be very expensive for the tune ecu and sensor and my injectors are already very close to limits even on 4 bar fuel pressure so won't see much power over pump with e85 as I'll be capped with the amount of fuel and not turbo but I'll let my tuner decide Hey stao was the turbo you used ext gated ?
-
For my ss1.5 tune on my sr As my injectors won't max so soon being only 740cc on p100 rather than eflex
-
I'm considering on going back to pump 98 with e10 united p100 from eflex It should reach my power goal and is more readily available I was thinking of getting it tuned on p100 and just use regular 98 daily driving to work but just wind back 5psi boost and plus I don't drive it hard daily and if I want to go to the track or thrash it I will fill it up with p100 and put it on high boost
-
Sorry man I can delete if you like But I'm still using a hypergear turbo myself and even got my brother into them for his evo
-
My brothers evo booked in for a tune next week Stao fitted a slss2 chra to his evo 9 turbo Hoping for 280+awkw on 25-27psi Dives nicely on current tune gate crackes at very low 4000rpm untuned won't let it go over 20psi on 18psi actuator
-
What size cooler piping are you using? Any oil inside you cooler from your old blown engine ? I would say its the return flow intercooler as your in the 300kw area now My brother had a similar problem in his 180sx Return flow cooler would refuse to make over 230rwkw no matter what turbo Finally just chopped the battery tray and fitted anormal china fmic kit bam 20kw extra straight up after numerous tunes turbo swaps cam swaps and cam gears dialed in Nothing made a big difference till I got rid of the return flow
-
I'm going to be trying a ss1.5 in my 180sx in a few weeks I already have it but need to instal and get it tune hoping for atleast 270-280kw bolt on style two bolt comp housing Gcg are now making a kit for sr low mount std manifold gtx3071r but 4inch intake will need fabwork to fit and cooler piping abit pricey but $1700-1800
-
Only heard caltex eflex closing hopefully not true I would tune to united e85 if a station opened closeby or on the way to work Close ones 20-30min away and both not on the way to work
-
Especially the caltex eflex at Pendle hill as that's what I currently use
-
Is it true that caltex eflex station are eventually going to be shut down ? due to the low sales I read on a evo forum that's why they have stop rolling them out If that's the case might have to get my car tuned on united p100 as there's a few stations very close by and I was thinking will it be safe to use regular 98 for everyday driving and when I want be hard on it or go to the track I'll use p100 ? As united e85 is abit of a hassle to get and caltex was on the way to work so this way will be more convinient if it's true I'm going to be getting a retune very soon as I've changed turbo and want to know which way I have to go Would love to stay on the caltex eflex
-
Yeah definately looks to have a larger turbine as it comes very close to the int gate <br />I know the gtx3071r has a larger compressor just saying that it wasn't the turbine side of it holding the power back or t2 housing and they still share the same turbine still but
-
Yeah but he said he had the full gt3071r turbine ended 60mm but fitted with a t2 housing they usually come t3 and the cropped t2 gt3071r only has a 56.5mm turbine Look at this http://www.hardtuned.net/forums/index.phpshowtopic=520672&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 Low mounted std manifold t2 gtx3071r but ext gate So it's definately not the t2 housing holding it back 320rwkw
