Great news in my opinion. f**ked if i would want a car back after it had been stolen, let alone a r35 gtr.

My R32 Gtst 1Jz Gte Build
cannabiscorpse replied to 88cameron88's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
f**king awesome mate! Cant wait to see the final product. -
Ive only driven one highly powered fwd car, and it handled well through the twisties due to the weight or lack there of, but you couldnt get too happy with the throttle mid corner to power it out, Sure you carry a lot of speed in though. I cant speak for everyones hate towards them, but the main reason i would never buy a decently powered fwd is simply torque steer,

Im aware that they are decent on the street mate. You have missed my point all together. The falcon is a heavy family taxi, and i was asking if anyone has modded it so they can keep up around a TRACK with the other sporty type cars being mentioned- Evo's etc. Im not some biased fanboy of either holden or ford, so yes i realize both cars offer decent packages to enjoy your driving experience on the street, however i just think that the weight disadvantage puts them behind for the track, and was simply interested if anyone with actual experience had something to say. Edit- I posted a video in the wastland video thread for anyone interested in the gtst/gtt vs xr6t debate. Its the only one ive ever seen
-
Obviously they handle like shit stock (xr6t) but has anyone driven/been in one with a decent suspension/brake package? Just wondering if their is anyway they can be built without spending a mint so they can keep up around a track.

You would have to think its only a matter of time until a scumbag like that (thieving cars, home burgling etc) meets someone that is overly paranoid about their family and can carry themselves well. OR meets Mr hick with a pump action.. You can only hope anyway. All i know is im not going to put myself, wife & daughter in danger for someone nicking my car etc, but when they enter a home- thats different. Like you Taz, all that stuff enters my head about my family being hurt. Get in first if you can.

Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
For the op, this is thread i was talking about. At the end of the day its up to you and your personal preference, As the others have said, its not as ideal or efficient, but you know that. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/240998-blocking-off-bov/ -
Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
His car, his choice mate. No skin off your back if he stalls it or has to replace his plugs everytime he fills up. The others have pointed out the negatives, and if he wants to risk it, so be it. Having said that, most blokes dont have a problem. One person has said he had to raise his idle to compensate. -
Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Well its a very individual taste i guess. Not something im into, even the standard bov gets annoying with a pod filter occasionally. I did read on the thread i was talking about that it was commonly asked by tuners to remove the blocking piece. Imo thats a good enough reason not to block it off, but as you said- each to their own. -
stuff idiots say about skylines

And the bosch injected 3.3 they had in the vk was such an utter heap of shit! Definitely a wise choice. -
Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yeah man, i havent done it cause im not big on the sound, but i read a huge thread on it and it seems there is no solid info on it being unhealthy for the turbo. There was a few guys pointing out that its bad for the turbo etc, but all the guys that had done it had zero problems. -
Suzuki's Gtr Rival........heh Heh.
cannabiscorpse replied to Goombeh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My first thought is what car did this person 'upgrade' from that made them think this car was youtube worthy? In the end though im glad he did, this way it proves just how pathetic the comparison between the suzie and the gtr is, its not like i ever would drive one to find out. -
Seems like it! As he said though, the lower the fuel is the higher the concentration of shit. Gotta love fuel filters eh!

cannabiscorpse replied to Goombeh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Gtr fanboys on a skyline website, who woulda thought? lol Being serious though, it does say that the bloke in his gtr was only learning the car (taking it easy obviously) after moving from a modified sti. I would say its more of a case of the gtr squirting on the straights, mincing the little shitbox and babying the hell out of it in the corners, then the rest was dreamed up by the suzuki drivers. I mean look at that video, those suzies are slow as hell. -
Is It Worth Replacing All Coil Packs?
cannabiscorpse replied to samuri's topic in General Maintenance
Thats gotta suck for plug changes etc too! Must be an r34 thing, the 33 (series 2) is a ridiculously easy job. -

cannabiscorpse replied to Goombeh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Those things are blistering fast with their 85kw engine. Plus they sneak under 1 tonne and have lowered suspension over the standard models. I mean power to weight they are crazy.... oh wait, no they arent, they still suck. haha. -
Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Best bet mate, if you dont have the standard one still they are cheap as shit for the to buy. No doubt they see one of those shiny looking ssqv bov's on there it will be sticker time for you. Plus like you said, they sound shit. -
Bov Defect Question
cannabiscorpse replied to skylinesandman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Dont quote me mate but i think it still can be. As far as all the other gtst owners have said you can get defected for an aftermarket bov. As far as the police are concerned it wont matter that its blocked imo. -
x2! Everything he has said i agree with, especially being guilty of it (everyone) at some stage. I also think they now have much more to worry about than the opinion of stuck up forum goers and a ban with the impounding and fines/loss of license they are facing. Of course though, it does put sau in a shitty position with the possibility of the media negativity somehow moving across to the site, especially if more than a couple of the guys are members.

Thanks mate, cleared up what my concerns were. I was basically just worried that the engineers certificate can be rendered useless and defected regardless, hence having to return to stock. My main concern is having to change all the parts over, time and time again.. I couldnt really care less about having to get things cleared up. Having said all that, the only time i have ever been defected or epa noticed, is when i was attracting attention. (throttling it etc) Wanting to get an engineers certificate is just me wanting the piece of mind of not having to worry.
-
So in nsw can the police still defect you for mods that you have engineered? I only ask because i plan on getting my 33 gtst engineered (just exhaust, intercooler etc, nothing major) but if they can still defect me i dont see the point. I mean obviously if i have these minor mods engineered, and then have a monster high mounted turbo blaring in their faces thats my problem and i can understand that, but if the certificate is worth nothing then whats the point.

Is It Worth Replacing All Coil Packs?
cannabiscorpse replied to samuri's topic in General Maintenance
Like the others have said swap em out mate. Once one has gone, its probably only a matter of time (and short one at that) I replaced one of mine and it ran well for around 2500km, then another failed. I immediately just wished i had forked out for the new ones. -
Welcome to the forums mate. I gotta say mate i was always a v8 man, and loved vl turbos. I always hated the skylines and thought they had a gay ricer/girls car image. Then a bloke in my band that i had only just joined put his 33 gtst up for sale at an awesome price. Couldnt help but at least check it out for the price, drove it once and gave him the deposit, picked up the next day. Lovely cars to drive, and i honestly could believe the bang for buck. Now im a full blown skyline convert, and dont think i will go back to ss commodores. Enjoy your time on the forum!

How To Make My Skyline Sound Like This ?
cannabiscorpse replied to AMOS34's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hahahaha!!! I would suggest a pod filter, strut brace, bov and manual boost controller!
