It sounds like they are trying to crack down on external wastegates to me but have no idea what they are on about. It seems odd they target silly things like BOV's when an external gate is a lot louder than and BOV Ive ever heard... In your case you would be best to inform then you will be recording the conversation(just use your phone or similar) and let them go for it because telling you to hook your BOV to your exhaust would be pretty easy to get out of considering that is not the correct way to hook up the BOV lol....... The problem is that the police are told to crack down on particular aspects of modified cars however they seem to be getting trained up by a cowboy mechanic or something as these types of mistakes are quite often made. I can see both sides of the story here.. I'm not a huge fan of the police due to a few instances similar to your where I had done nothing wrong and yet I got chased by 3 police cars. needless to say I got out of it on each occasion because I stuck to my case and knew they were basically trying to bully me into admitting I had done something wrong when I knew I hadnt. Its a disgrace but what can you do except tape the incident. In saying that I was pulled up in my r31 the other night and the officers were champs, my attitude probably helped a bit. Like any industry there is the tossers amongst them and the good guys. I would write a letter up with the true and correct facts of what they said(and a copy of the defect to prove it) and ask for it to be removed due to the request(to hook the BOV up to the exhaust hahahaha, hahahaha) being dangerous and mechanically wrong. And if you really want to be sly, you could make a point of ensuring the commissioner is aware his officers are under trained with modern motor vehicles and ask him to resolve the issue for the advantage of all involved. Dan.

Drama Ben Glover A Member Of Sau Is Trying To Rip Me Off
Drifterdan replied to Rorge's topic in General Automotive Discussion
LOL everyone knows Ben here. -
For years we, like the mainland, have been targeted by the local bogans, who steal, thrash and then burn our cars. They often get away with it for years before going to jail due to lack of evidence... This is happening pretty much everyday without fail... In the last 2 or so months, professional thieves have also been targeting us by stealing, stripping and burning the cars. This week we have lost a rb25 converted R32 and a mint R33 GTR, both stripped of all sellable parts and burnt, once the VIN was cut out. The week before a R32 GTR was also stolen stripped and burnt. Whats even more annoying is that they dump them in really cocky places and yet no one sees a thing.. Just wondering if you guys on the mainland could keep a lookout because there is no way known the parts are being sold here, nor is it locals stealing the parts (well not the local bogans anyhow, they arnt smart enough to know what bits to take) so it must be someone associated with a mainland connection.... Anyhow if anyone sees any GTR parts or a RB25 head/turbo setup, then give us a yell, SOMEONE MUST KNOW SOMETHING. And no doubt they are reading this. You will f**k it up one day and get caught... Cheers Dan.

Car was found 5am this morning on fire at gagebrook. The head and a few other parts had been stolen. Should be able to salvage a few parts thankfully. On a even sader note, someone came back during this morning(around 11am) and stole the rear light covers(the expensive ones that convert 4 door lights too look like 2 door ones) and the front indicators. Oh and the police didnt even fingerprint the car, even though the car had only had the interior burnt (ie plenty of paint where they could have printed...) Good one Tas police! Dan.

Thats f**king gold right there. All it needs is a bit of his ear chopped off...

Not a problem buddie, i think if you have a read, ull find that all I wanted was a PM or Email  All you had to do was ring Aaron "hey mate, some wanker on the forums is having a sook because he wants to know where his parts are" Not hard, didn't require an essay 3 days later, and a few deleted threads As for anyone that is posting about me having a sook, all good and well till your in the same position At the end of the day, its all just a learning curve, maybe sit down with ur admin buddies and come up with a solution for the future rather than ignoring the issue, thats all I'm saying. One solution would be to force sellers to post up a phone number and address. And as with my previous posts, perhaps suspending sellers selling rights (until the issue is resolved, in this case would require slide to PM or post up a thread saying the turbos are stuck in Sydney...) when a large amount of complaints are received like in this case. cheers.
-
PM received! Thanks Jason. At the end of a day its all a big learning curve, pitty it had to tarnish ur business name in the process...
-
Yeah ive never had a problem with slide before(have spent around 4.5k in 3 months) but this is bullshit. Sadly no one on the SAU admin team is prepared to offer any help in resolving the situation. As if ya would when ya can just hit the delete button..... I know I'm not the only one waiting for parts, I just think that everyone else CBF trying to get an answer, cause lets face it, the reply from the admin a few posts above says it all "slide pay us $$ so as if we will piss them off".... At the end of the day, I still after all this time cant work out why admin cant ring Jason and get an email sent our way :S Its really not that hard at all....... Or infact, i cant see why Slide cant simply reply to the email themselves.... Could anyone affected by the current situation please reply in this thread... Number speak a million works with the powers above....

Taking Off Manifold With Turbo Attached
Drifterdan replied to nissanmanS12's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You might get a small amount of fluid loss but nothing major Probably wont hurt to bleed the air out of your cooling system afterwoods... Probably undo the dump pipe first, then the oil/water lines and then the head bolts. Braided lines makes things 10 times easier when putting it all back together... Just take your time and you will be fine! -
Ummm, why did the other thread get deleted? Anyhow just after a reply to my Email I have sent to sliding as to when my 3.5k worth of parts will be arriving? And before you say it, yes I do realise Aaron is sick - not good However it wouldnt be hard for one of the other guys to reply to my PM's and Emails. Its been near on 8 weeks now. I would have thought posting a delivery date up on here would have been easier than ignoring everyones msgs but what would I know, I'm just a repeat customer...... I still think they shouldnt be allowed to trade until PM's are replied to however, just to allow them to catch up... Not only have I paid for parts, I have paid for a service, which I'm not getting (along with many others). For the record, Sliding arnt the only ones and the other companies dont have the excuse of sick employees.... I think forum operators need to start cracking down on traders, there is a lot of dodgy buggers out there, mind you thats mainly on ns.com. We will see how long this post lasts till the moderators delete it instead of doing something about the original problem.... Cheers Dan.

haha i smsd him last night jakey, no reply.

Hey guys, I have a brand new RB20 high mount exhaust manifold for sale. Comes with new exhaust studs/nuts and turbo gasket. Asking what I paid for it - $1200, as there is a huge waiting list to get them made atm, plus its still in as new unused condition These manifolds ARE the best in the business. I'm located in Hobart but will post. Cheers, Dan
-
I have a RB20 that will be delivered to Hobart within a week or so that is for sale if anyone was worried about getting a motor locally. Pretty cheap car for the power potential....
-
try 6 boost but look at his thread on www.calaisturbo.com. I have one of his manifolds and they are awsome. there is also another guy on the same website that also does manifolds - all around the 1k mark.

Cheers, let me know asap

Hey guys. I'm currently putting a r32 rb20det into my r31 and am after the consult port wiring loom that goes between the ecu and the plug just above the drivers side fuse box. I can only presume this wiring goes from this plug, straight over to a plug on the main ecu loom. I know you can just wire the plug into the main ecu loom, however if it just plugs in from factory, then why not do that! Cheers Dan.
