  1. anybody have a rough idea what i'm missing with twin 2.75" into single 3.25" at the 500whp level? not sure if i should bite the bullet and upgrade to 4". tomei 68mm dumps on -5s.
  2. as above...probably a long shot!
  3. Thanks...I must have missed them! :thumbsup:good luck
  4. link (or specs) to noel's car?
  5. Gav, The previous owner of my GTR used silicone couplers to fit disco potatoes. Seems to work ok, but the 90 degree coupler on the front turbo rubs the PS pump a little. You could also weld an elbow on the inlet. I plan on wrapping the dump pipes and front pipe to keep the heat down. Where abouts did you get the turbine covers?
  6. Hi Gav, I'm looking for turbine covers too. Where did you get yours? I'm looking for rb26 ones to swap onto some disco potatoes.
  7. atp turbo has housings with a v-band gate the famous pics of the turbo f1 bmws from the 80s have twinscroll manifolds with single gates

  9. I had one split too, but it was crappy quality. I was only able to find the housings in stock here in Canada at a place called ExoticSpeed. $270 CAD http://www.exoticspeed.ca/
  10. got pics of the broken gears?
  11. where are you guys getting rear housings for dash 5s? I've been looking for some forever. new, used, whatever...
  12. such as? hoses collapsing? just curious, as I'm also running 90 deg silicon bends off my compressor inlets.
  13. looks like it has a 'serial data connection' http://www.timeattack.com.au/content/view/70/109/
  14. interesting info bsa, best of luck on your project. they are fun cars with some extra power. thanks for posting it!
  15. 500whp and more importantly 500wtq is easily attainable with a thicker headgasket, turbo kit, and stock ecu. 2.8L m50b28. Just my opionion, but I would've went with the 2.8L bmw 6 if availability and price were equal to an rb. easier build imo, more torque, and an arguably better transmission. Is there much of a turbo e36 scene in australia? Its reasonably large here in NA.
  16. and how does the price compare for a 2.8 m52b28 or 2.5 m50b25 vs an rb25?
  17. what stock motors did Australia get for the e36?
  18. also interesting is the slightly better spool with the gtx
  19. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=396476&d=1324166607 this is a 35r vs a gtx35r on a 3.2L bmw. t3 .82 rear note the difference in boost, which is about 2psi
  20. looks like arp has bulk fasteners on page 79, which are rated at 180ksi tensile strength. Looks like grade 12.9 fasteners are rated to 1220mpa or 177ksi tensile, so about the same as the arp stuff. http://euler9.tripod.com/bolt-database/22.html tomei lists their studs as SCM435 material. see if you can find the tensile strength of it, as I gotta run, and then compare.
  21. Well, ERD says the vct mod can only be done in house. didn't ask why.
  22. IMO variable valve timing is the one major drawback of these motors compared to other inline 6s from bmw and toyota
  23. Hey Paul, there's a vcam pro fro sale on gtrcanada.com $4500 CAD if I remember correctly. user name is c-unit.
  24. Looks like one cause to the sync problem has been a loose CAS in the cam: http://www.mrm-racing.se/forum/showthread.php?t=564&page=2 http://www.mrm-racing.se/forum/showpost.php?p=3336&postcount=15
