Ten Four the point isn't what it looks like, it's if it's genuine, you can make a GT-T look like a GT-R with enough money. I know the 4WD and etc are more hard work than worth it and is unlikely a conversion but I need to make sure. Aussie_delivered is this the same for all the Skylines, I'm taking the car to an inspection anyway just to make sure it's genuine and it's not in bad shape.

I went around to see an R34 gtr vpec today and the guy shows me the rego paper, it looked a bit suspicious because it only said nissan skyline. Nowhere did it say gtr or anything. Is this normal? GTR owners what does yours day. I still haven't ran a vin check which I'll go in the next few days, he's an alrite bloke but I dont want to end up with a melon. It has an rb26 but is it a genuine gtr?

LMAO I'm over the 2JZ thing, the decision is almost unanimous and it seems to be way more trouble than it's worth. Getting an RB30 or tuning the 26 would be heaps cheaper and yield same or better results. The V8 conversion sounds nice though you would do it to a GT not a GT-R cos it'll be rear drive anyway. Would sound so weird a V8 roar out of a Skyline. You would pass by and people would still be looking for the culprit not knowing it's you hehe.

Never said Supra's look ugly, I ment stock. I have seen some modified Supras that are to die for. It's a tuners car so no surprise there. Just put on a widebody kit and it will look like a supercar. Good son of rajab that thing is hideous, the R34 is boxy-ish and the supra is rounded. Together they look WRONG. The Supra looks like a shitbox next to the R34 (GT-R. It can look good but stock it's not even a competition.

The V8 idea sounds sick. Could you keep the AWD with the LS3 though. Yes alot of custom work but is it possible. If it's not then what's the point of having a rear-drive V8 Skyline, just go buy a Corvette or something. It would be a waste of a GTR if you don't keep the four-wheel-drive. You could do it with a non turbo R34 though. It would be a sick idea cos they're going really cheap now. Whole build including the car would be $30,000-40,000.

100k?!! Now way i would rather get a RIPS built engine then. I was thinking of the OS Giken RB315 but the price is crazy and the RB30s can be stroked for more displacement so that's not an option either. So I guess this is a stupid expensive job that won't yield a result much more than what the RB can do. (OO) SKYLINE (OO), the Skyline is NO DOUBT the better car, the Supra can't even compete but the 2JZ might be the better engine. Still not worth the trouble.

No way I've asked the GT4 has some chassis differences the GT-R, besides I just put a deposit down on one so yh. I love the 2JZ sound, it's one of the few I6s that sound deep and mean. It also has larger capacity potential and the power figures they make are amazing. I know of that build on Tremek, I know it's been done. I wanna know how much and what it would take, who would do it and most importantly keeping the 4WD Otherwise I'd just drop an LS3 in there (which I would never do to a GT-R). If the build is too hard and costly I'll just get Robbie Ward from RIPS NZ to build me a stroker RB30. That company really seems to know it's craft. Just check their vids on YouTube, no one builds better RB30s.

I know I will get ALOT of hate for this especially in a Skyline Forum but how hard is a 2JZ swap while KEEPING the 4WD is the GT-R (R34). What's involved and how much money. Please don't curse at me for even talking about this but no one can deny the 2JZ is a monster. It can also be stroked to a massive 3.4 litres which would come in handy spooling those turbos and low end torque. I know RIPS NZ does RB30s and strokes them too but that aside how hard is this thing.

Got ya, I'll try to be picky and I'm going to do something else. Going to take like $40-41k and tell him if he wants it he can have it or he can wait even months for an extra 2k.

I've been looking for an R34 GT-R for around $42,000. I've found a white one and a silver one but to be honest I want Bayside Blue. JapaneseAutoCentre have one coming in for $44,995 but because he's a dealer I don't think he'll negotiate. Are there any other sites than carsales, drive and tradingpost to check. I've checked Gumtree and eBay too.

Guys I'm going to check it out with my friend who is a mechanic, he can tell repairs to GT-Rs as he's worked on them but I think the general negative tone of all the responsive is making me want to say pass. I would rather pay more and not end up regretting it. Thanks for the advise, I did notice some things that are wrong. By the way don't you guys think the rear is a little lifted compared to the front? Maybe suspension setup or something??

I am buying my very first Skyline, it's an R34 GT-R. I found a really cheap one with good KMs, it's not a V Spec but big deal I would be changing the suspension and all anyway. Any other things the V Spec is better or is the regular Skyline GTR just as good? I found one (link below), give me your input I called the guy he seems nice and friendly, he says its a genuine GT-R not a conversion, the VINs should confirm that.
