Vq25Det Engine Oil Type To Use?
GTAusMotive replied to samuri's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Nissan oil defiantly isn't derived from a Motul oil stock, trying to think back to the last time I actually looked into this once before and for some reason either Castrol or Caltex keep popping into my head over who manufactures Nissan's retail bottled oil. Either way, I use Castrol Edge 5w-30, its a good synthetic oil for the price otherwise yeah, lots of options under the sun. Motul oils are widely used (Turbolight and X-Cess come to mind) and they're a great oil. Again nothing wrong with Royal Purple, that stuff there is like liquid candy for your engine so its a real treat. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with Nissan's own spec oil either, I can't remember if its a mineral or synthetic base stock oil though but they have only the 1 oil suits all for their petrol engines which as Iain said is 7.5w30, a strange number Nissan come up with but there you go. -
Installed Ipod/ipad Cable Today.
GTAusMotive replied to Tonkachow's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi Graham, as far as I know only a few selected (and most Apple developed) applications can be outputted via the dock connector. If you have a look at Apple VGA cable for the iPad you'll see a ton of people's reviews for the thing being quite disappointed that it doesn't mirror everything displayed on screen to other display sources. http://store.apple.c...oduct/MC552ZM/A So I assume it would be much the same (or worse) for the standard cable you've installed in your Stag. Don't think theres much way around it otherwise. Sorry. -
Wtb: M35 Stagea Turbocharger
GTAusMotive replied to GTAusMotive's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Tell me about it, I got quoted $2300 for a new unit from Japan, almost fell over. But otherwise if the M35 was a bit more aftermarket friendly I'd be going that way for a turbo kit, actually I think the closest thing remotely I've ever found in terms of installation is a HKS GT-RS using a S15 flange, still needs custom fitting back to the intake pipe etc but I've seen a few examples in Japan with that done. But even so, a GT-RS still begs for big dollars. We'll see how we go. Jetwreck, is there any specific tips/advice you can give in terms of removing the turbo? I actually have access to a workshop as the family acquired the facilities years back but its not managed by us so its still costing me in the long run but if I can get some advice before hand it might make the job easier. I've seen the thread regarding the engine removal, as extreme as it sounds it's probably the most sane way to go about it but with access to a hoist and all the tools under the sun, could it be done any easier? What sort of troubles are we likely to run into? Cheers. -

Hey Iain yeah as discussed with ironpaw, basically my situation with the whole thing is I really need to have both units on hand to pull the out unit off and same day put the new unit on and hopefully never have to see this issue again as living rural as I do, access to workshops willing to have the car sitting in the workshop for days unmovable is out of the question so basically my grand master plan was to acquire a spare M35 turbo, given that people seem to push this high-flow business a lot it also seems to bring much better reliability with it as well which is ultimately what I want so upon getting the spare turbo, I was going to send away for that to be upgraded and returned (post service here usually takes 2 or 3 days to get anything to and from the cities + the time it takes to perform the upgrade means I'll be sitting around for over a week before being able to do anything. So like mentioned, if I had a spare that I could send away in advanced, once it comes back and organise to book the car in to replace I can do it all same day and I'd obviously have my turbo useless to me sitting around so it would be beneficial for somebody else looking to go down the same path. But i really quite honestly need this massive favour of getting a replacement unit first up in advanced thats all otherwise I'll have to fork over huge amounts of dollars to pay for the workshop space whilst it sits there useless to anybody. The bottom line is I've got the money to get hold of replacement turbo and send it off to upgrade but can't seem to find any place or any one who has a spare unit to do away with. -

Ash you seem to keep coming back for more and every time you're making yourself look more an idiot so unless your interested in what I've got for sale, next time I have to read a post from you on my for sale thread thats got nothing to do with an enquiry I'll be making a complaint with the relevant people of SAU and thats final. Right now your borderline harassing me about trivial nothing and I had no problem with altering the listing to conform with the rules being it my first sale post, but your attitude about the entire thing so far has been nothing short disgusting and reeks of poor management and it must make for one unique character that I'm thankful I haven't got to deal with on a personal basis. And don't worry I wont bother advertising anything on SAU after this because I don't appreciate the persecution on a public forum over something as ridiculous as this. So I trust we're done on the matter, if theres anything left needing attending to then I'm happy to comply otherwise this back and forth dispute isn't doing any justice for the admins reputation of this forum. -

Actually mate, I'm quite aware of what I'm selling but you obviously don't understand the concept of item worth. If I didn't know what I was selling I'd be listing the lot as miscellaneous and cheap arses would try flogging it off for ridiculous low-ball offers. So if your done with being high-horse admin for the day and don't have any further enquiry with what I'm selling then I'm done discussing the issue with you further. And if you're that offended by my for sale thread then by all means delete the entire thing. -
Hey everyone, I'm desperately seeking a standard turbo from an M35 Stagea as ours is on its way out. Finding a replacement is proving difficult as there aren't any direct fit aftermarket options either. If you have a M35 turbo that you're willing to sell please contact me with the price your after for it, Thanks in advanced.

GTAusMotive replied to GTAusMotive's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Ok, well upon reading the rules I can't understand where and what i've done wrong in my listing besides: 1) not mentioning a price on the items which I clearly stated I have no idea what the value of the items are worth, if thats a major problem then I'll just throw some figures out there. R34 Turbo: $400 + $25 freight Clutch Kit: $600 + $25 freight Varex Muffler: $300 + $25 freight Pioneer Head Unit: $250 + $20 freight I'm open to offers for what I've listed as stated before, I don't know what any of what I've mentioned is worth so genuine, reasonable offers are considered. 2) I don't carry a personal mobile phone, I only carry a work issued and work-only contact phone so I'm not prepared to give this number out for chit-chat about what I'm selling, if in doubt then look elsewhere simple as that, but all enquiries are answered to with tangible, actual correspondence rather than hear-say over the phone. 3) I'm aware this isn't eBay by all means, but I only opened this thread for the information of SAU's members without any further gain, if this is such a problem then cheerfully lock, delete this thread whatever SAU's moderators feel is necessary. I've got the right to advertise what I'm selling through eBay but obviously SAU takes offence to this kind of trading to protect its own interests. I've traded for years on eBay without a single complaint and if thats not good enough then don't bother enquiring. This thread was opened purely with the intent to give SAU members (who would obviously be the only parties interested in what I'm selling anyway) an opportunity to acquire what I'm selling. I said before, if the offer is reasonable then I will remove the listing from eBay and accept the offer via SAU. This gives SAU members the priority in terms of what is advertised and not eBay. But otherwise, thanks to those who genuinely show interest in what i've advertised. -

I'm open to offers Zaver, you'd be looking at a bit over $800 for the lot if you were buying it elsewhere individually. Give me an idea of what you're happy to pay for the lot and I'll think it over. If the offer is reasonable then I can remove it from eBay and sell it to you privately. -

GTAusMotive replied to GTAusMotive's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi Zaver, I'm not 100% certain on the power rating for this clutch as I only intended to replace my old heavy duty unit with this one without taking additional power output into consideration, I'm sure the heavy duty can handle a street-able amount of power, if it were my guess i'd probably say 250-270rwkw to have a reliable clutch life but again I can't say for sure. You might have better luck asking around the forum for the answer since I never really looked into it. Thanks. -

M35 Bits And Pieces.
GTAusMotive replied to japmatic's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just sent through a PM for the Masa rear wing. -
Don't suppose anybody has the specs for the M35 handy?

Thanks for the very informative reply Andy, every bit of that info helped ease my mind about the boost issue. Had a good look over the points you mentioned and unless whoever owned it previously had done a seriously good job of making it look un-changed then just about every hose and wire looks as just how Nissan put it together. I'll plumb up a boost gauge that I got from supercheap and get some readings off that and compare them to what I'm seeing on the factory gauge but if its anything like you mentioned then I can expect to see at least something around the 12PSI mark and not have to be extremely concerned. Again thanks for your helpful info. Nothing like getting the info from knowledgable people

Hey everyone, I'm at the mercy of anybody's professional opinion on this as i've searched the forum and around the web but can't seem to find a solid, definite answer to the question I have. Our 2001 M35 Stagea RSFour is showing boost past the +1 mark on the boost gauge and I know the standard gauge isn't the most glorified accurate thing in the wold but at this stage it has no problem with responding to throttle input so I can rule out if its being over optimistic or not because it appears to function fine. However, I've read that from factory stock standard trim the M35 is designed to run at .8bar or 11.6psi something around that mark, can anybody verify this? As our car is essentially still 100% stock I don't want anything to go boom and was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction to start looking at where and why our M35 is currently making close to, if not spot on 100kpa / 1 bar mark on the boost gauge. The car still has its stock exhaust and SMIC so I know pushing that much pressure isn't a good thing. If I wanted to revert back to the stock boost .8 bar (if that is what it's suppose to be) could anybody give me a few pointers in how I'd go about doing that? I know that theres a handful of vac lines going back and forth between solenoids and actuators and what not but I haven't got a clue where to start looking to see if the previous owner in Japan has maybe removed a restrictor or something. All help is greatly appreciate and many thanks in advanced.
