  1. I'll take one of these too. I'd like to grab a gear knob but i'm yet to buy a gtr, is this something you will do again? Additionally does this price include postage or is that extra? Please email me @ paul at mcmahon dot com with bank account details and i will provide you with some money! Cheers Paul McMahon
  2. which importer do the local guys use? Mark shuman or something right? Any ideas as to how we deal with him directly ?
  3. i'd additionally like to know if there are any importers who are based in japan, thus cutting out the need for the middlemen who are often trouble.
  4. fatz from nsw, his posts are usually extremly funny
  5. yeah i did aswell, bit of a joke really.
  6. no offensive but why is mid 20s as cheap as they will get, considering at the moment i could import one myself for maximum of 20-22K, through an importer There is no final decision in regards to the 15 year rule, and as such people can continue to import 89 cars.
  7. my thoughts exactly aybee. People will argue that prestiges pricing is too low and it cost them lots more to get it on the road, but even taking the worst possible scenario its not going to be the extent people are selling them at. And again, for 26K importing, you could get an absolute killer 89 gtr. But that said, i will never ever buy through an importer as my dealings with the discussed importer resulted in a lack of confidence in their professionalism. Hence, as said before iam willing to pay a little extra, but i'd rather catch the bus for the next couple of months that pay the large margins most are asking for currently.
  8. jake32.. is that car forsale? Regards Paul
  9. I honestly dont see how people can justify the huge price increase. I realise money has to be made but its frustrating for buyers. I purchased a 89' GTR in march from the importer mentioned in this thread. After extensive difficulties with his service (i'm not going into in public), i decided to opt for a refund - the car i purchased was going to work at at less than $20,000 including a $2000 buffer above what the suggested lannded and compiled cost of the car was ensuring that if troubles arised - i could pay for them. Since this time i've been looking locally - they seem to be demanding atleast $5,000 in my opinion than they should - Sure its up to them to set a price, i understand that. After going and inspecting some of the cars on carsales, its rediculous the condition these cars (ripped seats -interior condition leading to the suggestion of high kms, visibly bad accident history repair, colour change resprays, and there panning them off as being 65,000km cars) - (i'm not trying to make a general statement about all 89' GTRs). - Yet the still demand the high prices, again, i know people wanna make money out of the risk involved in importing a car. But it would nice if a middle ground could be found... That said, if theres anyone out there thats seriously selling an 89' GTR in melbourne, for a reasonable price i'm interested (Contact me via email) ...

  15. This thread seems to be filling up with people whom seem to envy the fact that your driving an r33. Everyone is stating that the read it from their little book. The law states the limit, and it doesnt specify how this information is provided or come across. My only advice would be to check it out with the police and vic roads. I'd additionally be seeking legal advice if they say that the reading in their book stands up, providing examples of modified cars to backup your case.
  16. Hence why i take a shit car there
  17. i've finished my exams for this semester, its sucks now, i'm actually bored already!! The only thing about drinking red bull/V is its a bitch to get yourself of it afterwards. 10 cans of redbull in 5 days and then a week of no red bull produces some magic headaches!
  18. Hi, i remember having this discussion with someone on this board, or sdu, i cant remember. Akenan used a plate over the air intake, that had wholes drilled into it, thus restricting the airflow. This is how he got insurance with Just Cars aswell. You guys on P's gotta be pretty f*cking careful, because Justcars or other insurance companies have every right to dick you because your technically breaking vic roads rules, and therefore they can terminate your insurance if you try to make a claim. Akenean got around this buy the method i just discussed. Additionally if the cops are hassling you, show the the dyno result, show them the vic roads rulings and they cant do anything about it. When i was considering buying a gtst, i went through the same ordeal. I contacted Vicroads.. and they have NFI whats going on, waste of time in my opinion unless you get though to someone clued up. I went to the police station and stated my case, again, they dont have any idea about the ruling either. They gave me the number of a TOG, and yet again.. they cant provide any information in regards to the legality involved in what Akeanan did. To be honest tho, i'm quite sure what he did would be more than legal, and should be accepted provided that the restriction plate is on, and additionally you have all the information at hand when mrs or mr piggy ask. I ended up steering away from gtsts, 10 days or so till i'm of my P's 10 days or so till i'll be in a gtr or equivilant If you want any other help, feel free to email me. Cheers Paul
