i would agree with the chain/franchise stores but thanks to my mate (mechanic) he introduced me to the Midas guy next door to his workshop, who does great work (mates rates help) Dan @ Midas (brighton). ex-NZ who worked on a lot of skylines/imports for a good number of years before coming over here. NZ is def not sure of jap imports. Most of his mate referral work is on jap imports, skylines, 180's, etc... He fabricated up my exhaust, made a catback HKS super dragger from an R33 fit my R34. And fitted the rest of the system. He knows his jap imports, and is very thorough in his work. Speak to Dan, tell him dan with the black R34 referred ya

i report people littering... usually it's people throwing cigarette butts out the window. I'm convinced that if these people went to macca's, unwrapped the burger, they wouldn't dump the wrapper on the ground. I can't see why people think cigarette butts are magically different just because they're not that big? Most smokers i see STILL stamp there cigarette butts out on the ground! WTF!!?? :D

get the polish and the RO out, because the chick standing just scratched the top of your R35 with her bracelet!!!

^ how f*cking quick would that be!!! if they could keep it on the ground, and get it to go around corners... would be a rally monster they couldn't price it at $200k because in all likely hood, that would under-cut the V-Spec. And if the V-Spec is going to be as pricey as reported (relative to the price premium's of the V-Spec 32/33/34's) then you'd have to be in the $300K bracket if you wanted to release some "typically" looking exotic with all the luxury fruit. Why have a Renault competing directly with the V-Spec at the same price? The Renault point of difference would surely have to be exotic level luxury, so you'll have to be more than the V-Spec. i guess there is no reason why they couldn't use the all the GTR running gear.... but there are probably plenty of emotional reasons why they shouldn't Is the Stagea still kicking around in Japan and is Autech still in business?

might just be me, but i thought that was cool... looked like a stage or a racing game "The Docks" be fun fanging it around those containers with the VR tone bouncing off the metal sides

Howie, was the GTS-R badge $20 from powerplay?? hmmm... my car needs something in that space.... maybe that'll do the trick.... i guess it's a legit badge as it is the GTS-R kit is your grille/mesh stuff the factory stuff? I'm trying to find some OEM GTR mesh/grille, but not having much luck. Everything about the East Bear kit was absolute quality...except the mesh
-
do you guys have any rough rwkw numbers, in terms of 'increase'?? ie, manual turbo, basic mods, say... full 3" exhaust, maybe an intake mod... what would the EMU upgrade be getting the power to roughly? cheers, daniel
-
off the top of my head... could be hideously wrong GTR = .2 second shift F430 Scuderia = 60 milliseconds (maybe even down to 20 milli in full race mode)
-
Adz, powerplay=sydney - doski=melbourne... but you could argue it's worth the plane trip to get that much $$ back
-
from that angle it looks ok, but from other angles.... i dunno... we'll see easily the best pic lighting is great for that colour, and shows off the rims nicely
-
1 year!!! dude, what the hell is their story??? i sincerely hope you're getting your money back what front bumper are you planning then with the short GTR bonnet?
-
Thanks for the nice comments ppl's, it was a long road to get here Forged, car is looking hot as ever nah Howie, it's my original black R34 under all that East Bear I um'ed and ahh'ed about finishing of the rest of the kit, but thought what they hey... something a bit different out there I *think* i'm still the only one in Oz with the full kit, but i'm not sure. Not sure what to do with the spoiler at this stage... DECIM8, i thought you were going wide body kit mate?
-
for those R34 owners who have switched to K750's, did you need to ditch this stuff because the pads couldn't fit??
-
didn't know this thread existed.... i guess i should put a pic up hopefully getting some SLR type pics soon... in the mean time... All genuine East Bear not sure if i need a spoiler, i'm leaning more towards YES, than No It needs a badge in the middle of the front grille, but i'm not sure about a GTS-R badge, even though the kit is legit.... something about the R....

^ my bad, should have searched... found about half a dozen threads on it recently, and this post seemed to be the most comprehensive in terms of ways to fix the problem, or areas to check Told by 3 separate places that the discs were fine, and didn't need machining. One place being a motosport braking specialist. The workshop DID remove some metal parts, as i think there were size issues?? so i might not be running these "shims" people are talking about Another good post from Beer Baron re: grease?? Workshop never mentioned any sort of lube product being used... That seems to be the bulk of the fixes, the shims, lube, machining discs, filing down edges, roughing up the pads a bit. I might run these options passed the workshop, see what they have to say a different product from JetPilot who knows A LOT about brakes EDIT: just checked my box of goodies that was left after the brake pad upgrade and what do i find?? those shim things!!! all these various metal plates, no wonder i've got brake squeal. Problem is, i think they were taken out because they didn't fit?? So what now then? file the pads down so the shims fit? EDIT: rang workshop, i did have copper grease used when installing the pads, but the QFM's didn't fit with the shims, so i don't have them. They said putting the shims back in isn't going to make a difference to the squealing?

must be the area for it, seen those rice painted highway patrol cars fanging up and down springvale rd. No pretty lights and no other cars on the road, just having a bit of fun obviously. Hoon hotline wasn't running at that stage, not sure if it is yet... see the old, lights on, through the intersection, lights off a lot. Always seem to just be cruising around, and in no particular rush to get anywhere..... what ya gonna do? as long as they get to me in a timely fashion when i need them, that's what i'm worried about.

i'm a newb when it comes to these things, but given the Jap's mentality when it comes to suspension, i would have though the Mines option job would be the last thing you'd want given the sort of 'unperfect' roads you'd be finding down in Tas? -
hi y'all front pads are squealing like nothing else. I tried to follow the bed in procedure as best as possible, and even had 1 track day which i though would bed them in nicely ontop (did about 100km's between bedding in and track day). They are QFM A1RM/K750/HP-R's whatever they're called, and two separate places told me the discs don't need machining, including one supposed reputable motorsport specialist place. So the disc's weren't machined before the pads went on. Before i get the discs done, is there anything else i can check/do/change to deal with the squealing? From the QFM group buy and the 'brake pad' sticky, no one seems to mention really bad brake noise, but these things are HIDEOUSLY squealy, unbelievable loud. I had no idea brakes could be so loud... so yeah, just want to see what else i can check/do first before getting the discs machined... oh... will machining the discs necessarily fix anything? cheers, daniel

i'm a touch confused with the formatting of those times Duncan? are there multiple times listed for each car? -
mate, consider yourself lucky to be living in the same city as arguably the best detailer in the southern hemisphere (paul dalton in uk has got the northern hemisphere). www.finalinspection.com.au - Final Inspection Auto Boutique is located in Brunswick, on Brunswick rd, near corner of Lygon st. Damian does brilliant work at prices that do not reflect the results IMO, he is cheap for the results you get. It's a no brainer, Damian is the ONLY person that would ever touch my car from a detailing point of view. Ormond is a little hike, but more than worth it cheers
