Item: Nismo side skirts and rear bumper Age: 98 car, but resprayed Oct '07 Condition: Mint Price: TBA To Fit: R34 Coupe(R34 Coupe for skirts at least, and i think 4dr rear bumper is different) Location: Melbourne Contact: PM Comments: Extremely well looked after The time finally came, and i've "upgraded" the rest of my body kit So the Nismo side skirts and rear bumper are off the car and are awaiting a new home To clear a few things up, yes, technically they are Altia body parts, but they are widely known as the Nismo factory option kit for the R34. GENUINE factory parts, none of this fibreglass copy business. Respray was done as i modified my bonnet and removed the damn ugly Nismo/Altia rear wing, the one that's bolted on the sides with 7 bolts! So i had the whole car resprayed for consistency sake, but the body kits have never been in an accident/repaired, etc... Sprayed in GV1, which is Nissan's 'Black Pearl' for the R34 range. Factory colour, ready to go for any factory black R34 Don't have any good pics at the moment, as the parts are at my panel beater, but here are a few in case you're not sure what the parts look like. Thanks to Final Inspection, I am ULTRA fussy about the maintenance of my paintwork. The body kit parts have been clayed, polished (about 3 stages) and layered with about 3-4 layers of OCW at the moment. ONLY ever washed with MF mitts, dried with Waffle Weave MF towel and any polishing/wax work done with Aquatouch Ultrasofts. Fastidiously cared for paintwork, body kit is in mint condition. Price i'm not quite sure of at this stage. I'm thinking around $450 for the skirts, and about $650 for the rear bumper. Keep in mind these are GENUINE factory plastic items, not some cheap ass fibreglass copy that has not yet been painted, prepped or fitted. These are ready to roll with factory colour GV1 (Black Metallic), paint is only 1 year old and has been extremely well maintained. Ok time for some pics.... cheers, daniel

Hi learned people just wondering how i would go about programming a Viper remote?? I can't find the booklet telling me how to do it... i've google'd a bit, and all i get is -ignition on -press button (the hidden one usually under dash somewhere) once, release -press and hold -press 'lock' button on remote -let go and then apparently the remote should now start talking to the car again.... but not for me the only other thing i was told was unplug the alarm module, give it a bit and then plug back in, but i don't know how to take apart the area under the steering column yet... is there something i'm missing with reprogramming the remote?? I've had a couple people do it with Bitwriters but i've been told i can do the same without a bitwriter, it's just that the press/release/press and hold never seems to work for me cheers, daniel

Ignitiondvd Hot Spots + Dyno Comp!, Friday The 1st @ R.e Customs
SS8_Gohan replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
i've only got full 3" exhaust and one of those $30 boost controller jobbies, so i ain't going to be running huge numbers... i'll just be doing it for the curiosity factor of knowing what my car is making. Never had it dyno'd before but yeah, between here and NS.com, sounds like it's going to be packed... how many cars could they run back-to-back in say a 4 hour period? -
Hi SAU brethren I feel it's time for a new battery as i just threw a crappy one in for RWC and i've been told about general benefits for the ignition system of having a real good battery, that and it will go flat after about 1.5 days of the car being armed (another issue altogether) So... what brands should i be looking at? Car is a SI R34 GT-T. I've seen 'dry cell' being thrown around a bit? What CCA rating "at least" should i get? What am i looking at paying for a real decent battery? And yeah... whatever else i should know about getting a good battery cheers, daniel cheers, daniel

1st Gallardo SL:1,01,599/1330kg/530ps 2nd NISSAN GT-R:1,02,125/1740kg/480ps Half a second slower despite the HUGE weight and power differences, very impressive. Still can't get over that tough, 400 freakin kilo's heavier!!! Basically what this all means is that the V-Spec is going to OWN ALL!!!! And if there is a V-Spec II or even an Z-Tune..... my goodness...
-
^ i would think not can out brake the 911 turbo ceramic brakes, (in normal cast iron form) and in this case, the GTR was up against another ceramic brake packer, the Superleggera. The V-Spec will surely have ceramic as an option, but definitely better brakes from standard. And with less weight, will be more than up to the task. A fair fight is Superleggera vs. V-Spec, THEN can you compare brakes, etc... Judging from that, a GTR would beat a normal Gallardo around a track. so i disagree, the brakes aren't the weak point IF you compare it fairly against it's realistic competitors. Don't forget the Superleggera has 390kw's at around 1350kg. The standard GTR has less power and more weight!! And NO ceramic brakes. Now put THAT into the context of the final results. 400kg's extra weight (that is just an INSANE weight disadvantage), and ~40kw's less, i think the brakes did as well as you could expect considering it's main rival in that race

Steering Rack Binding Up?
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
worst case, a new steering rack... are we talking big $$?? can any place check out a steering rack, or is it something quite specialised? power steering cooler core $$?? -
hi all did an advanced driving course the other day, and one of the exercises was a mini motorkhana. Now, i've noticed the same issue when i did a skid-pan day and this time luckily i had a pro there to diagnose the problem for me. Basically, when i start getting into the real twisty stuff (tight slalom) it feels like the steering wheel is getting "stuck" and it's not smooth at all to turn from side-to-side. Just for shits and giggles, i threw the keys to the the instructor for the motorkhana section, just to see what he could do in my car and when he returned he had experienced the same thing. He said he was fighting the steering through the tight bits and just said it was "the steering rack binding up under the heat"?? i have no idea what he was talking about, but the dude has won a few motorkhana's so i wasn't one to argue. He said it was normal for a road car... i'm thinking it's not really that normal and there must be something i can do about it, especially with so many skylines doing motorkhana's, etc. I've never heard of an after-market steering rack but i'm thinking maybe some top-notch power steering fluid might help??? I don't know if it's ever been changed, and i don't know how often to change it really... so yeah, glad in a way that it's not something major (well at least i don't think it is), but my goodness is it a horribly feeling and if i'm doing more track days or DECA's etc... i can't have the problem continuing. So if anyone knows about this 'rack binding' issue, any tips to how to prevent it would be awesome!! cheers, daniel

Nissan has copied jack shit. There's a performance reason why they went for 20's, like there is a performance reason Porsche went with 19's for the 997 Turbo. They're not thinking, geez, this will get me in the good books with 50 cent *sigh* they just don't get it. This is such an aesthetically "japanese" car, i mean, the head designer was referencing anime/manga for goodness sake! These crappy 22's work on euro's, but they DON'T work on such a japanese styled car. Rims are shit

ah how about NO. nope, it's a normal GTR nope, there's quite a few in OZ now nothing special, next

Sup vic peeps, ok, i'll keep it brief. Want to have a bit of a hit of tennis tomorrow, i was thinking indoor cos of the weather, but apparently the rain will be coming later. But 32 degrees, might be keen to head indoor... Anyways, anyone know of a good place to play? I used to go to 'Tennis Unlimited' YEAAARS ago in moorabbin, that was indoor. I'm in bayside, but anywhere within 30mins would be good. Or even better, somewhere not that far from splingvale, got to pick my car up later in the day So yeah, for those that hire courts and what not, impart your knowledge!! cheers, daniel

Fs: 17" Avs Model 5's W/tyres
SS8_Gohan replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
ok, silly price now... $1150! -
PRICE DROP! $480 pick-up is cool

if it indeed gets to $250K AUD, then you'll have to compare with a GTR V-Spec, and with the "standard" GTR doing 3.3sec 0-100km/hr and the V-Spec shedding 100kg's with a touch more ponies......... will be interesting... To me the 7:28 ring time was just to stir the pot a bit. Prob a prototype, slicks, and full stripped interior, just maybe a shakedown to see what the potential was. Whereas Nissan had video-taped their run, all we have heard is like 6th hand information about the 7.28 time.... who exactly was the first person to get that out? Was it Lexus like Nissan did? or just some net rumour that found a hungry audience?

Advanced Driver Training Course - Sandown - Sat 19 Jan 2008
SS8_Gohan replied to Bec's topic in Archived Events
i thought braking would make it worse, but nothing helped to prove myself wrong more than just going out there, 50km/hr in second, turn in, slam the throttle, back end steps out big time and then hit the brakes. Wasn't expecting the car to straighten up like it did! I'm a believer, that's for sure. Even if you come off the throttle too quickly, you can't even steer out of it, car's too unsettled. Brake for me in an emergency slide.... if i want to HOLD the slide, well, that's a different story 'some_cs_student' did you try stepping it out and slamming the brakes? (i know you were referring to other people in your group as opposed to yourself specifically) -
hahahahaha @ james ~$400 for a machine like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good son of rajab, your PC sounds like a monster Paul, can't believe that's how much it's worth 2nd hand. Don't think i'll ever buy a new pc anymore if ones like that are going for ~$400 - $500.
